Aside checking the requirements of the software you intend to download which is very necessary, as a programmer you should follow trend.

In your own case, try and upgrade your system to 64bits with windows 10 running. because you will always come across issues like this when you want to install some other softwares.

When I started programming I always look for 32bits softwares and thinking windows 7 was the best, Not until my mentor advised me to upgrade my system to windows 10 and 64bits and that was it.
