Politics / Re: The MFPND Is Saying No To Violence In The Niger Deltta! by MFPND: 8:17am On May 08, 2016
MFPND:
The MFPND is using this medium to call out, to all Aggrieved youths of the Niger Delta, who are allowing the Anger and Dissatisfaction to cloud their judgments, to say No to Violence. Violence has never solved anything for us in the Region and Violence will never solve anything, but rather Violence compounds the already serious problems we are facing in the Region. When aggrieved youths blow up the already damaged pipelines in the region it does not further the Cause of The Niger Delta as it instead takes us a million steps backwards, And it ridicules all the effort that peace Loving Niger Deltans have put into making the Region peaceful. Violence is not the answer, that is why The MFPND is calling out to all Aggrieved Niger Delta Youths to lay down their arms and cease hostilities, let us all embrace peace and seek for a common Ground to compromise on with the Federal Government to solve our Problems, The MFPND is also using this medium to appeal to the Federal Government to use Wisdom in Handling the emerging problems in the Niger Delta, as the use of Force has never solved any problem in the Region before and it will not solve the problems now, the federal Government should instead of using the Military to police the region, should rather seek for less Aggressive ways to get to the heart of the Problems of the Region, The Federal Government should fight the war on corruption truthfully and without Prejudice. God Bless Nigeria.

The Movement For A Progressive Niger Delta, MFPND. Is calling all Nigerians Irrespective of Religion and Tribe To put more efforts in trying to bridge the gap between the Government and Citizens of this country. we as Nigerians should look beyond the present and Look into the Future, Nigeria is a Great Nation, and it has the prospects of becoming a Regional Power in Africa, that is why it is pertinent for all Nigerians to come together in one accord and cease talks of secession or dividing this country, Nigeria is our only home, and a home divided against it's self cannot stand. That is why The MFPND is also calling on all well meaning Nigerians who have the means and wherewithal to sponsor or help Create programs and Groups that would advocate for Peace in the most Rural hinterland areas of Nigeria, and The Niger Delta in particular, because If the Federal Government does not do all it can to salvage the already deteriorating environmental and security challenges facing the Region, Nigeria would be facing serious Economic issues, as many Youths might result to Oil Theft and Pipeline vandalization. That is why The MFPND is calling on the Administration of President Buhari, to come to our aid soon, to avert the Impending calamity that might result from possible Youth Restiveness in the Region, we believe in the Presidency, and we believe he will do all it can to help to facilitate Job creation programs in the Niger Delta, and we also Hope that Federal Government Projects in the region, Like the NPA Warri, and The Delta Steel Company Ovwian/Aladja and many other abandoned Government projects in the state are revived so as to provide jobs for the millions of Jobless youths in the Region. We are also appealing to The Government to Create an Avenue where organizations like The MFPND, can Liaison with The Federal Government On Ways to Sensitize people of the Region on Government Plans and Intentions for Indigenes of The Niger Delta Region. We assure the Government of President Buhari that we will follow the steps of Our Illustrious son the Former President, Goodluck Azikiwe Ebele Jonathan, by being peaceful and also preaching peace to our members and the general public, but we hope that the Government acts fast, as there is not much time. Because the Niger Delta has become a shadow of it's former self. Long Live The MFPND. Long Live The Federal Republic Of Nigeria.

I mean assuming that's what's being planned.
Yes, The Program could be replaced with job creation, and we would be grateful, if The incoming Government would consider the plight and agony of Former Niger Deltan Militants who have surrendered their arms during the Amnesty Program, The MFPND would be Grateful, and we also would like the Federal Government to Provide Jobs for our unemployed Graduate Youths who have been contributing immensely to the Overall development of The Nigerian society at large.

For Niger Delta to experience peace, the non-repentant militants should face the wrath of the law while the peaceful and educated people be enpowered economicaly. On the contrary, i think the amnesty fraud should be scrapped. it promotes illegality. The op and his group should focus on their state governors who are currently being paid far more than other states of the Federation. Demand that ur governors should start working for u instead of wasting resources.

