Hello sis, good evening. I have never considered the option of CC but right now that is what is I’m so considering and I need you to walk me through.
My sponsor wants to open a CC in his name and I want to know if I can do that on his behalf at the bank or he has to go with me.
How many days does it take to get the CC certificate?

Hi, as explained before by @blessednendowed

Question : How can I obtain a credit card Limit Certificate?

Answer: Go to any of the major banks and ask for bank manager. Tell them you need a cash backed credit card . Basically it’s like a secured naira credit card . Meaning you will use your own funds to fund it as collateral ok. In this case the bank will put a lien on some of the money . For example let’s say you need a cash backed credit card for 5m. You will need to fund the card with about 6m because out of this 6m the bank will hold between 10-20% of it as collateral meaning they will put a lien on that 10-20% of the amount you are funding your credit card with.
Once you fund the credit card account you can then request for a certificate/confirmation of credit card limit. Some banks take between 5-7 days to issue this certificate/confirmation of credit card limit.
This certificate is what you need to submit to the polish embassy as proof of funds.

*He has to be there to open his own Credit card account.

Yeah our angles are different. For the bolded, Elected Officials do not have certificate of employment so to speak. INEC issues them Certificates of Return.

Oh okay, yeah different angles.

I don’t know if the certificate of return would be accepted for the visa. If someone else is certain on here then they should clarify for you.

If not then doing the credit card limit would save you stress.

Yes, the employment letter/certificate is not super special like you said but which organisation is willing to reissue documents like that, it is very rare plus it definitely contains sensitive information that is contractual. My point is, the embassy isn't supposed to be requesting to collect originals. Plus you saying CC option should be used, the employment certificate is also compulsory for both options, be it pay slip or credit card. Thanks anyway for your input.

Sorry, if the company your sponsor is at is unable or unwilling to reissue the document again, was speaking from experience as my father requested twice from his company. I understand different companies have different policies so what works for me may not work for you. Also, at the end of the day, all the information you’re submitting to the embassy may or may not have sensitive information but that is what is needed to get your visa.

Here’s where you’re wrong though .

The certificate of employment is only compulsory if going for the pay slip route. If you’re doing the Credit card route you don’t need employment letter. You can double check on the website.

Sir,

I think a Certificate of Return belonging to a Politician is super special o. Correct me if I am wrong, but is INEC pre-disposed to re-issuing certificates of return if Poland Embassy snatches the originals?

Na wa for Embassy o

Guy,

First of I’m a girl.

And I don’t know what INEC is doing or what... I wasn’t talking about politicians, I was talking about simple salary earners at a company.
It’s not hard to ask your company for employment letter specifying it for visa purpose (that’s how it was for me)

And what is certificate of return? We’ve only been talking about certificate of employment. If you are unable to do the above then go with CC limit option.

Please note; If you're going for a 3yrs course, you're to buy an insurance that would cover the whole three years plus two months extra.

Same goes with other courses. You buy an insurance that covers your study period plus some extra months.

You can't be going for a three years course and you're buying just one year insurance, the embassy would reject that insurance.

Hmmm... I’m not sure about this.

I only bought 1 year and 3 months insurance. Yet again on the form I didn’t fill out that I would be leaving Poland in 2027 (when my course would end) rather 2021 June (for summer) so idk..

Perhaps after you get your visa you can always buy more. But it doesn’t hurt if you want to buy insurance for your entire studies.

You do what you feel needs to be done.

you can never get the same amount you put into the account as your credit card limit..bank must hold a part of the money as their percentage, and it's usually 0.75% of the money, it may differ with banks tho

I did though. I got all the money back I put in.

The money was placed in a restricted account and used as a collateral. Once I asked for the card to be closed (as I couldn’t use the money as it was restricted) and changed the account to a simple dollar dom debit card, I got back the full amount that was used as collateral. The only money that the bank collected from me, was a card maintenance fee which was 250$ in total.

