Hello guys thanks for the good work you all do here.I would welcome any help I get here.

My wife and I are planning to apply for a B2 visa for US.We plan spending 2 weeks (24 August - 6th September)mainly sightseeing, shopping and could probably catch a game at the US Open.

I am the Headmaster of a school which belongs to my parents. My wife is a Banker and also owns a Beauty salon. We own 2 cars, 3plot of land which we building our own school on at the moment.Because of this project our bank statements total of 15,000 Usd.
Some few questions.
1. Since we both traveling together do we have to fill separate online profile or one for both of us?
2. Do we need to fill separate DS 160?
3. The plan to apply early when at least we have some funds,20 February is available .As we wish to travel in August will applying in February be seen as desperate?
4. When is the best time to collect your bank statement?now or wait till few days to interview?
5. What are our chances of getting our visa?Any tip will be welcome.
Thanks
Yes you will fill separate ds160

Any travel history together sir?

All those money, properties doesnt count.....

Here comes the back and forth again. Nobody dashes out jobs in any part of the world, Nigeria, India, Canada, UK or UAE. Even people with skills are jobless all over the world. There has to be a good plan.
The good/bad thing about UAE is that they give every Harry a visa. That's what other countries will never do. If the whole world flocks Germany looking for work without usually any skills except luck, they'd have same problem anywhere.

Exactly and well said

With interest rate on savings accounts at roughly 3.5%, why would one invest in TBs at the same interest rate? Or is there something I’m missing?

I wonder too o

Interest rate on savings account is still much higher than FD rate. TB is just 0.1 higher.

TB and FD should chill for now pls....

But I noticed Access bank interest on savings acct is very low, Access bank na real one chance

Police Character Report
Health Insurance Form
Tax Receipts
Employment Letter
Assets to show applicants are not escaping from their country for good

What category of visa is this?
When did you give your biometric?
What documents do you submitted ?

Congratulations!

Thanks for the info. We're confused at the moment having submitted passport in Abuja since December 6th upon request for Passport on the 5th (Online Application). We bought air ticket for my spouse and daughter to leave Nigeria on the 26th to visit me. Till now passport has not been received. We need to cancel the ticket tomorrow if no news. Ticket is non refundable but I believe they said it can be put on hold till we settle for a date and then pay fare difference.

Please what's the email address to DHC Lagos? Is it Lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca ?

I used web form last week to make an inquiry.

Lastly, I wonder if they'll be working between 26th to 31st December in case there's a chance the passport will be received before the new year.

Have you track your passport via vfs site?

Vfs email and text msg for pick up is down for now

Becareful, a lot of predators will soon send private messages to you. You should also continue doing what produced the N12 million.

I will advise you to invest half of the money on FG bonds and remaining half on money market funds, till you have an idea of what you can invest in. At least this will give you about N1million per annum, that is about 83k per month

@ Phionix.... Here's the best advice for you....

With 300k salary, you still manage to save 12m and some people are saying Nigeria is not cheap to live smh

Hello @Ozzz, @marykay101 am back again . My final decision is out and it is a refusal, after 4months and 23 days. See attached below reason quoted. What do they mean my documents lack authenticity? I can boldly say all the documents submitted are valid and none are falsified. Remember my husband’s visa has been denied since Nov 19th stating their usual generic reason and we applied together. I am quite confused about this but I Am going to request for my gmc notes to understand their reasons.I am more than determined to reapply and overturned this decision as I have never submitted a falsified document to apply for visa in any country

You have to work on this refusal o

Diminished overall credibility and not authenticity shocked

Please state all the documents submitted

We are talking about how much is needed for someone to live a decent live in Nigeria and you are mentioning Zuckerberg and co.. Clown!

How many Zuckerbergs do we have in Nigeria

So i went to the Embassy this morning for my interview. Those boys were really exploiting people, imagine 4k to print ds 160 confirmation form. And some people are falling for it, suppose i pay them that money, after my denial, I will go back and beat the hell out of the guy and give him extra 1.5k for treatment.

My transcript.

VO : Good morning

Me : Good morning sir

VO : Can i have your passport

Me : I handover my passport to him.

VO : Where are you traveling to?

Me : Bla Bla

VO: What are you going to do there?

Me : Vacation and site seeing.

VO : Where do you work?

Me : I'm self employed, I own a business.

VO : Who's sponsoring this trip?

Me : My friend

VO : How did you meet her?

At this point i notice my balls started shrinking, this is the red flag

Me : Social media sir, Facebook to be precise.

VO : Hmm... typing typing typing. I'm sorry, he handed a green love letter to me.

I walked out of the office majestical, meanwhile, the friend i made there, is interview was before mine, an F1 visa. The boy that they both used same agent was approved, all this Aje boys, while the boy was coming out, he ask him, what did they ask you over there, is reply shocked me " they said i shouldn't tell any one". My guy there was denied his f1 visa, according to him he spent over 1.2million with the agent, the boy is a yahooboy,( the scam is scamming the scam nowadays).

I didn't eat anything before going, I just carry my 40700 enter one eatery, I eat food like an slowpoke without a father, playing i can't kill myself inside my head, enter one supermarket for Abj, buy ice cream and drinks for my host, my eyes the red nor be small, I but two black bullets. When night falls, I will be going to eat better barbecue. It's time for plan B, told my white woman about it, she started crying on the phone, I felt her pains.

I really want to say a big thank you to all of you on this thread, for the advice and everything. The trip is not a waste to me, it cost me a lot, but it's worth it, my first time in Abuja. One love to y'all. I'm sign out of this thread.

A business owner going for vacation/sightseeing and a total stranger on Facebook will sponsor the trip?

You messed things up with your answers chairman.

We keep complaining often and often forgetting that about 90% of problems faced in this country is caused by us.
How on Earth will someone with hard earned money subscribe for tb of 5% for 364 days. I'm just imagining it.
Someone should tell me what will make CBN to reverse this rate when millions of people are ready to subscribe as low as 2% for 365 days.
I will either dump my money in dorm. account or buy plots at different locations and wait for it to appreciate while relaxing my brain than going into useless investment that will always get me upset.

Exactly...
I wonder why people still invest with that ridiculous rates.

Even with the 10% sef it doesnt looks too nice for me to lock down my money.

My interview is tomorrow morning, but i went to the Embassy today, I met some men there, to be sincere Hausa abi Muslim people are very humble, I met a man there, nairaland is a different world on it's own, the man was the one that approach me, I was thinking he wanted to give me some scam format, but i was very wrong, according to him, he got US visa twice, but he didn't travel out, when he wanted to apply for the tired one, people started telling him, he won't get it, but he applied and his visa was approve. Two of his kids are there already, he just came with his 3rd child for his interview.

He ask me what i'm doing, i thought within me, if i tell the man my occupation he will tell me to forget about it, but i was shocked with his response, the man was really nice. We chatted for a while the son came out his visa was approved, they shock hand with me, inside his can he called me and say, just be truthful and confidence. Don't lie.

But i planned to add something, but i won't, I just hope to come here and share my success story.

How can you expect the best from a third world country, developing country for that matter........

On the other side, do people actually spend so much? 40k on daily basis.....
Well is possible if you do clubbing every night thou.

Nigeria is always much much cheaper to live than abroad...... Only those that have lived both side can confirm this, is just that the country is disorganized

I understand that your mind might not be able to stretch further than Whatapp & other popular apps! But it’s possible that organizations such as the US embassy has a messenger available only to their staffs!!!
