MrNipplesLover: Being a businessman or woman is the way to go but it is not everybody who is going to be a business person...
Most people would take a white collar job over business anytime, any day...

He has been in that company for 10 years now, and na 250k dem don increase him salary to...

I know nothing about una monthly office work - blah blah blah...

Meerahbel: Thank you for your this question.
Risk=Rich Fear is what is holding many people from reaching the peak.
You can save by either living below your means. However savings CANNOT make you rich.
Let assume you just got a job, you can squat with friends or stay with parents and when you want to get your own apartment go for a single room not a self contained or if you lucky the jobs gives you accommodation (you are to left with only the expanse to feed yourself) With 60k, save 20% that's N20,000 a year would give you 240,000, that's if accommodation is provided but if no accommodation is unavailable you can do 5-10k per month, you can decide to buy a plot of land or invest in crypto, stocks market most especially foreign stocks (because earning in naira is no longer profitable), Treasury bill, or FG savings bonds (5000 to start by the way and you get interest quarterly) Your return can be used to pay monthly bill in the case of FG savings bonds school fees though or professional qualifications exams.
Invest FIRST, then SPEND the rest.
Everything is all about planing, the day you start taking actions and stop complaining or giving excuses you would see the difference.
Another cheat code to wealth is in Real Estate. For instance, a land I bought for 800,000 in 2015, today that land is worth more than 15 million naira, you can decide to sell and go but an acre some other place. When you buy the acre, you self a plot or two and go to another place buy an acre and RINSE & REPEAT.
I am invested in the following; 1. Crypto 2. Stocks market (both local and foreign) I use trove for foreign stocks, if you interested use the link on my profile to get started we both get free shares. 3. Real Estate 4. Nigerian Treasury Bills 5. FG savings bond 6. REITs (silent money spinner) 7. Remote jobs - By next year I will no longer do 9-5 anymore, I done with onsite jobs 8. My Spa business
No rich person depends on one source of income.
I hope this helps. Only you You must be close to being a billionaire 1 Like |

What was the minimum wage of most European nations, after the devastation of the second World War? Zero in most cases as rebuilding was the agenda then. Same as rebuilding should be the agenda for Nigerians now if we are smart and realistic instead of thinking we should be comparibg the kia car we own to the finest Mercedes Benz our established neighbours has.
I consider those European nations, like the UK Etal, to be at the same level with Nigerian of today, or even better, after they emerged from the second world war.
For example, they had severely destroyed infrastructure, water supply problem, sanitation challenges, severely disrupted power supply etc etc. Is that not the State Nigeria is in today?
Some of you don't wish to accept reality when you simplistically compare Nigeria in 2024 to UK, France and Germany while never taking into account the national sacrifice the citizens of those nations made, in their most troubled days, to get where they are today.
I just don't know what makes some of you comfortable comparing Nigeria to the West in 2024. Perhaps you have never visited developed nation to note how far ahead they are and the effort and sacrifices everyone there, from leaders and followers, put in to create the nations we all now envy today and wish to 'japa' to.
Despite the severe destruction war caused, most of Europe was thriving by 1970 which was 25 years after the second World War ended in 1945. A testimony to the spirit and dedication of Europeans to see the big picture and make sacrifices to achieve it.
What progress has Nigeria and most African nation made since they gained independence 6 or more decades ago? Face reality. We are not ready. When we are, we will see the big picture and, like Europeans, we will be ready to make the appropriate sacrifice to get where we need to.
The challenges of Europe, after the war, spurred on Europeans to be innovation, hardworking and to seek local solutions for local problems . They embraced farming to eat. They gained skills to do more for themselves, like bricklaying and road construction, rather than expect their comatose economy to do it all for them. They embraced scientific research and innovation to provide solution and address challenges.
Our challenges, not caused by Tinubu, has only made Nigerians show the very opposite of the spirit that revived Europe after the war. Bretton Woods helped but ordinary European folks made the sacrificial difference. In contrast, Nigerians only know to complain and demand from the government without ever thinking they could and should be part of the solution. SmartPolician: Yes, go on Hot Nigerian Jobs and apply directly to potential employers or HR companies. I have seen jobs that pay 1 million per month on that site. Bros, 100 - 150k no be salary for this economy again.
However, make sure you have an attractive CV, detailing your relevant work experience, skills and accomplishments.
While writing your achievement/experience (in CV and cover letter), focus on numbers. Numbers trigger everyone, including you. For instance, if you are reading a job description, you are always eager to see the salary (numbers!). đđđ
That's the same way your prospective employer will be compelled to contact you when you state that you grew the revenue of your former company from 500k to 5 million!
You are not qualified for every job. Tailor your CV in a way that it satisfies your area of speciality. Your CV and cover letter speak for you in your absence, so it has to be worth it. Get a professional to craft your CV and cover letter for you.
If you have no skills, go and get one and probably volunteer with a company to gain experience. These things help!
Google possible interview questions and know their answers. The moment you do this, the sky is your starting point.
Good luck What kind of skills will you recommend a fresh graduate just getting to the labor market to get? . |

