Yes and no, in some state they've never done such before so they'll just turn you off while in some they've been doing.

Please, for those living outside Lagos, can the neco offices in their location be used for this purpose?

BORING LANDING GIST

We arrived at the MMIA, Lagos by 11am for a Toronto bound flight via Cairo with departure time of 2.25pm on Sunday 25th November. We had five checked-in baggage and two hand luggage with extra back pack and handbag cos we are family of three (Two adults, one infant). All baggage were for clothes and shoes because we decided to cargo our food items (Two bags, 50kg in total) since paying for extra two baggage will set us back by 110k via Egypt airlines. Looking forward to receiving the food items by next week.

We got to the check-in desk and each of the baggage weighed between 23.6kg to 25.9kg. We didn’t reduce the weight as we were asked to settle them for our bags to pass. All in all, we paid 3.5k to pass the overweight checked-in baggage and cabin luggage. Because of our little baby, we requested for Bassinet and we were provided with one when we boarded. Meanwhile, almost 20 family members and friends followed us to the airport and after checking in, we went outside to take pictures and pray for the journey and new life in Maple land.

I declared all the cash (POF in Pounds sterling and $100 note) I have on me and I wasn’t questioned by any officer, everything went smoothly. When we got to the departure gate, we were told that our flight has not arrived from Egypt and we had to wait for some extra minutes. A flight meant to depart at 2.25pm departed at 3.10pm.

On board, we were served the first meal two hours after departure. We occupied two seats while the third seat was vacant, so we had space to put extra stuff and keep them away from the baby. We arrived Egypt after six hours and it was smooth. Had a stop over of 5 hours and we used that time to pray and relax. Neither free Wi-Fi nor good food was at the airport , we just sat there till it was time to board the Toronto bound flight.

We boarded the Toronto bound flight after passing through the security screening and the aircraft looks nice and clean. Our precious extension cable was collected from us. We were provided with a bassinet to put our baby after take-off but we didn't use it because our baby refuse to sleep in it. We just packed some stuff in it. First meal on board came and it was crap for me, had to just eat the meat and drink some juices. To be honest, the journey to Toronto was awesome (12 hours direct from Cairo) but the food was crap. Our baby didn’t allow my wife to rest because she continued suckling from an hungry mother. In all, we were served two times from Egypt to Canada which I believe was bad cos the distant was just too much. My greatest fear was when we were on Atlantic ocean for more than 4 hours, Canada journey is not easy. It requires prayer and patience you had before you got PPR.

We landed at exactly the scheduled time (7am on Monday), got to the first officer and we told her what we had on us. No dairy and meat. Proceeded to another office who asked us if we are landing today and we confirmed that. Collected our passport, COPR and address to send the PR card and asked us told to sit for a while. I was afraid with so many things going through my mind. At last, he called on us to sign our COPR and we heard the golden word, you are now a PERMANENT RESIDENT.

We proceeded to an immigration service desk where they provided us with info about new immigrants programs and went to Service Canada to get our SIN number. We had to wait for like 10 minutes to get it sorted. We were welcomed to Canada in each desk with lovely smile. We proceeded to get our bags waiting on the carousel. From there, we moved to Customs where we declared our goods accompanying and following. I quoted CAD $5000 as food items am expecting and I was asked to sign the necessary documents. We carried over CAD $10k, we declared everything to the last #500 I had with me. When the custom officer converted #500 to Canadian dollars, she said that’s less than two dollars. He now asked me to tell her what that can buy out of curiosity. I told her that can buy my breakfast from a canteen and I will still have balance in Nigeria. She was surprised and at the end, she welcomed us to Canada again and we proceeded to exit.

I was expecting a friend to come pick me up to my temporary host's house but because I couldn’t get Wi-Fi to connect with, had to borrow phone from a nice lady who without objection gave us her phone to call. She was so nice and even wanted to share her mobile hotspot with us but the connection keeps breaking. We eventually took a taxi home and charged $40.

We couldn’t do anything on first day other than to eat, relax and sleep. We will be going out on Tuesday to get SIM card only cos me and my wife already have good phones that will work anywhere in the world. We will also open our bank and start the job hunting.

I don’t have anywhere in mind to stay permanently for now, getting a job will dictate that. However, I will prefer the Prairie region and the West provinces.
To landed seniors, kindly provide me with what I need to know and do during this first week, it must end in PRAISE.

I am staying temporarily at Etobicoke for maximum of two weeks by God's grace.

Kindly manage my boring story unlike Einsteino, who will hold you spellbound with his gist.
I saw those pisors n I was like what? I told mum Affan the only person I'm not seeing there is the oba of our Kingdom, AlhamdullilAh, may this be the beginning of greater things. We awaits the PR card for our 15 points oooo

That's was the same date a friend's own was sent and it has been verified. The contact I have is in there lag office and he kept telling us we should chill that if truly Wes send the quality dept at minna will surely do it, he never collect my friend's detail. WES updated his status on Nov 7th that NECO is verified.

Hi guys,

Please kindly share your success or otherwise with NECO Verification.

Please I don't mean the initial dispatch of the result to WES. I mean the verification from WES after receiving the result from NECO. I heard some people have been on this for 7 week +.

Please, if you also have a contact for CIPM verification, kindly send me a PM as both parties are claiming not to have received any verification email.