The Movement For A Progressive Niger Delta (MFPND) is a Political Organisation, that was formed as a result of the outcome of The Presidential Elections, Held on The 28th day of March 2015. After The General Elections Held In Nigeria, In The Year 2015, The first meeting of stake holders of The Organization was held in Ozoro in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state, In the meeting, a lot of issues were discussed, and resolutions were passed and thus the Organization was created on the 30th day of March 2015. The purpose of the Political Organization is to assist the Federal Government of Nigeria, to foster endearing qualities of unity, Love and peace among the indigenous people of The Niger Delta, members of The Movement For A Progressive Niger Delta, (MFPND) know from first hand knowledge, the pains, Suffering, and afflictions of The people of The Niger Delta Region. The Niger Delta region is the most under developed region in Nigeria, but it is the most richest in terms of natural Mineral resources like Crude Oil and Natural Gas, But why have the people of The Niger Delta being marginalized severely, by both past Governments of Nigeria and even this current Government? Are The Indigenous people of Niger Delta not Nigerians? These and many more questions are what is on the lips of the people of The Region, But we at the Movement For A Progressive Niger Delta (MFPND), have taken it upon our selves, to build bridges of Unity, Love and Peace, between our brothers and sisters in The North, Northeast and Northwestern, regions of Nigeria, to us Here in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria. so that we all can have a progressive Niger Delta and a more Progressive Nigerian society at large. We are using this medium to call on all Niger Deltans, Irrespective of Tribe or Religion, to put hands together so that we can build Nigeria together, Nigeria is our Home, and we should do everything in our powers to secure the future of our Home. Long Live The MFPND, and Long Live The Federal Republic Of Nigeria.

Won't it be better off to have least have a broader development in your region than pouring money into the pockets of a few thousands. To me it reads like 'bribe money' when your rivers and farmlands have not being cleaned, meagre infrastructures and others. It'll also create a false sense of entitlement as for some, they'll fight to never see it stop.

Not the easiest topic, but I think a lot of reforms are needed. Greater allocation to your region, stop the amnesty, create atmosphere for jobs and much more.
Thank You for expressing your candid Opinion. We would try to address your question in the best possible way we can. Yes I agree that we need a broader form of development in Our area, and The just commissioned EPZ project in the Niger Delta, we are sure to see more development, and youth employment, but The amount of unemployed and restive youths in the Niger Delta are in Their Thousands if not millions even. And The truth of the matter is that we need more Projects like the EPZ and other mega federal Government projects. On the aspect of Oil spillage, companies Like Shell and Chevron should be held liable, because they have rather chosen to neglect their host communities. There are no more fishes in our Rivers ( this is for real) and there is severe hunger due to lack of Fish for trading. Because most of the Fisher men exchange Fish For Garri in trade. The longlasting absence of fish in the Rivers have caused the Rural people and their families to literally starve. And their cries to companies like Shell, to clean up, or pay for damages on land/sea oil spills, have gone on deaf ears. And we are not saying that The Amnesty program should be continued for ever, No, what we are saying is this, the program has helped drastically to bring peace in the region, it's not a perfect program but it seems to be working, so let's look at the faults of the program, and try to correct them and at the same time look for other viable means to keep the People in the program occupied. By giving all of them in the program jobs and housing. Before the program is discontinued. Let's not sacrifice all that Former President Yaradua (may his soul rest in peace) worked for. Thank you.

Will support. When the self allocated Niger-Delta Blocs have been returned to Niger delta people. Not even the south West or people in North will allow a SS/SE to own an oil bloc in their region , then you'll hear name calling. Until this Parasitic behavior are amended then we can start talking about love, peace and what have you. Why the pretend.
Thank you for expressing your opinion, and we at The MFPND appreciate your sincere and honest opinion, we are not pretending, it's just that we are aware of the stark reality on ground in our country, and it is because of the knowledge of that stark reality that President Jonathan conceded defeat before the election results were concluded. Do you think President Jonathan does not know that children voted in The North? Or that there were numerous electoral mal practices in The North during the elections? He knew all this but still he called General Buhari even before all the polls were collated. What does that tell you? Nigeria is Severely divided on Ethnic and Religious Lines, but we are putting our pride aside and every other concept of militant prowess or intellectual ingenuity, to ask our Brothers and sisters in the North to involve us fully in affairs of the Country, Nigeria is not an Hausa/Fulani country or an Ijaw/Ibo country, Rather it's a country for all Nigerians irrespective of Tribe, Political party or Religious creed. There really is no pretense here. Thank You.

