Have a man to man talk with your father. Fathers understand these things even more than mothers.

Good point. Thanks
Nairaland / General / The Wife Has Refused To Leave My Parent's House. by Milord4u: 10:21am On May 10
Recently, I read a story of a woman who canceled her wedding with a man because the man refused to leave his family house. The reverse is the case in my situation.

After I started working and earning money for myself, I informed my parents of my intention to park out of the family house and get a place to stay on my own. My parents were not happy with my decision, they couldn't understand why I wanted to leave the house since my place of work is within the local government , Moreover, the family house is a 6-bedroom duplex where they lived with only two maids, and a gateman.

After every persuasion on me not to leave, I stood my ground and left to rent a flat where I live alone because I wanted my privacy. But I do visit them once in a while.

I recently got married, and have been living with my new wife in my flat. I had to travel to another state for work where I will be spending two weeks. So I convince my wife to go spend the period with my parents to keep them company.

Now it's one month and going to two months since I returned from my journey, my wife has connived with my parents and refused to follow me back to our rented flat. They are now persuading me to relocate back to the family house. Now my parents are telling me that since my wife is comfortable staying in the family house with them, why is me who is their son running away from them?

Look at me now now dragging my wife with my parents. The other day I just came and saw that my wife and mother have even sewed uniform clothes like that. My mother even registered my wife in a driving school without informing me. I don't know if they are now the ones marrying my wife or if I'm the one because these days my wife spends the most time with them especially my mother who now sees her as her handbag that she carries around anywhere she goes.

Omo, I'm temporarily forced to stay in the family house for now, while I strategies on how best to drag my wife away from them without offending anyone.

Guys, What do you think I do?