Thanks
NECO will do the verification as soon as the mail is received, I can say they are handling the verification at a speed almost to that of the speed of light

Must everybody go to Canada? The craze is becoming too much. Canada, Canada, Canada! Some people will be writing IELTS up to 10 times all in the name of I must leave this country! The ones that manage to pass will run here and be saying, ‘Thank God I finally made it!’. While those that finally get the PPR will not let us hear word, be quoting different dates of the stages, like I care!
You guys are the ones making these developed countries look down on us! IELTS is making the standard of exam more difficult day be day, WES is adding WAEC for ECA, IRCC is increasing minimum POF and cost of application fee! But we are still patronizing them, pumping the money into their economy! By the time you reach there with all the funds you are taking into Canada, you have pumped so much money into a foreign country, money that you cannot generate and send back into your own country Nigeria from where the funds came out from, thus depleting our country of resources.
Cocococo Las Las na scam, abeg leave us is it your own canada

For NECO

Meanwhile to members of the house. So I decided to make enquiry about the NECO verification myself and the following info might be useful b those outside Minna the Niger state capital where their hq is.
1. You pay 1000 into NECO TSA account.
2. You pay another 50naira separately, I repeat SEPARATELY into NECO TSA account for stamp duties. After which a form will be given to you to fill, with photocopy of the certificate.
3. You pay for courier from your state office to MINNA where verification is done. ) though shesaid you can use EMS, but has issues with tracking, however she advice using dhl or UPS). This courier fees depend on your location.

4. You pay for the fees for countering it from NECO head office Minna To WES IN CANADA, which she said she thinks cost 15000. Reporting from Benin to the house.
Thank you.
N:B
Kudos for all those living in Abuja and environs you can just take a trip to minna and solve it easily and also in for the house with New info if available. Thank you
@ the bolded, the state NECO offices dispatch to the hq with the 2k Ems speed post, I don't think you have the option of using DHL, etc,
I didn't pay the 50 naira stamp duty and it was processed so I know nothing about that
People should take note in some states offices they've not been doing transcript processing so they will turn you back, you can just tell them to call hq for directions

Jamezy4u:
Hi House!
Thanks for all your works.

Please, I need help for two things on my evaluation with WES.

1. Has anybody from the University of Ilorin done evaluation here with WES? how long did it take for UniIlorin to send/respond to WES on verification?
Please, do you have any contact within the academic support services or registrar office that one could contact to look into it for me? Or anybody within Ilorin? I did, I don't know the time frame for undergraduate but PG depends on your response to the payment of 5k response fee, all you need to do is notify the PG school about WES update, my contact is the registrar so her contact is way off it

2. Has anybody here sent NECO verification of result to WES? How did you do it? I called NECO and I was told I need to send payment receipt and prepaid Courier envelope to them via courier, which they will use to send my result to WES.
I contacted a courier in Lagos, he told me I need to buy an envelope for 5k to send but NECO or somebody will pay for dispatch in Minna. I think is either he doesn't know what he is saying or there is an element of scam!

Please, I need help on the fast and sure way to do this, am currently not in Nigeria, if not, I could walk into this offices to sort things up. Who I have does not know what to do either. please help.
Just pay 1k into NECO TSA account via remita, print the receipt then walk into a NECO office, tell them you want to process your transcript, you'll have to go there with 17k500, 3 copies of certificatesand 3 copies of filled WES request form with your reference number on them. Submit all these, fill a NECO request form and you'll be given sum numbers to call in Minna for follow up after a week.

Thanks

Canada ITA - Feb 7th
AOR - May 5th
MEP - Like one week after
RPRF - May 23rd ( Although, I paid it upfront)

LVO gang when I called IRCC

I applied from the UK.

1st GCMS - JUNE 6th
2nd GCMS - July 25th (yet to receive it)
3rd GCMS - Last week Friday

From AOR to PPR, I was refused Canada visit visa, USA and New Zealand students visas. Within the same period, I got one USA student visa and one New Zealand student visa. Don't ask me how.

Thanks to my beautiful senior HappyTBaby, Newmum, Elfann, in fact, everyone on Nairaland because my worries were sine qua non.

As they've already said, it is not my PPR, it is our PPR.

Please, where can I get cheap flight? Saskatchewan bound

U can land with like $5k. Then transfer the rest in bits if that would be better.

Registered Nurse is usually 4 years i.e Degree in Nursing, but some Universities offer programs that lets you complete it in 2 years if you have a degree. You would be required to pass some biological sciences courses before class starts.

Licensed Practical Nurse is 2 years. Offered in some colleges.

Personal Support Worker/Health Care Aid: 4 to 6 months

Some smaller cities or provinces would employ and train people to become psw without the certificates e.g this is common in Winnipeg. Previously common in Calgary too, but now competition is fiece for psw jobs in Calgary and employers often ask for the certificate.

You can also try apply for chemistry/chemist jobs when you land. There are a few around on jobsites. My organization (a Provincial Government) for example has a vacancy for an Entry Level Chemist currently posted on our internal job site.
If no one applies by the 15th of next month, it would be thrown to the street. Starting wage is $39 an hr with lots of benefits and healthy pension plan. Requirement is just a Bachelor in Chemistry or a diploma in Chemical Technology. If it's thrown out to the street, I would send you a pm.
Please I'm a chemist planning to migrate but yet to receive ITA. I will like to know the bridging programmes available for someone like me
