Can we all now agree that removal of subsidy on petrol and floating of the naira are both failed policies. Nigerians didn't have to suffer like this for the past one month. We're back to where we started. Government is still settling the difference between the landing cost and selling price of petrol and also setting the price of dollar in the market. Just like the above mentioned cases, this price increase in electricity will lead to massive bypass(of the meters) by the people thereby leading to revenue shortages and the government will be forced to intervene again. Over the years, the successive governments have failed to build the microeconomics and the purchasing power of the masses to create organic wealth. Now suddenly , they want to operate a liberal and free market economy because the IMF advised them to. Una never see anything. What we see is overnight billionaires who throw monies in parties without creating real wealth. I just pity the incoming administrations cause the mess already created will put them in another mess 34 Likes |

SalamRushdie:no one wants to see the middle East in flames especially USA. They have a lot more to lose than the parties involved. Russia, Saudi and their clique will raise the price of crude oil to $200/barrel at the start of the conflict. Use the extra funds to destabilize the region more and have energy prices soaring through the roof around the globe. Europe will have to beg Russia for gas and might throw in Ukraine as a gift. So Israel and Iran direct confrontation goes against everything USA is trying to achieve 4 Likes 1 Share |

1Sharon:in another version of the story, the Calabar people worshipped twins because they believed that they're the living representation of their dual living deity. When the white man came, he told them that their deity is evil and everything about it evil. By demonizing their deity so they can accept the religion of the white man. So by accepting the teaching of the white man, everything about their old forms of worship were categorized as evil including twins (which were formerly revered as their God). So there you have it. When the white man came, they met a highly organized and religious people so they had to distort our ways to enable them confuse us into their own. King Leopold of Belgium did it in Congo |

Objectivist04:in my place, the man doesn't marry his own wife(if his father is alive). His father goes to the family of the wife and the family of the wife hands over their daughter to him to marry and take care of. There's no sexual relationship between them though. Traditions differ from place to place so don't use your own to overlay to others |

princemillla:people underestimate those Persians. These people ruled the world at some point and no matter what happens, they still carry that ego just like the British people carry it. Israel can never attack any Iranian soil but their embassies. Same goes for Iranians. There's so much at stake and avoiding direct confrontation is very important. Not even USA will attack Iran directly 1 Like 1 Share |

For your safety and sanity, you need to leave her alone for now. Leave the house and apply for divorce here in Nigeria and use the chats as your evidence. Take back ownership of the shop and ensure all sales are remmited to your account. About your son, you file for custody. You don't have to worry about her running away with him. She doesn't love the child (she ignores the baby while frolicking with the guy). And you have been the one bankrolling the whole escapades. That being said, you married her because you love her but she saw you as her ticket out of poverty 1 Like |

You don't give her money but you expect her to spend her own money. As a man, you need to be worried about your own funds and not worry about how much the other person is making or made. It will not add anything to your own |

Since when did we start spending dollars in Nigeria that the government will be using dollar as benchmark to charge electricity bill. Pay workers using dollar rates and charge accordingly. Unlike developed economies, Nigeria is still blessed with insane resources which are more than enough to power our cities and still be charged based on our income as a people. Just so you know,we have gas, solar, oceans for wind and coal plus water for dams. The masses are made to pay for the incompetence of the government. When government was embezzling the funds meant for the power sector, the masses were not party to it. So why should the masses made to pay. Just before you think you're not affected because you are currently not in band A, your power provider can decide today to upgrade you against your will and you will be made to pay the insane rates with your meager income |

The reasons they gave for the hike in prices have nothing to do with the ordinary masses. We didn't increase inflation, devalue the naira nor increase inflation in the US. The failure of the government should not be suffered by the masses. Government should first of all increase the income of the populace before increasing their bills. But watch as they will spin this into a tribal affair and watch how the poor masses will rise up and fight against each other while groaning under intense suffering 1 Like 1 Share |

Johnjustice:what is the problem is that we have zero idea of the byproducts of crude oil. Just because the government has always been fixated on diesel and petrol, many don't know that the byproducts are many. Majority of what we do not even need or use 3 Likes |

The same people who are celebrating that this young man won,if you ask them to come out and vote, they will give you a litany of reasons why they won't. 61% of eligible voters voted but here in Nigeria, election day is a public holiday. If the masses vote en masse, it will be very difficult for anyone to rig the election. Congratulations to Faye |
