Nairaland / General / Report From Apc Primaries: A Tough Battle Between Two People In Anambra. by maxynex: 2:19pm On Aug 26, 2017
Report reaching us says the toughest contest from the APC Primary Election ground is between Senator Andy Uba and Hon. Tony Nwoye, meaning a battle between 2 persons that were all in PDP. One is a dependent and a stooge to a kingmaker who will not put his money where his mouth will not chop. Tony Nwoye is a political investment coming from Chief Arthur Eze. The fact is known to all that Tony lives in Arthur Eze's house in Abuja and worships his godfather. Is this the kind of Governor the People of Anambra have sent the delegates to give them? No, not at this critical time when Anambra stands a chance of leading other states in the South East region into new economic heaven. Who else is in position to make this dream come true if not the one who was instrumental to making 15 billionaires way back in Obasanjo's days! Andy Uba is a natural kingmaker himself, he is an ingenious politician who had done enough to the country and still has the humility to make the state as the best by the clout he command on the best business men in Nigeria. His influence in the National Assembly is unmatchable and is an asset to Anambra State. He does not depend on anyone nor he makes any deal to sell the state to any desperate and greedy political merchant.

In this critical moment, let us reason and eschew political sentiments powered by the interest of unpatriotic elements full of selfishness. Let Anambra decide for us today and for the future generation. Andy is the answer today, Tony and his godfather are to think and allow the right person to emerge in the interest the entire people of Anambra State.

Pass this message across until it gets to the APC Delegates at the Primary Election Ground in Anambra.

God bless Anambra State!!!

Nairaland / General / Ngige Must Go. Pensioners Cries Out. by maxynex: 9:48am On Aug 25, 2017
Pensioners, under the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) has accused the minister of labour, Dr Chris Ngige of nepotism and incompetence. Specifically, the NUP declared that Ngige was using his position to circumvent the trade union and pension laws to favour his kinsmen.

He was also accused of losing focus on his primary duty as Minister of Labour.
The Pensioners called the attention of President Buhari to call Sen Ngige to order and he should stop interfering in Anambra politics.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had on Monday declared an indefinite strike over Federal Government failure to keep to the 2009 agreement. The association also called for the removal of the Minister. He was accused of neglecting his duty, instead of thinking of ways to negotiate with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and do everything possible to make sure the union is back to work, he is busy with Anambra politics and god-fatherism.
Nairaland / General / Sen. Chris Ngige Disassociates Himself From Threat Allegations. by maxynex: 9:17pm On Aug 23, 2017
Ngige Responds To Threat Allegations On Tony Nwoye, Andy Uba.

-I have no issue with Uba, Nwoye, They are all allegations…
-All aspirants are my children…

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen. Chris Ngige has dissociated himself from allegations making the rounds in the social media that he petitioned security agencies over an alleged threat to his life by Sen. Andy Uba and Dr. Tony Nwoye.

“This is false and fertile imagination of mischief makers who are intimidated by the rising profile and tempo of activities in the Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress,” Ngige said in a statement by his Media Adviser, Nwachukwu Obidiwe.

“I wish to state in clear terms that I neither have issues with the afore mentioned persons who are no doubt my children as the leader of the APC in Anambra State nor have any reason to petition security agencies. As we inch closer to the governorship primary of our party, it is not surprising that opponents, detractors and mischief makers who are obviously intimidated by the strength of the APC will stop at nothing to create even if an imaginary division among us.”

“I similarly wish to state that it is a huge insult to insinuate or even imagine that I am guided by pecuniary interests in positioning our party for victory in the coming governorship election. I aver therefore without avoidance of doubt that no aspirant advanced any money to me, or will ever whisper such to my ear. At my level and pedigree, it is preposterous to allege that I will ever be disposed to such.

“My role and major interest as the father of the party in the state are very clear; to ensure that level playing ground is enabled for the best among the aspirants to emerge and subsequently win the governorship election.

