Politics / Who Are The Real Northerners by Menh: 11:32am On Jul 30, 2022 |
My Nothern friends should read this WHO ARE THE REAL NORTHERNERS? We have been innundated with the word North. Northern Elders, Arewa Consultative Forum, Northern Governors Forum etc. But really we are asking , "who are these Northerners?" Let us borrow a bit from History. When Obasanjo as President gave Non-Fulanis sensitive positions in his regime, the sultan of Sokoto went with some Fulani irredentists like Ango Abdullahi , and confronted him, and made allegations that the North was being marginalized. Baffled , Obasanjo querried them, "Are Non Fulanis in the North , not Northerners?" The sultan said, "NO, they are not." Obasanjo nodded his head to learn what he probably had not known before. So we ask, " Who really are these Northerners?" We have not finished excavation of the historical precedences on this pyhrric question. Cast You mind back to December 1979, if you are wise enough then, to the very night of primary party elections of NPN. Clearly, Ambassador Maitama Sule, the erudite Hausa man emerged as NPN flag bearer. Some islamic - Fulani juggernauts led by sultan Attahiru of the Sokoto caliphate, said clearly that the Choice of Maitama Sule was not acceptable to the North. Parallel Meeting was held that night to substitute Maitama Sule with less known and hardly outspoken Alh. Shehu Shagari, a muslim Fulani, and the said North was after all, pacified. So we ask , "who really is a Northerner in Nigeria?" In 2015 , the North rallied round and confronted President Goodluck Jonathan that power must shift to the North, to Buhari in particular, being a Fulani, inorder to maintain a Democracy supposed to be founded on Justice and fairplay. After seven years of the (mis)rule by the same Buhari, the same North said that zoning of Presidency to the South is undemocratic, condemning zoning entirely as being anti-democracy. And some of them like El Rufai are telling us that it not about religion but competence! In 1953 when Aminu Kano , a typical Hausa man, upstaged the mysticism of the North to found Northern Elements Progressive Union (NEPU), Sir Ahmadu Bello, a Fulani , who had founded Northern Peoples Congress (NPC) clearly condemned Aminu Kano, calling him an Anti-North propagandist. Until Bello died in 1966, both were sworn enemies. So we ask, "who really are these Northerners?" Maybe we should exploit the indelibility of history to proffer solution. On October 12 , 1960, just eleven days after independence, the National Parrot Newspaper, Ahmadu Bello gave the beeline answer to the poking question by quoting Ahmadu Bello who said, "This new nation called Nigeria is the inheritance of the Fulanis given to them by their great grand father , Uthmandan Fodio. We shall use the Northern minorities as Conquered people, and the South as willing tools, until we dip Koran into the Atlantic ocean." The fact that you cannot re - write history, is a fact of life. Here in this similitude of a treatise, Ahmadu Bello, the Fulani maestro of the North, who prided himself as the great grand son of Uthman Dan Foddio, defined in no unclear terms who a Northerner really is. So, I am very sorry for unsettling your peace and peaceable mien to be asking the convoluted , but clearly answered question. We are not making a detour , neither is it a decoy to say that North is Fulani , and Fulani is the North. Recall that when one Governor of Kaduna State , a Fulani, was selected for the post of Vice President, whose Deputy was a Southern Kaduna man, it was a tug of war for the Fulanis to allow for a Non-Fulani to govern Kaduna State, and could have had their way if not the seeming immutability of the constitution. Recall that in the same Kaduna State in 1979, Alh. Balarabe Musa, a staunch talakawa politician and an able follower of Aminu Kano, a Hausa muslim, was impeached on frivolous reasons to paveway for another muslim, this time a Fulani , to be the authentic Governor of Kaduna State, as if Balarabe was not authentically elected. This was done to please the North. The vexatious cloud of contortion in the whole scenario is the cultural vulnerability of the so called Northern minority politicians to be used willy-nilly to dash the hope of their own people. Some Northern Non-Fulani Governors and politicians from the Northcan die for Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar respectively, but they cut the tails of their fellow Northern tribesmen to please their feudal masters - the Fulanis - in order to do so. Now let us place the Biafran war on the slaughter slab vis a viz the so called Northern minorities. It was these same Northern minorities that really fought the war for their overlords called Fulanis. Yakubu Gowon, Martin Adamu, Theophilus Danjuma, Zamani Lekwot, David Mark, Joshua Dogonyaro, and host of others, were used to prosecute the war. When "real Northerners" were done with Gen Gowon , they removed him for their own in Murtala Ramat Mohammed. That coup was used as step-up to launch an ethnic cleansing of Non-Fulanis in the Nigerian military, which ideological obscenity has persisted till date in Nigerian military and paramilitary. The sobriquet of One