[size=15pt]WHAT TO WEAR TO CHURCH: THE ANKARA EDITION[/size]
Hey Lovelies

Last week and the week before we had modern looks for our church outfit idea, this week we bringing you the Ankara edition… Ankara as we know is versatile, it’s the No 1 go to fabric for any and every occasion.

Below are a series of styles that are decent and moderate enough to work to church.

Off-shoulder

@_tinky styles a wax print off shoulder knee length flared dress with a crystal brooch, gold jewelries and silver heels which goes in sync with the creamish white taffeta fabric up top. This look is subtle and stylish, perfect for Sunday service.


Mix print Iro and Buba


Ronke fella stuns in this simple tradition/modern outfit. She rocks two star wax print of different colors, the yellow star print she uses for her off shoulder longs leeve buba (blouse) while the blue star print is used for the iro (wrapper). She complements her attire with an ankara wax print bag, gold chain necklace, dark shade sunglasses and a cream slip on.



Umbrella Flare


This attire takes the form of an umbrella, this diva’s style is a crisscross flap sleeve flared dress which looks quite like an umbrella. This outfit is paired with a black leather bag and a black with gold stud ankle strap heel.


Batik

Folake works a lovely sparkly orange and black batik pants with a brown belt, cream chiffon shirt, orange brown leather clutch and black sandal heel. She brightens her look with yellow colored nail polish.


Purple Shade


Yomi’s attire is a way to mix different Ankara print with similar shades, here she rocks a purple elbow sleeved Ankara with another multiple purple shade high waist Ankara ankle length flared skirt. She completes her look with a purple peep toe heel and a blue hue bejewelled purse.


Different hue

Yomi Shabi’s look here is simple and beautiful, she rocks a multiple hue high waist floor length yoke skirt which she pairs with a sheer lace blouse with a white singlet, shoulder length earring and a yellow bag with multiple colors as the handle.

Hey ladies,

We can’t but recognize women making impact in our society. I salute the women even against all odds in this male-dominated society striving to do what they can for their society. They are girls, ladies and women we can’t ever forget and as they say educate a girl, educate a Nation.

Our celebrity style crush for this week is Yemi Alade. This Afro-pop singer born to a Yoruba Father and Igbo Mother is a lover of music and dance. She came into limelight after winning the maiden edition Of Peak Talent Show in 2009 and since then, there has been no stop to her rise in fame. Popularly called Mama Africa, after her latest album titled Mama Africa. This 27 year old singer is an internationally-acclaimed singer who has seen performed with the likes of M.I, Wizkid, Waje, Falz. Mary.J. Blige and so many others.

This energetic dancer and lover of fashion is sure one fashion icon to reckon and watch out for. A lover of African Ankara prints which she has been seen in incorporate into her outfits. With a fashion style that speaks simplicity and Africa, she is one African and proud to be black woman. Below are some of her best dressed moments
