@OGG, the best NSEMPA acknowledged stock picker, though I do not and had never follow your picks. My humble view.
"There appears to be no investment value in a call that lacks a specific timeframe. It arbitrarily targets all listed equities on the exchange. A genuine stock picker with a proven track record must demonstrate their skills within a three-month period. Any claims beyond this timeframe are likely self-promotional and indirectly market to uninformed subscribers. You can benefit forum members by sharing a screenshot of your wealth portfolio, which would convince more novices to join your subscription service. As a licensed financial advisor, which you are, showcasing your portfolio's performance would silence skeptics and encourage them to utilise your services.

Today's Top Volume Trades

Conservative FVE for PRESCO is @ N561.9 at present, so the stock is a buy @ CMP.

But as you know; I always prefer to be an "early bird".
Why didn't you key in before now? PRESCO was trading for less than N57 when I put out the post above.
Someone sent me a mail earlier asking if CHAMS is a buy @ the CMP, and my response was simple; why didn't you take position when I was practically screaming about the stock @ 20--21k.

The reason some folks will argue about the value accretive stance of an asset when it's ridiculously underpriced but turn around to praise the same asset after it must delivered triple-digit return is the inability to proficiently and efficiently interpret financial statements.

I did highlight the potential in PRESCO @ at about the same time I issued an outperform rating on TRANSCORP @ 97k. Even @ N1.3, I remained resolute in my highlight on TRANSCORP but some dude tagged them an epistle.
Today everyone thinks that both coys are the next best thing after sliced bread.

Not surprised though! Afterall, people also argued with me about FIDSON @ N1.1, PZ @ N4+, WEMA @ 55-58k, NEIMETH @ 38--40k, UACN @ N4, GUINESS @ N14+, UNILEVER @ N10+, ,GSK @ N5, UPDC @ 70k, STERLING @ N1.4, ACEESS/UBA swaps @ N8--9.7, ZENITH @ N9+, GTB @ N17... to mention a few.
Today most folks are excited about the present and future prospects of these companies.
I recall stating in very clear terms why I would OKOMU for PRESCO or assign a much huge potential weighting (ref:70/30) in favour of the latter when the former was trading for near 80% above it.

Again someone called it an epistle because according to him, PRESCO didn't pay a good enough dividend.

In recent times some have also argued about certain coys

Allowing PZ a soft-landing delisting would spell contagious effects on the exchange. The body language of Unilever is pointing towards a similar move. Already, they have stripped Unilever of some prime assets; the final blow would be delivered once the SEC allows a soft-landing delisting for PZ.

Mcy and myself discussed something as this the other day
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by megawealth01: 4:23pm On Jun 30
Mankind2024:

PZ is not alone; MTNN also posted negative shareholders' funds, negative equity, and negative retained earnings. The minority shareholders who insisted on a N100.00 payout must have known the worth of PZ, either through insider information or by default. The news shouldn't cause dumping; otherwise, the cowboys would mop it up without any remorse. It is the same macroeconomic issue quoted by MTNN - foreign exchange loss - that also affects PZ.

This is the TRUTH

They wanted to delist at N23 buy-out.
The minorities demanded for N100 and cried to SEC to object.
So the cowboyz switched to Plan B.
When they're done reducing the company to an empty shell, the shellholders will be begging for the N23 if still available.

As E dey go it will reduce to below #20 sef

Well, it depends, if there are no pressure from outside.
Recently, SEC rejected the buy-out of minority shareholders and delisting by PZ Cussons.
Can they do same for Oando? I don't know for sure.

Even if Oando want to delist, the exit price can never be the crazy N7.07. It has to be much higher than that.
People who bought on the market when the price was N3-N5 would still make some money!

I still have good quantity of Oando although na part of my huge gains from gambling the stock...

I'm not negative or positive about Oando... I'm just watchful sha

You get it, perfectly!
Oando shareholders have been through very difficult times. And now that there seems to be some hope, this delisting issue has cropped up. That is why some shareholders have vowed never to allow the delisting succeed. Hope SEC would be equally determined to protect shareholders interests.

And you think they can stop that oga at the top if he wants it delisted?

Or is there any other thing you want to hear from my mouth?

Minority can't do anything sha because they don't have the FINANCIAL muscle to flex with oga at the top if they do desire to DELIST...

My point is, some investors may consider the future prospects of a company and take a position in it. It is part of the risks involved in investing!
I am not saying Oando is good stocks or bad!

Every listed company/stocks currently struggling can also have a turnaround like Transcorp or any other company did.
Oando's problems started more than a decade ago when it was rumoured that some politicians like James Ibori etc. had some stake in it.
As a downstream company it paid dividends consistently, paying N4 per share for FY2007; N3 per share FY 2009;FY2010 & FY2011. The least was N1 per share FY 2014.
The change in business from downstream to upstream and the acquisition of assets of multinationals like Conocco Philips apparently took a huge toll on the company's cash position which affected its operations. Again, numerous issues with major shareholders and SEC also dragged the company down. It is not easy for a company to pay the equivalent of USD600m to one single shareholder and not feel the impact.
However, the company seems to have overcome these challenges with a new lease of life and the strategic acquisition of ENI/NAOC assets. It also paid off most of its commercial loans.
Afrexim Bank directors are no fools to give a loan of USD800m to a company that has no good prospects. Recently, the company pre-financed the FGN with about USD500m loan. These are signs that there could be something coming up that we may not be fully aware of as at now.
If not for the issue of delisting, Oando would be selling well above N25 by now. Unless we are saying that things will never ever improve in the company because Wale Tinubu is the CEO! He was the CEO when the company was paying dividends.

Bottom line:
Every investment appraisal methodology (e.g. past financial results or future earnings, performance etc.) has its merits and downside. Chose the one that favours you; float with your money or sink with it!

That name eh... Well we are waiting for OANDO'S homecoming