North, One Destiny, One People is a lie from the pit of hell. Is the North monolithic? How porous is this dictum as a catch phrase. "Arewa" is Hausa word for North. Recall , it is not a Fulani word. Why ? Hausa is by far, the most populous in the entire North, but they are voiceless. The Fulanis are very few , not more than 6 million, but they are in control politically and economically even though they are not aboriginous Nigerians. So, a Hausa word must be used, not a Fulani word, to galvanize support for the whole North, so as to consolidate on their power. This is the racket of cultural nudity in Northern Nigeria from Uthman Dan Fodio time which has served its purpose very well. And they would call all Non-Muslims, including those from the North as pagans, "Kafiris". Well, They have their north, and we have another North. Copied 1 Like 1 Share |

Nigerian Gang B.l.a.c.k A.x.e Sends Members to Ireland Banks, IT Firms to Move €14m Realised From Fraud’ The B.l.a.c.k A.x.e , a Nigerian confraternity, has been found to have infiltrated banks and IT firms in Ireland with its members so it could successfully launder over €14 million, being proceeds of various fraudulent schemes. According to The Irish Sun, the organisation sent people to the Irish institutions to help in moving the funds, mostly in cash, realised from its global operations which include romance fraud and other fraudulent schemes. Under Operation Skein, an investigation into worldwide invoice-redirect fraud in Ireland, over 400 suspects have been identified by The Garda, the country’s economic crime bureau. Close to 100 arrests have also been made through the help of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Interpol. “The gang are massive and they sent hundreds of people to Ireland to facilitate their scams,” a source said. “They send people here to open accounts, work in banks and in firms that can help them launder the proceeds of their criminality.” Latest statistics from the Irish bureau revealed that 31 cases of fraud were recorded with a total loss of €812,715 by victims between January and May this year. It was further revealed that 23 out of the victims were female while the other eight were male. Most of the victims were said to have met the fraudsters on dating sites and applications. Giuseppe Diviccaro, a 45-year-old Italian popularly called The Banker, is believed to be working for the in the scheme and has been arrested by Irish authorities. Politics / The Beheading Of Gideon Akaluka In Kano - The Involvement Of A Northern Elite by Menh: 12:57am On May 15, 2022 |
THE Nigerian Bar Association’s dis-inviting of Nasir El-Rufai from debasing its platform at its last conference due to the pressure of open bar initiative that a man who has outright disregard for the rule of law is not a good teacher for lawyers on the subject is a good example of constructing amoral finishing post for a society. A major reason for the festering of impunity in our non-country is the collapse of all moral columns that make people commit all crimes and go on to become Very Important Personalities (VIPS). One of such VIPs, who has an unresolved murder allegation hanging on his neck, is Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who was removed as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and dethroned as the Emir of Kano. Since he escaped paying for the crime of alleged murder in 1995, he has occupied many important posts in the country and he mounts every platform to talk down on the country and abuse all those he can pick on at his garrulous best. He was at it again on the 60th Independence anniversary of Nigeria when he mounted the platform of the Convenant Christian Centre. This time round, he lambasted identity groups in the country who he accused of representing only themselves and their families. His prescription for the country was that every citizen has to be worthy representative of their beliefs, religions and groups. But if this were a country that makes all citizens account for their actions, no matter their status, beliefs and regions, where will Sanusi have been today? In 1995, a group of nine Wahabists were alleged to have committed murder in Kano. A report in 2012 by Pointblanknews alleged that Gideon Akaluka, a young Igbo trader, allegedly desecrated the Koran. He was arrested after his wife allegedly used pages of the Koran as toilet paper for her baby. “After he was locked up by the police, a group of Muslim fundamentalists broke into the jail, beheaded Akaluka, and paraded his bodiless head around the streets of Kano.” The medium went on to make some earth-shaking revelations. “Pointblanknews.com investigation revealed the alleged role Sanusi, an alleged Boko Haram sympathiser, and proponent of the controversial Islamic Bank, played in the murder of Akaluka, and why the Abacha regime decided to lock him up for two years for the murder of Akaluka. “Sources hinted that shortly after returning from Khartoum, Sudan where he earned a degree in Sharia and Islamic studies, at the International University of Africa, Sanusi became a recluse and immersed himself in the Koran and became a teacher of the Hadith as espoused by the