Politics / Re: Nigerians Dying Of Hunger, Very Heartbreaking – Obi Reacts To Stampede In Lagos by MikoB: 9:37am On Feb 26
Everything shouldn't be abt politics,my sincere condolence to those that died, every economy reform all over the world always come with some inconveniences and after sometimes the positive impacts will be noticed, but the only fear I have with nigerias' own is that the gains from the inconveniences might by misused and embezzled by the same people that brought the reforms.
Anyway, let us all give Tinubu a little more time, he might surprise all of us,because these reforms are the only way to go, if you desire better infrastructure and development.

Af0nja:

You know nothing bro, even in Dubai and most Arab countries. Bureau d change is open. All over CFA countries, it's open and people exchange money on the border for travelers. I doubt where you've been to. One of the first needs of a traveler is money and they Don't need to go to the bank to change money

I told you developed countries I didn't mention any Arab country, all Arab countries are still developing, moreover, even if money is changed at the borders, it will only be registered companies or entities that are mostly allowed, not like the abokis on every street in nigeria without regulations.

You went to the bank to change currency, and you compare that to the open system of exchange??

There is no open stystem like the one in nigeria here, it's either in the banks or a regulated closed offices.

Then you should know that every country has an open exchange system and no one regulates such things. People change money across borders and it's one of the easiest things you can do in any country. Even easier than buying a sim

No one regulates? I can see you know nothing, I am living in a city of over 400thousand inhabitants, believe me the day I wanted to change euro to dollars, it took me over one week in the bank, so many questions and forms to fill, eventually they were the one that decided the limit of how much I can change.

There is no place in any developed country, that you will find trading of foreign currencies carelessly on the streets like in nigeria, both registered and unregistered, illiterates etc, that do not not even know the basic knowledge of economy are allowed to free-trade the currencies in nigeria. I am in support of clamping down on the street trade and I am suggesting apart from the airports, every other currency trade should be done in the banking hall, every bank should create a space for a registered bdc transaction for a better monitoring.

Yes bro, within APC as a party Osibanjo stands out, but do you think if he had won the ticket Northerners would have voted him the way they voted Tinubu? The answer is No. Atiku would have won before 12pm that day. It's only a strong man like Tinubu that would have defeated Atiku in the North. With Osibanjo PDP would've return to power by now.

I don't think so, I believe the primary was the only hurdle for osinbajo, he would have won with landslide victory in a general election , I had analysed this before.

Nigeria problem is not about one man being non-corrupt, it is way deeper than that.

Personally, I have seen no politician that has the integrity of Buhari. But while Buhari might have integrity and not steal, many of his appointees supervised various stealing coz a man in Aso rock won’t police the whole Nigeria by himself.

What am I even saying. Even ordinary civil servant corrupt sotey wey dey no dey even scared of stealing and extorting citizens on camera.

See ELupee party wey never even get power with scandals everyday. How much more when they see real power? When Abure fit just sign on paper and move 50billion through his pen. E go get some kind position and access wey you go get and it’ll only take God’s grace for you not to be corrupt.

Osinbajo seem clean too, but to rule Nigeria, you must be very bold and immune to insults. If Osinbajo float naira and people slander him for 3 weeks straight, he will fold and retract his decision. We don’t need weak leaders like that.

I got your point brother, but you see nigeria is a sick country, we need a president that is corrupt free and bold, the little time Osinbajo ruled independently for three months, we could all see he was bold and things stabilised, if not for him there wouldn't have been onoghen as chief judge, he also dealt with the dss guy, naira gained value against dollars, he paid unexpected visits to many parastatals of government, I am priveledged to know him maybe that is why I am so convinced about him, believe me Osinbajo is good, even Obi acknowledges this in Osinbajo.

Almost everybody and all sectors in the country smell corruption, I have never been convinced by Obi ever since I saw that he hide money in safe haven without declaration, I advocated for Osinbajo and I am very sure some of the people that went against him have beginning to regret it by now.

