The executive of NASU wish to state in clear terms that we are completely oblivious of the branch Chairman's action today Thursday, 13th August 2020. on the floor of ASUU congress. Executives position from the onset of this furore between Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Wale Babalakin has been to stay clear.
As of yesterday, NASU secretary in person of Comrade Ayooluwa Aderibigbe only informed the executive on our platform that, Chairman was to attend a meeting of committee of Chairmen to review the process and legality behind removal of Prof. Ogundipe from office as the Vice Chancellor. This morning after a brief meeting of all Chairmen at ASUU secretariat, the executive were expected to converge at the Secretariat to review the outcome of the meeting and to keep members abrest, however, the branch Chairman hurriedly left the few executive behind and head for the ASUU congress.
All efforts made to engage the Chairman to seek the consent of the executive were totally ingnored, as he did not heed to any of the executive advise. The executive is as bemused as the general members of our great union, and we wish to state unequivocally that the Unilag NASU branch Chairman's actions to represent NASU at the ASUU congress today 13th August 2020 was not with the consent of the executive, we can not and we will not at anytime undermine power of our respectable members. All inconvenience is highly regretted. Thank you all.

I wonder what ASUU problem is. Are they the only Union in the University of Lagos? Is Ashiru a council member? No wonder they were desperate to win the Council election for Laja. It looks as if Ashiru is on an errand. He is behaving like an Academics that wants position or promotion he does not merit.