Again I can’t explain properly what the bank staff were saying about the card I used because it was very confusing plus I was there with my dad so he spoke more.

Credit cards don't put the exact money deposited. Eg; if you put 6mill, it'll show 5mill meaning 120%. So I'm asking for the rate Zenith used

For me it wasn’t like that. To be honest I don’t understand 100% about the card I used but it was a cash credit card I Believe. The entire money I put in was what was shown on my CC limit certificate. I recently changed the account type and I got all my money back minus the card monthly payment which was 250$ in total for a duration of 5 months.

I don’t know if this makes sense. Cause it took a while to explain what I wanted to the guys at zenith.

Good evening to everyone. I need to ask an important question please. The Employment certificate/Employment letter being asked for which the gurus are saying should be original and not scanned or photocopied, will they require us to submit it or is it just for sightseeing? Because, logically speaking, why would anyone surrender their original Employment certificate just because you want to help someone, even if the person is your relative. There is a tendency it can be misplaced or something else happens to it.

It’s not for sightseeing, every document submitted for your application will not be returned. Only documents that get returned the same day are the ones that they don’t accept like bank statements.

The employment certificate is nothing super special, if down the line you need a new one, you can always ask your company for a new employment letter.

It just proves you have ties to a company.

If you don’t feel comfortable enough to give your employment letter in its original form to your relative then use the CC limit option to save yourself stress.

Normally it's for sighting, after which it'll be given back to you same time you submit your documents.

Please what are you saying?

Have you had an appointment recently or?

This info is not correct, any document given will not be returned.

Hello. Can one open a CC with GT bank? Or does it have to be either of Access or First Bank?

Honestly,

You can open a CC at any Bank as long as the people there know what they are doing & understand what you need. I did mine at Zenith and it was accepted.

does embassy gives reason for visa rejection ?

Of course they do.

There’s a document with list of rejections and the embassy will highlight on which grounds you were rejected.

You receive the document with your passport after your first denial before an appeal. And in your case since you’ve applied twice, they should tell you on which grounds you were denied on.

Why not?

If you’re fast enough to get the right documents then go ahead.

Though spaces may be limited or unavailable this close to deadline but good luck trying.

What countries are this?

If you look below your original comment @blessednendowed answered

blessednendowed:

Let me correct this okay.... Calls can come from anywhere ok. But I am saying that the Polish embassy in Nigeria may ONLY accept to issue an appointment date to calls coming from countries its embassy has the jurisdiction to issue a visa for. These countries include Republic of Benin, Republic of Ghana, Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Republic of Cameroon, Republic of Liberia, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Republic of Sierra Leone, Togolese Republic.

I am saying that there is a possibility that if your friend is not calling from one of these countries then there is a possibility the embassy MAY not accept to issue them an appointment date.

Please take note I am talking about calling for a visa appointment date here NOT legalization date. For Legalization date anyone can help you book it because its done through the website so there is no telling where the person may be located as long as they have access to the website.

Hope this is clear now.

Please this is not correct. If you are appealing a visa that was initially denied you do NOT pay 80 euros again. You only pay 80 euros for a new fresh visa application. For example If you are denied a visa at the polish embassy, you have 14 days to appeal without paying the 80 euros again. If after that appeal you are still denied the visa then you have to start all over again and this is considered a whole new fresh application and this time you have to pay the visa application fee of 80 euros again.

Infact, every embassy works like that: For appeal u do not pay visa application fee again but for fresh new application u need to pay the visa application fee. And pls note for any embassy you are only allowed to appeal once. After that u need to submit in a whole new fresh visa application.

Hope that is clear

Instead of saying that I’m wrong, why didn’t you just go to the polish visa website and see it for yourself.

Here highlighted in bold If you do not agree with the consul's decision, you may ask to have your visa application re-considered. You must apply for the reconsideration in the office that issued the decision within 14 days of its delivery.

The application fee in this case is 80 euro.