Agreed with him 100%,Nigeria is a very poor country with enormous potentials, but the issue now is that the little revenue she makes goes to the pockets of you politicians, and with this, there is no way for the economy to expand and generate more money to sustain the ever growing population and take them away from poverty.

I have been saying this severally,Nigeria needs to block corrupt leakages in every sector, by doing this, it is then any policy of the govt will work, the economy hardship of today were the loot and corruption of many decades ago, and still the leaders of today still continue to embezzle carelessly for future hardship of the populace, there is no magic to a boom economy than a productive country, as a country what are we producing both for local or foreign consumptions? I am afraid nigeria might collapse very soon the way she is going, unless the masses start to ask questions, you cannot continue to praise the people that are destroying your future, these guys at the helms of affairs are worst than the kidnappers and armed robbers that you and I want to stone to death if been caught..

Naira will continue to fall as long as our politicians continue to embezzle the treasury with carelessness, by not utilising the little money will make as a country, do you think nigeria is rich? The answer is NO but Nigeria has potentials to be rich which I agree, Nigeria budget is not upto a region in france which is like a state in nigeria, france with a population of about 66million and nigeria over 200million. What a serious govt need to do is to reduce all avenue of corruption in wasteful manners, and also try to be creative in generating more revenue to the economy, by doing this, there will be more productions enough for both local and foreign demands and consumptions with this, the naira will be stabilised.

Many nigeria youths are so stupid and hopeless! Imagine the future of the country? Lets be sincere, nigerians need a genuine orientation and good leadership, the potentials are there, we must hold all our political leaders accountable, they cannot just be embezzling the treasury without consequences, let start by protesting in every bad road spot in your community and show it to the world consistently through social media,I know the governors don't like this, ask them what they use your money for, until we start doing this, the leaders will continue to rob you of your commonwealth.

We should all wait and see how it plays out with Tinubu, but with the little I've seen from him, I think he has proven to be a very good politician but not convincing in other section of governance. If truly any govt is serious you have to first minimise the level of corruption in the country, and how can you achieve this? I bet u if corruption in the banking system is tackled just know for sure that 50% of Nigeria problems are solved, without the coperation from the banks there is no way these corrupt people will be able to loot blindly without consequences, here in western world the banks are like agents of the govt to tackle financial recklessness from any entity, all the money transfered abroad or hiden cannot be made possible without the banks in nigeria, any suspicious money in any individual acct should accounted for.

Tinubu caused it, he should have allowed Akeredolu to impeach this guy, I am not saying Akeredolu was a saint or that I'm in support of whatever bad decisions he would have taken when governing the state, but what I don't like is the betrayal from the deputy gov then, in life what will be will be, if he had remain loyal and not too desperate, he would still be sworn in, for those saying he did nothing wrong, I pray you should not witness betrayal in any form, it is then you will know how hurtful it is, Buhari was sick for over 3 months, Osinbajo never made any move to get him displaced, look at Jonathan, it was the masses that fought for him.

Tinubu and Ganduje dissapointed Akeredolu by not allowing him to impeach this guy, he has proven not to be a loyal deputy, imagine him celebrating and congratulating someone for the swearing in.Anyway I hope everyone especially the politicians can see that in life you just have to live good by being good, we bring nothing to this world and we will take nothing when leaving, all the unnecessary wealth willl acquire is all stupidity, we cannot even sleep on two beds at the same time, talkless of slepping in two rooms the same time, if you like steal to buy a Ferrari car, it will not make you speed more than 50km on roads that have 50km as maximum speed permitted, so brethren the most important thing in life is happiness, do all you can to be happy always. I am sure privately Putin wants this unnecessary war to end already, but his ego willl not let him admit it publicly, Russia has lost more than they bargained for. Anything that makes this war drag long in 2024, you will see the end of russia, the west have seen that putin cannot use the nuclear he threatened with, this obviously have made the west to supply more dangerous weapons to Ukraine, by the time F16 and Rafael assault jets join the war in 2024,i think that will mark the end of russia in the war.
