The Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has asked President Mohammadu Buhari to see the visit of some selected Kogi Traditional Rulers as one aimed at satisfying their pay master against the maladministration and poor leadership the state has witnessed in the past three and half years.

The PDP in a statement signed by Bode Ogunmola, spokesman of the party, alleged that the traditional rulers have been conscripted to play the song of the governor, who has only realized that his time in Lugard House has expired.

The PDP notes with emphasis that the leader of the delegation has personally and through interview in National Newspapers carpeted the Gov. Yahaya Bello's administration, urged Mr President to see his speech as one handed over to him from the seat of power.

The PDP said it has chosen to draw Mr President attention to their scheming not because the APC has any chance in Kogi State in the forthcoming governorship election, but because traditional rulers who ought to be Fathers to all, have buried their heads in shame, over a pot of porrage, and have become the governor's image maker having failed to provide governance.

The PDP called on the people of the state to be in the know of the activities of their traditional rulers who aside becoming active participants in politics, have soiled their hands, are now image makers, hired to launder the image of the failed government that have impoverished the people.

It was gathered that some governorship aspirants of PDP and APC from Kogi East were allegedly disqualified by a committee headed by the former National chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Sen. Ahmodu Ali under the auspices of ‘Igala Elders’.

The party, however, in a statement signed by Bode Ogunmola, State Publicity of the PDP on Friday noted categorically that it will abide by the party’s rules and regulations as enshrined in the party constitution on how its candidate will emerge under a free and fair primary.

The party maintained that, “The PDP has no anointed candidate for November election in Kogi State. We promised to be an unbiased umpire.


“We enjoined party faithful to keep the spirit high as it is resolute in taking over Kogi State from APC and free Kogites from shackles of hunger, oppression and miss governance.

The statement urged the PDP members to disregard the report as it has a process that will produce a candidate for the party for the November governorship poll.

In a related development, the People’s Democratic Party Youth Vanguard in Kogi State, have asked Sen. Ahmodu Ali, former National Chairman of the Party to concentrate on uniting the party in the state rather than create confusion and chaos in the party ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.


The PDP Youth Vanguard in a statement issued by Jacob Mamudu, lamented that the report of the committee fell short of reasonable reasoning, rather tilts towards working against the PDP.

The Vanguard said the loyalty of the elder statesman to the party is now no doubt questionable, adding that, “the former National Chairman obviously acting a script, seems to want to use his hatchet committee to allegedly disqualify aspirants of the PDP who are most prepared for the governorship election”.

“Sen. Ahmadu Ali exercise is a covert attempt to help the APC. The committee is cash and carry, and his report clearly shows that he worked to justify his paymasters.

He can only claim a prosperous state when the lifespan is higher, the
education level is higher, and the internally Generated Revenue IGR per capita is higher compared to that of his predecessors.

Going by His Performance above, he does not even qualify for a reseat nor a repeat.
He has performed woefully bad and Should be sent packing!!!

We, at PDP kogi state
felicitates with our brothers and sisters,the entire Muslim Community of kogi state as well as all Nigerians on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr.
May Allah accept our fast as an act of Ibadah and grant us purity of heart as we celebrate this day.
We also use this medium to ask that continuous prayers be offered for the state for peace, progress and above all A NEW and Prosperous Kogi state for ALL where Oppression and Oppressors will no longer hold sway!