The Minister finally urged all the party members, Ndi Anambra and the general public to disregard these baseless rumours and gossips.

Nairaland / General / Tony Nwoye:a Green Snake In Green Grass. by maxynex: 8:51pm On Aug 23, 2017
Tony Nwoye is a cultist, can't rule us says Anambra Elites

Owing to the intervention of God in the person of Chief Willie Obiano, Anambra State has been enjoying a peace that seems to surpass all understanding. Kidnapping, armed robbery and other vices seem to be in the retreat as Akpokwudike has taken all steps to ensure that the people of Anambra can go about their daily businesses in the day and sleep well at night.

It is on this issue of security that we as a people cannot go back to Egypt as represented in the personality of a most deviant son of the state in the person of Hon. Tony Nwoye.

This one time NANS president who should not have been, because of his non-academic status at that point in time having been rusticated for cult related activities intends to become a governor of a state that has presented to Nigeria the likes of Zik, Ekwueme, Okadigbo, Asika, Kenneth Dike and so on. This is unacceptable to Anambrarians who suffered much in the dark days of Anambra.

Nwoye was rusticated from UNN in 1998 for cultism and non academic performance. He was later linked to the murder of late Barrister Barnabas Igwe and his pregnant wife who were gruesomely murdered.

When Tony was chairman of PDP, he did worse using cultists to harass opponents. He was also accused of using thugs during Primary, which is why we are panicking about the forth coming APC primary.

How can I also forget how Ayakka Nsugbe shared money meant for the brigandage of Anambra as directed by Chris Uba but for the clever nature of Dr Chris Ngige who asked all his supporters to stand down, the blood of the innocent Anambrarian would have been shed.

I do take time to write this owing to the truth that Anambra cannot prosper in peace or progress with a fellow like Nwoye, we do not want the state to turn into another Rivers State.

A man who again recently sponsored a crisis between the Umuleri and Aguleri people will definitely give the state the whirlwind should he by misfortune become our governor.
It is thus a reason why former President Jonathan refused to endorse his candidacy, Jonathan they say was sad by the security report on Nwoye that he canvassed for Willie Obiano even when he was in the opposition. Even when certain stakeholders offered to intervene.

My fellow Anambarians, with the level of security Gov. Obiano has achieved in Anambra State, I do not think it is wise for us Anambrarians to vote for someone who will ruin the security we have enjoyed in the last four years.
Electing Nwoye will be like inviting a snake to be a sleeping partner it will be like bringing in termite infested wood into a House, why should we complain when the lizards come for supper!

Nairaland / General / Infrastructure In Anambra West Is Deplorable Says Sen. Andy Uba. by maxynex: 12:24pm On Aug 18, 2017
An aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) , Senator Andy Uba has decried the lack of sufficient infrastructure and the deplorable condition of roads in Oromaetiti and other parts of Anambra West Local Government Area of the state.

Uba who toured the seven local government areas of the Anambra North Senatorial zone promised to transform Anambra State to a land where everything good will excel and also to turn around the fortunes of the party in if elected governor.

The tour which kicked off at Anambra West Local Government Area, saw Uba meeting with supporters from the seven local governments that make up the north senatorial district of the state, namely Anambra West, Anambra East, Oyi, Ayamelum ,Onitsha North, Onitsha South and Ogbaru.

He said he decided to reach out to the grassroots in order to convince them on the need to put forward their best material as the date for the APC primaries draws near.

He said, he did not intend to leave any stone unturned, thus he was ready to travel the entire state to appraise the prevailing situations in the areas which will form the core of his manifesto.

He said he will turn the Anam area of Anambra West, which is an agrarian community into an agricultural city, integrating numerous value chains into the agricultural potentials of the area. This he said would harness the agricultural abundance by building collectives with modern day facilities which will be community run employing at least 2000 youths per community who will be paid by the state government.

He urged party delegates to be peaceful and ignore negative reports spun about his person by certain candidates, describing them as being jittery of his chances.