Wahabbists.” “Wahhabism is an ultra-conservative branch of Sunni Islam. It is a religious movement among fundamentalist (with an aspiration to return to the primordial fundamental Islamic sources: Qu’ran, Hadeeth and Scholarly consensus (Ijma)) of Islamic believers. Wahhabism was a popular revivalist movement instigated by an 18th century theologian, Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (1703-1792). A source said, “when Sanusi returned from Sudan where he associated with very extreme personalities, he was not a happy man. He was treated like an outcast in royal circles because his grandfather was eposed as Emir of Kano. So his anger grew. “During that period, the incident of desecration of the Koran by the Akalukas surfaced. “ According to our source, during that period the Abacha government was not comfortable with the activities of the extremists in Kano, who they view with suspicion. The regime, it was gathered, silently assassinated a lot of them,” said our source. “When Akaluka was locked up, Sanusi and eight others allegedly mobilised some extremist mob who stormed the prison and killed Akaluka. The regime identified the masterminds and so mandated its hit squad to eliminate the nine, including Sanusi. Pointblanknews.com gathered that eight of the masterminds were assassinated by Abacha, but for the intervention of former First Bank chairman, and father of Christmas Day bomber, Alhaji Umar Mutallab and others. It was Muttallab and the rest who were heavy sponsors of Islamic activities who prevailed on Abacha to spare Sanusi. They are argued that since he has gone through a lot, treated like a pariah in the royal circles because his grandfather was deposed, he should be spared. So, they decided to remove him from Kano to Sokoto where he was locked up for two years,” said the source. It was further learnt that after his release from prison, Sanusi was handed over to Mutallab who pushed him into banking because he (Sanusi) had a degree in Economics from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU). From there, he moved to the United Bank for Africa, and the First Bank, from where he rose quietly until the late President Umaru Yar’Adua recruited him to head CBN and spearhead the introduction of the Islamic Bank.” A report by Karl Maier for the Independent of London on August 16, 1995 with the title “Beheading Stirs Nigerian tension” had this worrying perspective from religious leaders: “Anger over Nigeria’s economic collapse, the result of instability, rampant corruption and mismanagement by 12 years of military rule, runs deep in Kano. “Whenever you find people not properly employed, there is no other way to express yourself, because you have the police, and the emirs and their agents looking for troublemakers,” said Professor Mahadi. “So the most important thing is to express this in Islam.” Observers from both sides of the ethnic and religious divide blame Nigeria’s military authorities for worsening the crisis. “The military have always played this card very well,” said Fr Bagobiri. “Because the whole thing started during the [Ibrahim] Babangida regime. That was when the religious divide became very strong.” The government’s disastrous handling of the Akaluka affair is a case in point. Mr (Maitama) Sule, normally a defender of General Sani Abacha’s military regime, describing it as “experienced and responsible”, was outraged by the incident. “I can’t understand how in a society where we have a government, the police and judiciary, that a group of people take the law into their own hands, go to the prison, break into the prison, and get somebody out of his cell, cut off his head, and take the head around the next day with impunity.” Observers like Father Kukah see the sinister hand of the military and the Northern elite behind the trouble. “Let’s be clear: there are Nigerians who have invested heavily in violence, in ignorance, in poverty, in turbulence. Because it is when you now have this anarchic situation, that they present themselves as the praetorian guard.” Sanusi has not been able to explain away his alleged role in the Akaluka affair. He threatened to sue one man who was haunting him-with the issue over 10 years ago, but the suit has yet to come. Neither has there been any explanation for the two years that his whereabouts cannot be explained in his CV. The Akaluka case is dead and no justice done outside the Wahabists Abacha allegedly executed extra-judicially. Nigeria has the blood of many Akalukas on its hands with their killers walking free. Its woes will continue until it dispenses justice. Shame on ignoramuses who are looking for a president in Sanusi without asking for how Akaluka lost his https://tribuneonlineng.com/who-beheaded-akaluka/ |
Family / We Patronise Beer Parlour To Avoid Nagging Wives, Domestic Issues: Nigerian Men by Menh: 11:45am On Jan 21, 2022 |
