I want to buy a 32gb sd card and i found this...32gb for #1750 on jumia and i was surprised... Is it a fake?if u have bought it..pls share yr experience?

Well, I honestly don't see you as a serious buyer. Your meant to read the product detail and make up your mind to purchase it. The fact that it's N1,750 doesn't mean it's not original.

You can do a research and check aliexpress.com. Memory cards are not expensive.
Business / Re: Jumia Forces Competition To Crash Prices by martin1985(m): 5:19pm On May 04, 2015
PrinceZoe:
Being doing some research on prices in Nigerian online stores for a blogpost on a website and discovered some things.

In the last couple of days there has been in Vanguard, Guardian, Business Day newspapers, price comparison website TopCheck and many others the comparisons of prices amongst retail stores with all pointing to Jumia as the retailer that takes the crown. This was received with a consequent massive buzz on social media by customers with the hashtag #bestpriceonjumia which for that period trended as number 1 on social media. NOW we see competition reactively decreasing prices; all hail Jumia the fairy-tale Robin Hood of retail.

According to Jonah Nwokopku, Vanguard Newspapers, “An investigation into some of the prices Jumia offers for some products showed a consistent competitive pricing with even international online retailers like Bestbuy and Amazon. Take for instance the Samsung Galaxy S5, this goes for about N119,000 on Amazon and on Jumia for N95,230”. He also said when talking about the Jumia Fashion category that “More so, in categories like fashion, their prices also beat that of their competition by at least 2 per cent. For instance, a pair of Vanessa’s secret’s shoes which cannot be found anywhere below N9,000 in other online stores is available at N6,495 on ”.

Also Daniel Obi, Business Day also corroborated these facts about best prices found on Jumia not compromising on quality, “The low prices also apply not only to electronics but other products. Jumia customers attest to this. Jumia products are cheaper compared to other online stores without compromise to quality”.

When it began, one would think it was another cheesy trend. But after 5 whole days of that relentless #BestPriceOnJumia twitter trend one can’t help but pause and double check. Indeed! Jumia’s price hype does measure up to reality. And going by the crazy engagement level of social fans, who aggressively tweeted favourite products they found at better prices on Jumia, it is obvious this was more than one of those calculated social campaigns, but a testament to Jumia’s commitment to actually offering highly competitive pricing.

When it comes to the reasons how Jumia is able to offer best prices, these publications name different reasons. One very interesting fact is that online retailers have lower fixed costs so they can offer cheaper products to its customers. Also Jumia has been able to forge lasting and favorable partnerships with the biggest brands who are able to offer Jumia their products at reduced tariffs and sometimes even exclusively. These brands are happy and always willing to work with Jumia due to a proven track record of service delivery, customer satisfaction and guaranteed volume of sales. This leaves no doubt that the Jumia team has the best negotiators within the industry.

In an exciting twist, there was a sudden drop in prices from other competing retail stores and it brings the question, is it really so easy to drop prices over-night just to compete? Did these retailers make money off the back of customers? Maybe these prices are a long-term strategy or only a quick fix reaction to Jumia’s consistent best offerings? Either way we know one thing for sure Jumia is the ‘Robin Hood’ for Nigerian customers.

No be only robin hood na captain planet. Well done Jumia. Am sure konga will also have their strengths too.

Business / Where would you buy your Samsung TV's Online? by martin1985(m): 11:05am On Apr 23, 2015
This is way too much. I want to upgrade my TV from a 40" to 48". Checking online this morning, i was shocked by the price difference on konga and Jumia. I majorly buy on Jumia but i decided to check Konga to see if i would get a better deal on the Samsung 48 inch UA48H5100 USB-to-USB Transfer LED TV.

To my surprise, Konga sells at N152,990 compared to Jumia at N95,000. N57,990 difference. I swear this is a ripoff, Chai!

Nobody told me to stick to Jumia and order my TV nextweek. Hopefully, it would still be in stock.

Where would you rather shop guys?

Phones / Where can i get Samsung Galaxy Ace 4? by martin1985(m): 11:22am On Apr 22, 2015
We will find it interesting to know that Jumia has the best prices on selected products online. Today, i found the price of Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 Lite G313H - White on Jumia at N15,800. Konga sells at N18,200. A whooping N2,400 price difference. Jumia has the best deal on this particular product.

Guys, who do you rather shop with? JUMIA OR KONGA?

Business / CAN YOU GET A DIGITAL CAMERA LIKE NIKON? by martin1985(m): 2:11pm On Apr 21, 2015
I have a wedding to attend next week Saturday 25th April, 2015. I need to get a camera to capture some moments at the ceremony. So i taught of checking the Konga and Jumia. However, i have had several arguments on price differences of products saying Konga seems to have cheaper prices than Jumia.

Well, this became a shocker to me when i searched for the Nikon Coolpix S2800 | Silver. Konga had the camera at N15,200 while Jumia was N14,900. Konga i know you want to sell your market but N300 difference is much now. Kudos to Jumia! I ordered my camera sharply and got it delivered to my office 3days after.

I think it's better for us all online shoppers to compare prices online before shopping. What do you all think?

Phones / Re: This Infinix Hot Note Is Only N23,500. Will You Buy? - Jim's BIG Thing by martin1985(m): 8:11am On Mar 10, 2015
Olaryeankarh:
Having being teased by JUMIA with the Jim's Big thing stuff, we now have the surprise. It's a phone; it's an Infinix! It's a HOT NOTE.
The Infinix Hot Note is a great device that promises great output in general but something spectacular about this device is the massive battery it packs (4000mAh) and it has support for fast charging. Fast charging will make your phone's battery charge very quickly.

The Hot Note is a phablet with 5.5 inch HD screen quoted at 720x1280 pixels. It has a 1.4GHz Octa-core processor manufactured by MediaTek and 1GB RAM to make things run well. For the camera, there is an 8MP camera which can take 1080P videos and a 2MP secondary camera on the front for selfie addicts and of course, those who make video calls.

In all, the Infinix Hot Note comes with the basic features a mid-range device should have. It is neat, slim and very light. The design and color variants are attractive too.
For full specifications, video and where to buy, see the source link: http://www.mobileraft.com/infinix-hot-note-x551-specs-price/

Now the question: Do you love this device? Will you buy it at all? Let's gist cheesy

Yes i will buy the device as a birthday gift for my boo next month...

Jumia is a bit complicated compared to Konga.

Jumia do not have drop-off center, you have to take your orders to their office in Adeniyi Jones for onward delivery to customer.

But if you get someone to explained the details involved, you will understand it but mind you the process is long and they charged high commission.

I have processed just 2 orders on their platform compared to several hundreds on Konga.

This is quite interesting!