Teenaira:
I think we are rather just mixing up everything. Now the true position is that the value of your currency is effectively a measure of your country's productive capacity. What we have before now is a fake exchange rate where government continues to defend or support the currency. Devaluing your currency have its merit and demerit. When you devalue your currency, you will have inflation. However, inflation should ordinarily encourage increased local production. This is the real area where we are having problems. If the price of yams go up as a result of increased demand normally people should go into yam cultivation to cash out on the demand and high price. But let tell ourselves the truth, nobody wants to farm. Go to Europe that doesn't have land and see what is called agriculture. That is why food is cheap in the developed countries. Our people will go to Europe and they will be employed in farms but they can't farm while in Nigeria. I am not convinced that Nigeria should not be able to feed ourselves. We continue to import all manners of nonsense and we don't export anything and expect our currency to be strong. It is not a matter of PMB or GEJ or Tinubu. If we can produce even what we eat alone, Naira will appreciate. ânobody wants to farmâ . You are wrong pls Not everyone one farms but the little who do have we been able to protect them ? And no one is willing to go to farm if they canât be protected. These are also reasons why food prices are high. |

rayopt: This thing is difference of ideology, which is normal in politics all around the world.
Buhari is a conservative. He prefer slow growth in the form of defend the naira, while slowly encouraging local production and ending importation. The naira was stable but didn't we see the negative effects of this on importation?
Tinubu is a progressive. He prefers radical change for long-term benefits. He did not limit importation but allows naira to compete freely on international market. Local producers will gain but consumers of international products will continue to suffer. Unfortunately, most of us consume so much international products.
Any which way, it is a long ride and I hate to criticize anybody because I honestly don't have the answers to Nigeria problems. Most of yall don't. Una only sabi to complain. One thing I know is this: any smart person who earn some dollar, farm majority of his food, and reduce buying international products will live like a king right now. I donât understand the reduce buying international product aspect , how many items do we even produce locally?? Moreover Nigerians donât care whether a product is produced locally or internationally , they only care which is cheaper. |

Nobody had ever destroyed Yoruba properties in any part of Nigeria for voting from the 1960s Action group, AD, ACN and now APC or bothered mc olumo, bayo onanuga, fani kayode etc for threatening igbos not to vote in an election. The reason Sanwo olu gave was structural problems of the buildings but Dr Vwaere Diaso died at the Lagos general hospital from structural problems of the hospital resulting in collapse of the elevator . This is a hospital they couldnât upgrade from the standard IBB left it as head of state when Lagos was capital and tinubu and his minnows have looted Lagos for more than 20 years without upgrading something as basic as a general hospital but would use the same excuse to demolish igbo market because they didnât vote APC..same igbos had their son Humphrey Nwosu shun tribalism to defy IBB to announce June 12 results to show States Abiola won, without Nwosu Abiolaâs win would have been mere rumors told in beer parlors in Nigeria. Fast foward to 1997 Abacha had lined up all top Yoruba generals and top people in government for execution by firing squad because they planned a coup against him.Generals oladipo diya, Abdulkarim Adisa, tajudeen olarewaju, Prof Femi Adekunle etc weâre lined up for execution and another igbo man a clergy cardinal Arinze shunned tribalism and ran to the pope and reported Abacha to pope that Abacha wanted to kill those men for a phantom coup. Pope came to Nigeria for first time since 1981 to plead with Abacha not to kill those men. Abacha postponed the killings. Pope later sent his good friend former PLO leader yasser arafat in June of same 1998. Arafat was the last man Abacha saw before he died mysteriously early hours of next day by maybe divine providence of some sort . If you look across Nigeria you will find igbos are the only people that go all over Nigeria and build houses and raise families- in practice nobody since creation of Nigeria has made more effort at integration in the mere geographical expression (according to Awolowo) than igbos but a section of Yorubas like Sanwo olu and co have been making consistent efforts through their acts to gaslight disintegration but when e go set it will blow up on his head and that of other innocent people SMH You guys donât have work again, and to think itâs adult behind these accounts Seun, see what they are turning your forum to |
