Politics / Re: Strip Presidents Of Some Electoral Powers - Jonathan by micolaj: 5:56pm On Jul 14, 2019
I think regardless of who appoints the Chairman, the President, directly or indirectly, will continue to have the biggest influence in the affairs of the system in which the appointee will work.
So,the Chairman being appointed by another person/body will bring little difference in our quest for effective and efficient electoral system.

The best way to handle heartbreak is to avoid heartbreak, and the best way to avoid heartbreak is by not letting anyone be in charge of your heart.

What do I mean? Have it in mind that LOVE does not exist in relationships of this generation, it's all about self and personal interest of both partners. Nothing more.

Be wise! You can't love and be wise at the same time, so choose wisdom over love.

Waoh So Love and wisdom are not related? grin

You said nothing but the truth.

Education / Re: Is Studying Engineering In Nigeria A Scam? by micolaj: 12:07pm On Apr 14, 2019
madridsta007:

Studying in Nigeria and completely relying on your lecturers, laboratories, etc, is deluding yourself.
Going outside the box in every course is the way to go.
I know graduates of Engineering in Nigeria who are currently working at NASA, Washington D.C. Two brothers from a University in Northern Nigeria.
If you rely on what you are being taught, you'll probably end up being mediocre. If you go outside the box, you wouldn't. The average Nigerian student is extremely lazy. He/she goes on the internet to chat and engage in other frivolities. It is the same internet that gives the hard-working ambitious student, Edx and Coursera free courses, which this hard-working student takes and improves his knowledge of data science and analysis to complement the theories he learns in school.

The ambitious student does not have two heads. The lazy student easily latches onto an excuse, such as describing his/her course of study in Nigeria as a "scam". No sir/ma. It isn't. You are the lazy, scamming student.
It is up to you.
I love your premise of reasoning.

School, anywhere in the world, can't give all you need to be a complete product.

That extra is needed from you to be complete.

Business / Re: Can One Have Two Companies That Depend On Each Other? by micolaj: 2:58pm On Jan 07, 2019
appcypher:
Is it possible for one person to create a company for a particular technology and then create another company that benefits from it but doesn't own it?

For context. I have a technology I'd like not be controlled by investors or board of directors because they are mostly driven by net revenue than innovation. It's a delicate technology and we must put safety first. So for that I'd like to be in charge and make sure things go as they should and that there is no pressure to eek out money. On the other hand, I'd like to continue its development for a long time, which means I will need money. So currently, its useful to an extent where it can generate value for people. And that begs the question above.

Will there be any challenge for one person to create a (possibly private) company for such technology and another to leverage it but open to investment, or will that be considered a conflict of interest? Are there examples of such?

Legally, it is possible to create two economic entities to be trading with each other. The relationship between the two companies will be in form of associate or affiliate.

For the first company, you can own the entire 80% holdings in form of shares(or 100% for exclusive right ), while the second company`s share can be privately held by investors ( you don`t need to own up to 50% since control is not intended).

Since you are having difficulty reading or comprehending or both, I will take the time to quote excepts and explain in in simplier terms.

From the article, Amina Zakaki was not alive the time her father married married buhari's sister, meaning she was never a step daughter- step mother relationship.

From the article we can see that Mrs Amina Zakari is more than qualified for the job.
"by some measure" I said.

Moreover, we are talking about independence here, a fragile issue.

No matter the analytical reasoning you employed, that woman can never be seen to be INDEPENDENT.

So, Buhari should the needful by relieving of that duty.

Did you read the links or you only read the headline? I understand the article is long ang Nigerian youth are said to be lazy, but take the effort to read the article in full. You will arrive at the opposite conclusion.
Opposite conclusion?
Why did you say that?
I read the article, and all I got is that by some measure that woman is related to Buhari.

And I as well subscribe to her resigning from that position. Better still, Buhari should transfer her to another ministry.

Education / "What Is The Difference Between Here And There?" by micolaj: 5:16pm On Jan 05, 2019
"What is the difference between *here*and *there*?

This was the question a 13-year-old student was asked in English language class.

And then, he gave this unusual response: *T*
Yes, *T* . Funny?

But, frankly, is *T* really the difference between *here* and *there*?

Irrespective of our age, background and status, we all have aspirations.
It could be about school we want to go, certificate we want to obtain, job we want to do, business empire we want to build, car we want to buy, family we want to raise, and status we want to attain. Anything.

And it is these burning desires that wake entrepreneurs up in the morning, keep workers busy during the day, and keep students late at night.

However, our motivation do wane when all these desired ends are not in sight, and when our paths seem farther from destination- the place we want to be. We start losing confidence in ourselves, even more, our future. We begin to ask when will I be there?

Surprisingly, only our past can answer us, and that answer comes from our early childhood's experience.

Then our little selves will cry whenever someone takes away our toys or mummy leaves us for kitchen. But we can't help ourselves since we just learning to sit up, talkless of walking down to take that toy.

And then, with time, we start crawling. Now, we retrieve our toys. With time, we start standing. Now, we happily kick our sister's leg. With time, we start running.
Now, we fetch our older brother's football. Finally, with time, we start running. And now, we speed out to welcome mummy from market. Time.

This childhood's experience serves as a rich source of inspiration for us to see our journey to that destination we desired as a matter of time.

Now, we know that the boy was right as the difference between between HERE and THERE is T.

And that T is TIME needed for us to get THERE- where we want to be.

I guess the farmers would have to pluck these profits from the air as the sole purpose of any business is profit making even; "non-profits" make profits I find these idea flawed. Except they are selling directly to the consumers, it defeats the purpose.

"Farmcrowdy’s revenue model operates on a split system for sponshorships: principal plus 40 percent for sponsors, 40 percent for farmers, and 20 percent for Farmcrowdy. For example, if an investor sponsored a maize farm for 6 months at $1000 and at harvest the produce sold for $1500, the sponsor would regain their investment ($1000) plus 40 percent of profits ($600), the farmer $600 (40 percent), and Farmcrowdy $300 (20 percent)."

Hmm

I knew something like this would surface.

This is just the beginning of their plans for Tinubu after 2019. They want to cut his political influence to size.

And I think it will foolish for Tinubu to be glad about winning the primaries today. His battle has just started with the cabals ( presidency and sw Governors).
