Hi guys, please is It compulsory to register at least 1 Elective in a semester? I have already met the 90 units requirements with the Core Courses. Must I still register an Elective Course?

Elective Courses are not mandatory. However, you can take them to boost your transcript and ameliorate your CGPA.

Additionally, you need to be very selective and/or be careful when choosing the Course because such Course can make or mar your performance/CGPA in the long run.

@uau

Must one attend the convocation to get the certificate? Do you have any info about steps to take to get the certificate without necessarily being at the convocation. My name is on the list by the way.

It's not mandatory.
If you know you can't make it to the convocation, due to some logistic reasons. The penalty/retribution is, after the convocation, you'll have to go and obtain your certificate at the headquarters.

You're required to go to the headquarters with a duly completed and authenticated clearance form issued at your Study Centre.

All the best!

but most people i know their names appeared have not done the alumni payment/registration.

i personally went to the accountant office to enquiry about the alumni payment and the lady that attended to me said i must see my name on the list before paying for alumni.

Very valid!
You 'must' see your name on the list before paying and/or undergoing any kind of clearance/approval.

Am a master student. The programme is for 4 semesters. BT I finished it with my project between 3 semesters. My third semester result is not yet out. BT based on the 5th convocation. Is it possible for me to graduate. Even when my result is not yet out. And when I checked my portal I was asked to pay compulsory fees of 13000. Which have did. Another question is I still see some courses on my portal compulsory once. Which have passed before. The same title but different course codes. What can I do

The programme is for 3 semesters, and not 4 semesters.
Seeing that you have already amassed the 45 credit units (project inclusive) required for the programme, presumably no carry-over, you'll feasibly see your name on the Grad List (New).

Reason: Last semester's result has been compiled, but the result will be out on your portal by February or early March

i learnt there be an award of excellent performance.

Not only an award of distinctive achievement. You would also be offered an automatic employment in the institution (NOUN).

According to the Vice-Chancellor and I quote, "First Class graduates, who wish to join us in our institution, will now become members of our academics."

May God Help You!

i have a J brother who is interested in Enrolling into Environmental health, and he only has an o 'level result, the issue is that these course only starts 4rm 200level on the noun website e - courseware, Does it mean they do not admit into 100level at all,or whats ur take on these . Thanks.

If the course (Environmental Health) commences from 200Level as stated on the NOUN website. That artlessly signifies that NOUN only admit into 200Level (DE) for that course, and not 100Level.

Help please help me out.
I have not done registration due to remita network ish in kaduna state.
I don't know if making school fees payment by the end of this month is disastrous.
I want to know from graduating students if the NYSC stuff has been finalized.

Please, someone should help me out with this. I'm just about to enroll to the school. I want to study Bsc. Computer science. I don't know if there is any means of payment outside going to the bank, cux the network has been behaving for the past 1week.
I'm just confused.

Making payment for school fees by this month ending won't be fatal or too late. Nevertheless, Do not relent till when the network is back to normalcy.

Withal, concerning the NYSC issue, stay put and stay glued to your tv set on the convocation day (next week Saturday) to hear it from the horse's mouth.

I wasn't the Nairalander that asked that question but pls, in reference to what you said. Will noun accept a University diploma certificate with Distinction from a recognised sch like Unilag.
.
The reason why I'm skeptical, is because , there is a disparity between Uni-diploma and Poly-diploma.
Thanks in advance.

Sir, they should accept it, however, you can go and consult a weathered counselor at your intended SC to clarify and clear your doubts/skepticisms.

I have registered my courses. My problem now is that my project is showing 40k. I am in 2nd semester masters. I want to start my project as soon as possible, I must register the project with 40k before I start? I just pay 40k today and left with 14k in my portal. What is the best thing for me to do now cos I must finish this program as soon as possible.

If you are financially buoyant to add to the remaining 14k, you can go ahead. Better still, you can wait till the subsequent semester.

Nonetheless, you 'must' put it in mind that it should be the very first/prime course to register in your subsequent semester.

All the best!

I mean lecturing activities.

NOUN is a Self-Taught institution. You should not expect lectures.

Howbeit, you can form a group discussion with your course mates and/or join discussions organised by NOUN facilitators.