To start with, chess is NOT a simple game. Is it everybody from the South South that enjoys the largesse from the Amnesty programme? What happens to the over 98% of people not receiving amnesty claims?

Rather than ask the FG not to stop, you should be asking the FG to expedite actions in the region.

Mind you, what you've stated here is a threat! Don't call a spade a shovel. I'm from the Isoko as well...
The MFPND does not seek to Glorify one ethnic Group at the expense of another, and because The inaugural meetings of The Group were held in Ozoro in Isoko land does not mean that The Isoko People have more stake in the affairs of The Niger Delta than the rest of the people from The Region. And The MFPND does not threaten, Rather the Group seeks to make obvious, the fact of imminent violence in the Region if appropriate actions are not taken to forestall peace and development in the Region, and yes there is a strong possibility that violence might erupt in The Niger Delta if the Amnesty program is stopped. And Chess is simple, as ABC, it's all in the Mind.

Politics / Re: Ex-militants Leader Declares Support For Buhari by MFPND: 2:41pm On Apr 23, 2015
tophumble:

Leader of the Bakassi Freedom Fighters (BFF), an ex-militant group in Cross River State, Gen. Franklyn Duduku, has pledged to support the President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, in his efforts to move the country forward.
He also said no ex-militant would go back to the creeks, but said the Buhari government should strengthen the Amnesty Programme to enable it achieve its objective.
A statement signed by Duduku and titled: WE WILL SUPPORT GENERAL MUHAMMADU BUHARI TO UNITE THE COUNTRY, made available to The Nation in Calabar on Thursday reads, “One of the many reasons why ex-militants leaders in the Niger Delta region are teaming up to support GMB is for the interest of peace and development of the entire nation.
“GMB during his tenure in office in the military era was able to achieve if not much, but a few remarkable projects which up till date speaks volumes to his personality.
“No leader is bad. It is only when we allow greed to overpower our conscience that evil becomes prevalent in all the sectors of our endeavour. Electioneering days are over and we now know the next captain of the Nigerian ship.
“It will be rather disrespectful of any well – meaning and peace – loving Nigerian to say ‘Buhari will Islamize Nigeria,’ as claimed by some fanatics who are just mere agents of destruction.
“One would ask why the same GMB, who had been a military head of state did not Islamize the country as easy as it was then than now in a democratic dispensation! It is only in our nation that political opponents resolve to character assassination and castigation, as if it is instrumental to election victory!
“It is an established reality that Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the President-elect, has come to unite the nation and bring long lasting peace to the troubled parts of the nation. If we must succeed, then sentiments must be avoided, we must bring to bear all avenues that will foster a peaceful co-existence amongst us as a nation and people of one belief. Nigeria is our country. There is no other home like ours. We must support the President-elect to build and unite Nigeria.”

And Yes, If The incoming federal Government decides to stop the ongoing Amnesty Programs, The Whole Of The Region will go up in Heavy Smoke. It's as simple as Chess.
and this is not a Threat To the Government Of Buhari, It is stating the obvious, The Good General, should do everything in his power to make sure that The Amnesty program is continued or at The least, before it is discontinued it lasts for some years and it can gradually put down infrastructures and facilities that would aid development in the region, before they stop the program, other wise The Region would be put in an endless Conflict with The North, Northeast, and Northwestern Parts of the country. And we do not want that, it is because of the Growing threat of Insurrection from the Region, That The MFPND is doing everything it can to bring The incoming governing Government of General Buhari, because in his manifesto he said that his government would not be a Ruling Government, but a governing one, That is why we are using this medium to plead with him to act fast now, before the region is shut down by violence and Ethnic cleansing.