If you go on the website https://www.gov.pl/web/nigeria-en/d-type-national-visa , and go to how to appeal, this information is stated clearly there.

I was also talking from experience. I’ve appealed and had to pay 80 euro for appealing.

Please always check the website before asking questions or answering questions for people.

Hope this clarifies it for everyone.

Please what is easiest and convenient way to secure appointment date for visa as the call in not going tru?

Guy, either you call and call till you're lucky to get through (It is possible, I've done that)

If not and you are willing and able to spend some cash. Get a date from someone and I would advise that you don't pay until you arrive there and are sure your name is on the list.

Congratulations for ur visa… so happy for u!! Please I ve a quick question

1. Is ur flight reservation round up trip or just one way? If round up trip what site did u used?

2. Assuming ur study starts in October and ur health insurance starts September so will ur flight reservation and visa going to b September?

3. Do u use new international passport with 5years validity or one with @least 1year validity from date of visa application?

I will really be greatful if these my questions Re answered.

Thanks in advance.

1. Round trip used. I have a flight agent that I normally work with (I fly mostly only with Airfrance/KLM cause I have mileage)

2. From scenario you've stated
* If insurance is September (1year + 2 months validity)
* Flight should be from September as well
*These have to match, you can't fly without insurance
* This depends if you get your appointment in September then yes your visa wold most likely start from September

3. My passport was 2 year validity (Exp. 2023)

Thanks for the info, appreciate it.

Based on your experience, should one get an accommodation contract in which the date starts from the visa application month or a contract that starts towards the beginning of the semester (October)?

Thanks once again.

I'm confused with this.

Don't complicate it. Book the accommodation for when you choose to arrive in Poland. If you're palling to get their by October, then it would make sense to have an accommodation contract from October this year to next year. Your flight ticket must also coincide with this as well as your insurance.

Congratulations on your visa.

Does the Visa validity date start at the beginning of the semester (October) or the flight reservation departure date?

Thank you.

Thank you!

The visa date starts from when you applied to the following year. So if you apply, this August 2021 the visa will expire in August 2022 (A year)

I applied in March, got a rejection, had to appeal and was given in May. So my visa is valid from May 2021-March 2022

Did you get the visa recently? How much do you have in cc?

I got the Visa in May of this year. First rejection applied with CC limit of 10,000$ (about 4 million Naira)

This may not have been enough for me, since my degree is medicine so applied later on with about 20 million Naira after advise from a Nigerian classmate and it worked for me.

This worked for me but I am not advising it to be the norm or anything.
This is just taking into consideration of my:
* Degree -Medicine
* Duration - 6 years
* High tuition fee
* High rent

So I had to have way above average.

I would advise you stick to the 5 million as a minimum and go upward from that if feasible. Don't forget to also calculate your own cost so that you're covered.

please, one more question
Any consequence using a foreign based sponsor?

Perhaps it’s harder for the polish embassy to check how much the person has in a foreign bank.

Honestly, you can use a foreign sponsor but I would advise your sponsor should have account in a Nigerian bank and request for CC limit as that would be much easier to prove.

This happened to me, my sponsor works in France and we had use a bank in France and Employment letter (though not original so was a problem) and payslips but still rejection. Once we then used CC limit in a Nigerian bank I was given a visa.

This is my experience. Just always make sure you have the right documents for easier process.

Question: If I have a sponsor that wants to do credit card certificate should the certificate of credit card limit be in my name or the sponsors name?

Answer: The certificate of credit card limit should preferably be in your sponsors name if you have a sponsor. But if you would like it to be in your name, make sure that your sponsor also provides you with a signed and notarized letter of sponsorship. In that sponsorship letter, your sponsor should state that he funded your credit card with such amount maybe as a gift or something of that nature.

Minor edit:

The person needs a signed and notarised sponsorship letter regardless of who's name the CC limit is in or if the sponsor is going through payslip route.
