Health / Covid 19 Patient Fights Health Officials Who Came To Pick Him Up by mcbillion: 7:53pm On Jul 04, 2020 |
It was an absolute crazy scene when some health workers came to pick up a presumably covid 19 patient who refused to follow them and rather fight them off while cussing them out. A lady who most likely is the "patient's" female relation can be heard crying off camera. This goes to show the health and physical risk faced by health officials tasked with parents pick up, and the relevant authorities are urged to consider providing them with security personnel to forestall situations from escalating to this extent and beyond. https://twitter.com/postsubman/status/1279314473011105792?s=21 |
Health / Who Pays For The Treatment Of Coronavirus Patients In Nigeria? by mcbillion: 7:23pm On May 12, 2020 |
As we all know, seeking for treatment of any disease at hospitals come at a certain cost, and depending on the severity, can be quite expensive. With the current pandemic that is ravaging the globe, it came with a certain peculiarity on the mode of response, various governments have been adopting in its management. The protocol in place for managing and containing the spread of Coronavirus includes contacting the authorities for pickup if certain conditions are met, however, what happens beyond that is unknown. Drugs as we know are quite expensive, let alone the cocktail of drugs that is being used to treat the patients. Another area of expense is feeding of the patients. What about toiletries and other consumables?. These are just few items that needs to be paid for. Who foots the bill? The government or the patients. Some might say donations were made, but with the daily increase in patient number, the money can go just far. |