We patronise beer parlour to avoid nagging wives, domestic issues: Nigerian Men “Whenever I get home on time, my family issues will give me stress. So, I prefer to stay out late in a beer parlour,’’ admitted Mr Ola. Pub, popularly called beer parlour, is a thriving business in Nigeria that attracts patronage from many clients daily. A trip to some beer parlours in Lagos on Thursday revealed that men are the major customers compared to women. Research has also shown that most men who do white-collar jobs dominate 50 per cent of the beer parlours. However, some of their opinions are far away from the thinking of what most men go there to do. Most women probably think it is where their husbands take girlfriends for relaxation and fun. Others who usually visit joints after work stated they go there to relax and relieve tension. Saulam Ola, who usually visits a beer parlour in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, said he visits there to cool off from work stress before going home to face another family stress. “I prefer to stop over at beer parlour so that my wife and children would have slept before I get home. Whenever I get home on time, my family issues will give me stress. So, I prefer to stay out late in a beer parlour,’’ admitted Mr Ola. Another businessman, Thomas Ojo, disclosed that he visits beer parlour to probably mingle with the right people to discuss the happenings both at home and abroad. “I usually go there to mix up with people of different calibre and status in order to know the happenings around me,” said Mr Ojo. “We discuss politics to catch up with the happenings in the country so that we get the update of issues.” He added, “If I decide to go home straight, there may be no light, or probably my generator might be faulty, and I won’t be able to listen to the news.” Also, John Taofeek said that drinking beer makes him forget his problems because it provides him happiness. “I would rather go to beer parlour to drink before going home so that I can forget my problems; beer gives me happiness, especially the ones with alcohol,” added Mr Taofeek. “Ordinarily, if I go home straight, I will be thinking of bad things.” According to Emma Noel, a businessman, going to beer parlour is because of his love for beer and nothing else. “I don’t have issues at home, but the truth is that I must branch at a beer parlour to drink and have fun,’’ Mr Noel explained. Aliu Jimoh, an artisan, said he prefers to stop over at beer parlour before going home because he does not have a peaceful home. “I stop at beer parlours to avoid troubles at home. My wife is the nagging type who picks a quarrel with me at any given time,” Mr Jimoh pointed out. “I do not always want to go home early so that there won’t be issues; I always drink beer to stupor in order not to listen to her nagging.” Moses Matthew said he stops at beer parlours to drink before going home to avoid paying more bills at home. “When I get home early, my children will bring unnecessary bills on my table. Even my wife will be telling me of the ‘aso ebi she wants to buy,” Mr Matthew revealed. “I go to beer parlour to drink in order to get home late, and by the time they wake (up) in the morning, I would have gone out.” https://gazettengr.com/we-patronise-beer-parlour-to-avoid-nagging-wives-domestic-issues-nigerian-men/?utm_source=ReviveOldPost&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ReviveOldPost

Nairaland / General / New COVID-19 Variant: Deltacron Discovered In Cyprus by Menh: 8:54pm On Jan 09, 2022 |
COVID-19: Deltacron Variant Discovered in Cyprus, a combination of Delta and Omicron. 25 cases confirmed so far. Just a mere two months after detection of the highly contagious Omicron Covid-19 variant last November, and the threat of another big lockdown from taking over the world, there is now new evidence that another new variant has now appeared in Cyprus. This new variant has been named 'Deltacron', for being a combination of the Delta and Omicron variants. According to the professor of Biology at the University of Cyprus, Leondios Kostrikis, there are some people infected with Omicron and Delta, but in the case of this variant known in the Cypriot country, it is "a combination of both". Kostrikis declared that the new variant has "the genetic signature of Omicron and the genomes of Delta." Confirmed cases in Cyprus In regards to the new variant, and according to the information provided by the Cypriot Executive, 25 new infections have been reported so far. On the other hand, the director of the Biotechnology and Molecular Virology Laboratory explained that the new variant has been mostly detected in hospitalized patients and very few cases in vaccinated people. This report comes days after in France, a group of scientists from Marseille reported a variant with more mutations than Omicron, called IHU, and whose first case was detected in the Republic of Congo. According to a study published MedRxiv, this patient returned to France from a trip to Cameroon. At the moment, the potential damage of this variant, as well as its evolution, is still unknown. At the moment, Omicron registered on Thursday, January 6, the highest number of daily infections in the world, which was 2.3 million, and has forced many countries in the world to adopt new restrictions in order to put a stop to this upward trend of cases. What does the World Health Organization say? Regarding the Omicron variant, Tedros Adhanom, general director of the World Health Organization (WHO) released a statement saying that "although Omicron appears to be less severe compared to Delta, especially in those vaccinated, it does not mean that it should be classified as mild." The most prominent symptoms of Omicron are cough, fatigue, fever, sneezing, muscle pain, runny nose, and headache. Symptoms that differ from those of Delta, since they are less aggressive on the body, although Omicron spreads more quickly. The Omicron variant has hit hard in different parts of the world. The United States, for example, is the country with the most accumulated cases of COVID-19 as there are on average more than 900,000 new infections and 2,000 deaths a day. https://www.marca.com/en/lifestyle/us-news/2022/01/09/61db025b22601d9d158b4574.html |

