A ghastly road accident in Cameroon’s West region has killed at least 12 people and injured 58 others, according to local police.
Witnesses said a truck transporting more than 50 farmers attempted to escape from a police checkpoint but lost track and fell down.

Twelve people, including women and children, died on the spot, witnesses said.

Eric Katinala, 34, who is charged with the murder of his wife, Martha Ndakala, has told the court how his wife died after a sexual encounter

Katinala said he was given a one-week break by his employer to move his wife and child from Kasama to Mansa.

According to Daily Mail, he said after spending a day at home, they both decided to go for a drink at a place called Esco.

As they were taking Eagle lager, a businessman who was selling traditional herbal medicines known as Congo Dust and Mtototo approached them.

“I then bought the herbal medicine called Mtototo. After that, we went home and while my wife was preparing supper, I took the herb,” he said.

Zambia’s Ambassador to Germany, His Excellency, Mr Anthony Mukwita has expressed grave sadness at the brutal beating of 39yr-old German-based Zambian Musician Cassy Nyemba by her 60yr-old fiancé who has since died after he allegedly jumped from the 13th floor of an apartment building in which the couple lived.

Ambassador Mukwita said the violent attack against a defenseless woman has left him shell-shocked as gory details of how Nyemba escaped her attacker’s attempt to strangle her to death in her sleep around 9hrs on Monday morning emerged.

Reports under police investigation indicate that Nyemba’s fiancé initially used a rope and tied it around her neck and began to violently squeeze it with the apparent aim to kill her. He then used a pillow to suffocate her but failing, he attempted to reach for a knife which gave Nyemba a slight chance at escaping. The balcony was the only available option............

Nine primary School girls from Kahama District Shinyanga Region in Tanzania were impregnated during the c0vid-19 school lockdown, local authorities have said.

Salma Mwenda, the local primary school Health Officer, said this yesterday at a special event ‘Educating and Enlightening Health Teachers on Preventive Measures against Covid-19’.

“Two of the girls got impregnated before the temporary closure of schools while the rest were discovered pregnant soon after studies had resumed. They have all been suspended from attending school presently” she said

A vaccine against the coronavirus, developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute in Russia, is now the first registered vaccine against the Corona Virus.

ussian President Vladimir Putin reportedly announced Tuesday during a government meeting that the vaccine was the first in the world to be registered, and his daughter was among those given the COVID-19-preventing shot.

Speaking at a government meeting Tuesday, Putin said that the vaccine has undergone proper testing and is safe.

“I know it has proven efficient and forms a stable immunity, and I would like to repeat that it has passed all the necessary tests,” he said. “We must be grateful to those who made that first step very important for our country and the entire world.”

Putin said that his daughter had a temperature of 38 degrees Celsius (100.4 Fahrenheit) on the day of the first vaccine injection, and then it dropped to just over 37 degrees (98.6 Fahrenheit) on the following day.

After the second shot she again had a slight increase in temperature, but then it was all over.

“She’s feeling well and has high number of antibodies,” Putin added. He didn’t specify which of his two daughters — Maria or Katerina — received the vaccine.

The country currently has two COVID-19 vaccine candidates in the race – one, a vaccine being developed by the Vektor State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology. The second is the vaccine that has been developed, and now registered, by the Gamaleya Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology along with the Russian Defence Ministry

There was mild drama at a Health Center in Oume (Goh Region in west-central Cote d’Ivoire) in the village of sawmill, as Two Men fought over claim of paternity of the same child following the delivery of a newborn child.

According to eye witness, the young woman “had two different relationships with two different relationships with two men”, and this continued “even during her pregnancy”. Every man claiming to be the future dad, spent money on prenatal care.

On the day of childbirth, The two men informed-of “the good news” presented themselves to the maternity ward” with their different parents and family.

The village head of Boule chiefdom tried to resolved the dispute by summoning both parties to a meeting in his palace, but it ended in more confusion as the lady herself does not know which of the two men is the real father of the child.

Kente cloth varies in complexity. Ahwepan refers to a simple design of warp stripes, created using plain weave and a single pair of heddles. The designs and motifs in kente cloth are traditionally abstract, but some weavers also include words, numbers and symbols in their work today.

As one of the prominent symbols of African arts and culture, Kente cloth has been embraced by the broader African Diaspora (which means people of African descent wherever they might live).

Kente cloth is particularly popular in the United States among African Americans and can be found on all types of clothing, accessories, and objects. Kente cloth is now used to make clothes for all sorts of people, not only royalty and not along the Ashanti.

The cloth has become particularly popular among tourists who often buy Kente inspired bags and shoes when visiting Ghana. Kente cloth fabric has also become popular internationally, as celebrities such as Gwen Stefani, Solange Knowles, and the hip hop group Salt-N-Pepa have all adopted and worn the cloth at different times.

From the ancient history of the Ashanti Kingdom, to the Pan-African spread of tradition during the trans-Atlantic slave trade, to modern day interpretations and use of cultural heritage, the Kente cloth is both symbolic and representative of the history of the Ashanti people. Through tracing the origins, evolution, and spread of this unique cultural heritage, we are better able to understand a people and their history.
