Politics / Re: APC Has Captured G-7 Governors, Says Buhari by MartianTee(m): 1:40pm On Nov 02, 2013
Any party but the PDP will be ok.
PDP is becoming too boring for my liking. Having monopoly over power makes a party feel indefeatable and so, the members do as they like.
I'd rather no party can win elections, two terms back to back.
We need 3 to 5 equally strong parties who can give eachother, run for their monies.

If you hear what that woman said when she was interview, in fact, she fell short of her expectation as a woman and as a mother. I wouldn't like to hear my mother tell such a sparkling-white lie-that nobody died. That's heartless and a disrespect for human life.

KwoiZabo: na you post. na you comment.
now let me tell all of you, all these proliferation of news on deportation is just to make what fashola did to look mild but we cannot be deceived. what fashola did is bad, an insult to igbos, condemn able in all its ramifications. how on earth can you justify dumping 72 citizens under a bridge in their own country at the dead of the night in the name of reconciling them with their family. what rubbish.
Who cares what you think about Lagos state, The ACN, or the Yorubas? If Anambra state governor is responsible enough, he would have sent people to Lagos to bring back his citizens. Last time i checked, our constitution only recognises state of origin, not state of residence. Don't expect the government of the state you reside to be responsible to you if you're not paying your tax.

After 14 years of bad governmance, PDP has shown that Nigerians should look elsewhere for the much desired change we seek. Every change thirsty Nigerian will see an alternative in APC.

Chubhie: Badman GEJ 2015 and no further. I guess the heat is on PDP....I never for one day took them serious cos their philosophy on what the term ruling party stands for is an insult on how the term is universally applied. I have seen a real Nigerian opposition-APC- that will keep govt on its toes for the masses to have an improved standard of living . All i see in PDP is a garthering of brute rogue politicians whose intent is on how to further loot our collective commonwealth. Abati got this wrong and a certain okupe need not ride this wave out. Badman GEJ, no way for you.
I agree to your statements above as edited by me. grin

...............President Jonathan.

...................Reuben Abati.

Is Abati saying he doesn't understand "metaphor" again? Abati is displaying "sophisticated ignorance" by deliberately misrepresenting APC intention.
Don't mind that Apaticheesy, he knows better. He was just being mischievous.
Politics / Scores Injured As Alaafin Son’s Loyalists, Oyo Lawmaker Clash by MartianTee(m): 9:48pm On Aug 07, 2013
Some people have been reported to be injured in Oyo town when supporters of Mr. Akeen Adeyemi, son of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi and a lawmaker representing Oyo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Khamil Akinlabi clashed.
During the fracas dangerous weapons were said to have been used carelessly by the feuding factions, the crisis according to reliable sources started when a group of people on friday marched to the palace pleading with the monarch for the recall of Akinlabi whom they accused of not making any remarkable improvement in the lives of the people in his constituency since he assumed the seat in 2011.
Instead of the lawmaker, they clamoured for Prince Adeyemi to assume the seat in the National Assembly. But, a counter protest was staged, yesterday, in Oyo with loyalists of Akinlabi from Oyo-East, Oyo-West, Afijio and Atiba local governments, faulting the earlier allegations against the legislator.
They displayed placards with inscriptions such as "Stop politics of bitterness", "Kamil, man of the people", 'Kamil, hero of our time' and went through major streets in Isale Oyo.
Leader of the Akinlabi's group, Mr. Waheed Ajagbe said it was not fair to say the lawmaker had not done anything, noting that "about 175 boreholes were provided by the lawmaker across his constituency.
"He has distributed 16 vehicles to party leaders and Oyo Mesi (kingmakers). Akinlabi has also facilitated the construction of Erelu water project.
"In the area of education, he has facilitated the rehabilitation of Olivet Baptist High School, Isale-Oyo Community Grammar School, distributed textbooks and notebooks for pupils at Primary School level."
He alleged that "of the 10 political appointments given to Oyo, six are being occupied by the sons and wives of the monarch. Are we going to fold our arms and watch people who want to help us being frustrated selfish reason?"
The protest had been peaceful until some people from the other group allegedly stormed the venue and chased them away.
Armed mobile police men from Durbar division reportedly arrived the scene with Armoured Personnel Carrier to quell the riot.
When asked to comment on the issue, the police said it would find out.

Jonathan’s sterling leadership qualities”.
Of course, the quality that's crumbling his party.

“They formed a party only to realisethey don’t have a candidate. We thank him forhis acknowledgment of the President’s leadership qualities, but he (the President) is happy where he is.
Anyone of Buhari, Tinubu, Fashola, Rochas, El-Rufai is better than 10 GEJs.

“We thank Chief Akande for his expression of confidence in PresidentJonathan’s credibility but the President is happy where he is, as a member and leader of the PDP to which he remains loyal, and under the umbrella of which he is leading a transformation agenda for the bitterness of the lives of Nigerians” he said.
Of course. grin

That invitation was actually an insult. It shouldn't be read literally.

Sealeddeal: Its very unfortunate for opposition to take all their time to build a party without a credible presidential material. Well,i will suggest that they adopt President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 since he is not ready to leave PDP.
Even Abati knows that's not what the invitation implied in essence- invite his boss to make him the flag bearer. It was just to spite GEJ . But it's so unfortunate Abati had to use it against them.

Politics / 2015: Apc’s Invitation Shows Jonathan’s Best Man For The Job – Presidency by MartianTee(m): 6:37pm On Aug 07, 2013
The Presidency, Wednesday, said the invitation by the All Progressive Congress to President Goodluck Jonathan to join theirparty was a clear indication that Jonathan was the best man for the job of leading thiscountry.
Reacting to the Tuesday invitation extended to President Goodluck by the APC to president Jonathan to join the newly-registered All Progressives Congress, the special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati said the invitation was “an acknowledgment of Jonathan’s sterling leadership qualities”.
According to him, the invitation was a compliment to the president’s leadershipqualities which even the opposition had acknowledge that Jonathan is the best manfor the job at present.
While jettisoning the possibility of the president taking up the offer, Dr Abati lampooned the opposition party for forming a party only to realise later that they do not have a credible candidate.
“I think it (the APC’s invitation) is a compliment. What Chief Akande has said in essence is that President Jonathan is the best man for the job.
“They formed a party only to realise they don’t have a candidate. We thank him forhis acknowledgment of the President’s leadership qualities, but he (the President) is happy where he is.
“We thank Chief Akande for his expression of confidence in President Jonathan’s credibility but the President is happy where he is, as a member and leader of the PDP to which he remains loyal, and under the umbrella of which he is leading a transformation agenda for the betterment of the lives of Nigerians” he said.
