Culture / Re: Which Tribe Bears Foreign Names The Most? by MegaMan2020: 5:56pm On Jan 07, 2013 |
Has to be the Igbos. They are legendary for spurning Igbo names in exchange for more western sounding names. 2 Likes |

Culture / Re: What Do Africans Think Of Black Americans? by MegaMan2020: 5:43pm On Jan 07, 2013 |
Not the type I would hang around with for the most part. That goes for Caribbeans as well. Some are nice people though. I justs stick with my own, mostly because of culture and upbringing. 1 Like |

One_Naira: I have nothing against AA's but I believe Liberia is an example of the bolded. Didn't the AA's enslave native Liberians when they got out there? |
Culture / Re: African-Americans And Their Igbo Roots by MegaMan2020: 4:57pm On Jan 07, 2013 |
I think Igbos should go back to their Igbo roots first, don't you? And who decided most African Americans were Igbos anyway? Weren't many other tribes from different countries in Africa exported to the States or was it just the Igbos? Come to think of it I see more African American fawn over Yoruba culture/religions/traditions that Igbo. I beleieve there is even a Yoruba village out their in the states lol, imagine that. |
Culture / Re: African Americans - More Accepted By Igbo Or Yoruba Families by MegaMan2020: 4:55pm On Jan 07, 2013 |
Probably Igbo. they dont really have much culture or tradition of their own so they are more likely to marry other tribes and African Americans and adopt their cultures. I'm a Yoruba man and even though my family have no problem against others I doubt they would be too interested in me marrying an African American/Caribbean woman. It's all a culture thing at the end of the day. Marry Yoruba women, raise Yoruba children, continue Yoruba traditions. That seems to be the idea and I have no problem sticking with it. |
Culture / Re: You Might Want To Know That We Yorubas Are Part Of The Lost Tribe Of Israel by MegaMan2020: 4:43pm On Jan 07, 2013 |
Lol we Yorubas are from isreal? No chance. We are West Africans to the core and out history is here. We're not like common Igbos that have no history so they try to claim Isreal lol. 1 Like |

I don't really know much about Somalis and to be honest I don't really care. They live over in the East. i live in the West. What's my business with them? |

aribisala0: "Blue Chip" is something they say in America. I have quite a bit of family over there. I agree with what you said about him wanting to be taken seriously. He's a silly fool at best. |
I don't need to scream it... haha CNN and BBC are already doing just that... It's only a matter of time, slowly but surely
CNN in America and BBC in England? Where were the English and Americans during the war that the Igbos started? They didn't care then and they don't care now. Five years from now Igbos will be in the same place. Nothing will change! |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 3:55am On Jan 06, 2013 |
kingoflag: he probably doesn't even live in Nigeria. Who says "blue chip" in Nigeria? He's probably just another Igbo living in America trying to mouth off about things he knows nothing about. |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 3:54am On Jan 06, 2013 |

Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 3:45am On Jan 06, 2013 |
manny4life: i don't care what the bible says. The man in Washington DC won't be able to relate to the man in ABA. It's twop different worlds. You agitating for a Biafra land in Washington is pathetic. when Igbos in SW and the North are just happy where they are. |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 3:43am On Jan 06, 2013 |
PROUD-IGBO: I can't speak for the North but Igbos have spread from Lagos to other parts of Yorubaland. From the villages of Ibadan to Ogun state. Playing the Lagos card is sad. Igbos are all over Yorubaland nowadays. lets just be honest with ourselves. Igboland is not a nice place to live. if it was Igbos would go back there and Yorubas and Northerners would be there in numbers too. The fact is Yorubas and Hausas aren't there in big numbers and for good reason. Financially it makes little sense. Call me tribalist all you want. I'm just telling the truth. |

Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 3:38am On Jan 06, 2013 |
manny4life: Lol at you from DC. I'm speaking about what i know. What do you know all the way from Washington? The Biafra is dead. Stop agitating for something you wouldn't jump on the plane from America and fight for. Loudmouth! |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 3:35am On Jan 06, 2013 |
aribisala0: That's the problem I have with him also. He tries to hard to pretend as if he knows what he's talking about. He comes across as stupid and naive for the most part. |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 3:32am On Jan 06, 2013 |
manny4life: It's just the truth. no one is forcing Igbos to move back to the North after Northerns kill them. Nothing is stopping Igbos from NOT moving to yorubaland and adopting Yoruba culture and language. They are doing it themselves. |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 3:29am On Jan 06, 2013 |
Onlytruth: Lol imagine you telling me how Nigeria works. I know exactly how Nigeria works. I've lived here most of my life. I know Yorubas never wanted Obasanjo but he was put in power because at the time North had a firm grip on the counry. It's not the same anymore. It seems that you don't understand how things work because you're yet to tell me who this mystical Igbo man is that will change Nigeria. And if he will change Nigeria how come he hasn't changed Igboland? |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 3:20am On Jan 06, 2013 |
Onlytruth: That's the point I'm making. Who is this Igbo president? It's easy for those in the diaspora to mouth off but lets be honest. Have you seen igboland lately in person? Igbos in Igboland can't even select good govornors! That's not a diss, that's the truth. Who will the president be? We won't simply give you a president JUST because you're Igbo. That makes lil to no sense. Igbo politicians can't even get along for the most part. Imagine just handing the presidency over lol |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 3:14am On Jan 06, 2013 |
manny4life: Because you're agitating for a Biafraland but you live all the way in Washington DC !!! Whilst Igbos in the SW and North are doing everything in their power to stay in the SW and North lol. I speak to Igbos everyday you silly fool, they live in my community like everyone else. Did I mention they don't speak igbo but proudly flaunt their Yoruba (I think i did ). Like I said before. Stop mouthing off from 3000 miles away. You don't represent the Igbo man that settled his entire family in the SW or the North! |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 3:00am On Jan 06, 2013 |
manny4life: Lol at Biafrans. You live in Washington DC you loudmouth. What do you know about Biafra? This is what cracks me up about you igbos in the diaspora. You make all this noise without concern for your Igbo borthes here in Yorubaland and the North. They don't care about the Biafrea you fool. They care about money and living in a safe environment. The ones in the SW are safe for the most part. Stop mouthing off from 3000 miles away! |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 2:56am On Jan 06, 2013 |
Onlytruth: If the Yorubas don't travel abroad we stay in yorubaland for the mot part. If Igbos don't travel abroad they do their best to get out of Igboland. Yes, i know Yorubas are more home minded then igbos. Can you imagine Yorubas being afraid to come back to Yorubaland for Christmas? loool |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 2:51am On Jan 06, 2013 |
Is manny4life from Nigeria or Washingon DC? he/she is talking for igbos but he/she is in DC. What rubbish lol |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 2:48am On Jan 06, 2013 |
manny4life: Who's stopping Igbos from moving back to Igboland though? That's my point. i don't think you understand what I am saying because you aren't being honest yourself. Most Igbos left Igboland because they don't want to live there. That's just the truth. I would be more then happy for them all to leave Yorubaland but they seem comfortable where they are. |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 2:31am On Jan 06, 2013 |
manny4life: My point is do the Igbos outside of Igboland even want to leave? Because it seems to me as if they don't. They don't even want to speak Igbo for the most part but they are very comfortable with their children speaking fluent Yoruba/Hausa . Do they really want to go because it seems to me they do everything in their power to stay away from the East. |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 2:27am On Jan 06, 2013 |
Prof Corruption: Igbo 2015 project again? I remember the 03 and 07 ones lol. Now the Igbos are saying 2015 lol. imagine that. That's why I don't take them seriously. After 2015 they will say 2020. It's all hot air. They won't get a president because they will sell each other out in the end like they always do. When it comes to politics the Igbos are easy to handle. Flash a bit of money and offer him/her a place SOMEWHERE in the government and he'll sell out eventually. |
Politics / Re: Igbo President Will Refine And Rebrand Nigeria by MegaMan2020: 2:19am On Jan 06, 2013 |
Onlytruth: It's the Igbos that don't want to leave Nigeria. Maybe YOU and the jobless crybabies on nairaland want to go but ask your brothers in the SW to go with you...The same brothers that you can't even get to leave the "killing grounds" in the North lol. One day you will be honest with yourself when it comes to the problems concerning your tribe. |