Career / Oil And Gas Industry Salary: According To Positions by Menh: 1:02pm On Dec 16, 2020 |
Introduction Without doubt, the oil and gas industry is perhaps the most lucrative industry in Nigeria to pursue a career in. Given the natural endowment of crude oil in Nigeria, specifically in the south-south region of the country, the reason for this lucrativeness is not farfetched. In addition, in an analysis carried out by MySalaryScale in 2017, the oil and gas industry was confirmed to be the most lucrative industry to work in by employees based on the salary payment. Also, it’s important to also mention that that most of the oil and gas companies in Nigeria are multinational and are not even listed in the Nigerian Stock Exchange all-share index. To this effect, most of them tend to pay their employees in foreign currencies. Most of these firms also have a salary structure that is designed on annual basis. However, for better interpretation and comparison sake, we have decided to present these salaries in Nigerian Naira and also monthly. Business / How Buhari Associate Fraudulently Acquired Keystone Bank And 9mobile by Menh: 12:09pm On May 17, 2020 |
Introduction Recently, a shocking story came out to public knowledge about how Keystone Bank and 9Mobile were acquired in controversial circumstances by the business interests of one Alhaji Isa Funtua, a close friend of President Muhammadu Buhari, via the instrumentality of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON). As the smoke raised by the scandalous story is still swirling in the air, with some public groups challenging the government to come out clean on what could be a serious dent on its anti-corruption stance, there is indeed no smoke without fire. For starters, it is a confirmed fact that the son-in-law of Isa Funtua, Ahmed Kuru, is the current CEO of AMCON. Before him, the previous CEO, Chike Obi, was a first-class gentleman and technocrat who was strangely removed from office before the expiration of his term and was replaced with Kuru, the son-in-law of Isa Funtua. Now, let us get into the insider details of how Funtua bought Keystone Bank and 9Mobile in the most bizarre of dealings that circumvent the laws of the land. Keystone Bank was sold by the current CEO of AMCON to his father-in-law, Funtua, without any AMCON Board’s approval and with the active connivance of CBN and NDIC at a grossly undervalued price of 25 Billion Naira. To put things in context, let us recall that Enterprise Bank was sold for over 60 Billion Naira and Mainstreet Bank was sold for over 100 Billion Naira under the former CEO of AMCON. Before the sale of Keystone Bank to Isa Funtua, all bad debts in the books of the Bank were taken over by AMCON. So, it was a clean Bank with all the Assets and no Liabilities that was sold to the Buyers. The Executive Management of AMCON was coerced into approving the transaction and those who were willing to submit a much higher bid were disqualified under a most opaque, suspicious process that lacks all transparency. The process was just manipulated in favour of the father-in-law of the AMCON CEO. The Corrupt Payment for Keystone Bank The most disgusting part of the entire sale of Keystone Bank is how the 25 Billion Naira sales price was paid to AMCON. The Isa Funtua Team paid 5 Billion Naira to AMCON, and then the balance of 20 Billion Naira was later paid through the most criminal and corrupt approach ever perpetrated by AMCON in favour of the Buyer. What happened was that AMCON moved 20 Billion Naira of their own funds as a fixed deposit at GTBank to Heritage Bank. Heritage Bank then paid the 20 Billion Naira on behalf of the Funtua Group to AMCON. In other words, AMCON used their own funds as a collateral for a loan to the Funtua Group for 20 Billion Naira! When the Funtua Group took over Keystone Bank, they went borrowing immediately at the Interbank Market for 20 Billion Naira to refund AMCON’s funds. This has left a hole in Keystone Bank’s Balance Sheet and makes the Bank one of the most undercapitalized Banks in the Country as at today. The evidence of this highly compromised acquisition process can be obtained from the current and former staff of AMCON, from NDIC, CBN and from the current staff of Keystone Bank itself. The story has been all over the place and it is quite shocking that some political parties and public interest groups are just picking it up now. The Unholy Sale of 9-Mobile Another suspicious acquisition scandal surrounding the Funtua Group is about the untidy way 9-Mobile, formerly known as Etisalat, was bought. It is Mr. Adrian Wood of Teleology Holdings, a very sound telecoms professional, who collaborated with the Funtua Group for the acquisition of 9-Mobile. The problem with their bid was the lack of a qualified Operator to support the bid which was one of the minimum conditions of NCC. Adrian Wood alone was not a substitute for an Operator. