ananne: You can't seek admission into a direct Ph.D program with a B.Sc/HND degree in Nigeria. Nevertheless, it is very feasible for deluxe students to get a direct fully-funded Ph.D admissions in the United States. Things you need to do: Graduate with a stellar CGPA, and prepare for the GRE and ace it. Regards. 1 Like |

Emir0147: To buttress HelkayKlassic's basis. NOUN certificates are of international standard. The only difference which can be noticed between NOUN and conventional universities is their mode of studies. In term of studies, you take responsibilities for your studies, unlike in conventional academic institutions, where they mostly depend on lecturers for lectures. However, a lot of students has raised unnecessary and extrinsic concern about the validity and acceptability of NOUN certificate. One thing, should be clear and that is, the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is a well-recognized academic institution, which is solely owned and funded by the Federal Government of Nigeria, and regulated by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Helkayklassic: Feasibly, your certificate will be ready next year January, if only you meet up with the required credit units. NOUN gives out certificate to graduands every first month of the year (January), during convocation, which is one of the 'ample endowment' of the National Open University of Nigeria. Per contra, you do not need to wait till next year January before you start your application. Request for your transcript to be sent to the school you're applying to. This can be done at the NOUN headquarters, pending the time your certificate would be issued. Best of luck! 1 Like |

lakesidepapa: Genuinely, NOUN doesn't go on strike unlike Conventional Universities. However, if the indefinite strike probably starts tomorrow, there would be mass demonstrations across the Country. Protesters/Agitators will shut down Filling Stations and form human barriers along motorways, thereby barring movements of people (NOUN Officials/Students inclusive) from one place to another. |

mrpunter: Considerately, I/We are not in the best position to recommend a Course of Study for you. Passionately, you should be the one to choose a Course of Study that your heart desires, as mentioned by you. NOUN do offer Hospitality Management (B.Sc.). Tourism Management and Hospitality Management go hand in hand. You would find it difficult to think of a tourism experience that did not include some form of hospitality provision/accouterments. Judiciously, you can opt for their Hospitality Management programme and I assure you, you won't regret doing so in the long run. Best of Luck! |

jorhney: You are required to register for both CIT499 and MTH499 due to the dual/joint degree. Your final year involves a research project that draws/cut across the knowledge of Computer Science and Mathematics as well as offering a range of options to allow specialisation in different aspects of both courses. So, you should also know that, this joint degree (BSc Hons) offers the opportunity to combine an appreciation of mathematical reasoning with an understanding of computing. Divine Favour Awaits You! |

ebiye55: On NOUN iLEARN, you can locate fellow course-mates, other students within your Study Centre and all your facilitators. NOUN is an Open & Distance Learning University; implying that physical interaction between fellow students and facilitators is limited. If a student must get the required network, avenues that go beyond physical interaction must be available. And this is one of the benefits of NOUN iLEARN. To boot, you can as well join a study group with your cohorts at your SC or better still, relate with your course-mates on this infamous internet forum (Nairaland). Regards! |