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) gave several conditions that must be met by the Ultimate Buyer of 9-Mobile to ensure the protection of shareholders value, prevent loss of jobs, protect the telecoms industry from slipping into a crisis and ensure transparency and professionalism in the post-acquisition entity. The conditions listed by NCC that must be met by the Buyer are Strong Telecoms Operating Experience, Strong Financial Capabilities, Strong Technical Knowledge and Strong Administrative Skills. The first thing that happened once Teleology was announced as the preferred winner was that the Funtua Group edged Adrian Woods out of Management and turned him to an Insignificant Shareholder. The second development was that the Funtua Group raided Keystone Bank again and forced the Bank to Pay 50 million Dollars as down payment for the acquisition of 9-Mobile. The third issue was that Teleology Nigeria replaced Teleology Holdings to remove any influence of Adrian Woods from 9-Mobile totally. The fourth step taken the Funtua Group was to borrow 260 Million Dollars from African Exim Bank. The fifth thing was to coerce NCC to approve the sale at all cost without meeting 90% of the conditions set up ab-initio by the NCC. The sixth strange action of the Funtua Group was to force the board of NCC to approve the sale through the influence and pressure from the Presidency. And the seventh Funtua infraction was to use the influence of CBN to force the Banks to the table and waive their own conditions of sale of 9-Mobile to the Teleology Nigeria group. Conclusion So far, the problem with the sales of the above mentioned assets is that all the processes and conditions were brazenly circumvented and Keystone Bank was forced into a deeper pit by the greed and recklessness of the Funtua group. Today, AMCON as presently constituted is just a tool in the hands of the Funtua Group to acquire peoples’ businesses without paying for it or using AMCON’s money to pay for the Funtua Group. Even indigenous airlines like Arik and Aero Contractors, like many other companies under AMCON, are being considered for nepotistic acquisition in the near future. Of course, the Funtua Group has been penciled down as the preferred bidders. The devious plot is that if the Buhari government secures a second term and starts the tenure, all other companies under AMCON will be sold by hook or crook to the favoured Funtua Group. Meanwhile, the Management and Staff of AMCON along with the Board have all been intimidated into silence. In fact, the Board is dead and ineffective. And the other Supervisory Bodies over AMCON are just rubber stamps because the fear of Katsina power brokers is the beginning of wisdom. https://www.google.com/amp/s/naija247news.com/2018/12/31/exclusive-how-isa-funtua-fraudulently-acquired-keystone-bank-and-9mobile-using-amcon-md/amp/

Sports / List Of 30 Greatest Pro Wrestlers Of Alll-time by Menh: 1:49pm On Apr 26, 2020 |
There are so many legendary names linked with professional wrestling. WWE stars like Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Andre the Giant and The Rock instantly spring to mind. Then, of course, there are some that have made a name for themselves outside of America - the likes of Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada - for example. But who can stake a claim to be called the greatest pro wrestler of all-time? Some of those above would certainly be in the running. While it's all somewhat subjective, Collider has attempted to rank the 30 greatest professional wrestlers of all-time. Check out their list: 30) The Ultimate Warrior 29) Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat 28) 'The Million Dollar Man' Ted DiBiase 27) Kenny Omega 26) Edge 25) Big Van Vader 24) Jake 'The Snake' Roberts 23) Rey Mysterio 22) Kurt Angle 21) Sting 20) CM Punk 19) AJ Styles 18) Daniel Bryan 17) 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper 16) Andre the Giant 15) Eddie Guerrero 14) Triple H 13) Dusty Rhodes 12) Mick Foley 11) Brock Lesnar 10) Chris Jericho 9) The Undertaker John Cena 7) Bret 'The Hitman' Hart 6) Shawn Michaels 5) 'Macho Man' Randy Savage 4) 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair 3) The Rock 2) Hulk Hogan 1) Stone Cold Steve Austin That's one hell of a list. Stone Cold takes his place at number one, edging out Hogan and The Rock. Collider justified their decision by stating that WWF's 'Attitude Era' would not exist without the Texas Rattlesnake. On top of that, Austin sold more tickets and merch than nearly any other wrestler in history and his 'compelling' matches throughout the 90s help him cement that top spot. https://www.givemesport.com/1564783-wwe-news-the-30-greatest-pro-wrestlers-of-alltime-have-been-ranked?amp
