Education / Jamb Updates- 2017 by Minatyger1(f): 8:36am On Feb 16, 2017
I know many aspirants of tertiary institutions have been waiting patiently for the sales of the 2017 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Many can't wait for the sales of form to commence, while some out of desperation has fallen into wrongs hands by buying fake JAMB Forms.

The bitter truth is that the 2017 JAMB FORM is yet to commence due to many factors around it. Students are advised to keep their fingers crossed and wait patiently for the real JAMB FORM to be out.

Once the the form is out, the news of the sales will be all over the news and it will also be in the internet. It will be published on JAMB Website too.

According to , Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, from the Registrar of the examination body as regards sale of 2017 JAMB Form is as follows , he advised students to wait for the date of the sales of JAMB FORM to be announced. Because the news of fake 2017 JAMB FORM is on sale.

“The public is hereby notified that JAMB has not commenced the sales of its application documents as advertised by some unknown and desperate persons.

“They are to disregard any website or individuals claiming to be in possession of these documents and offering same for sales.
“We are putting finishing touches to innovation and changes to ease the challenges associated with the procedure of application for the 2017 all Computer-Based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
“We are looking forward to announcing the commencement of the sales of these documents very soon,’’

Education / Gain 200l Direct Entry Into Any University Of Your Choice With Ijmb by Minatyger1(f): 12:19pm On Jan 29, 2017
I know a lot of intending students or aspirants that has been battling with Jamb and all UTME Examinations but to no avail.

Here is the good news for you. You don't need to sweat anymore because you can gain a direct entry into 200 Level in almost all Nigerian Universities and Overseas.

After a one year (2 semester) program in the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) aspirants can go ahead and apply for a 200 Level Direct Entry in any Nigerian Universities or Universities Abroad.

The programme is approved by FEDERAL GOVERNMENT as a platform for securing university admission into university in Nigeria and outside. Its moderated by ABU, Zaria with different study centers nationwide.

It is also certified by the NIGERIA UNIVERSITY COMMISSION(NUC) as an A’ level programme that qualify students into 200 level in the university upon successful completion of the programme. CHECK JAMB BROCHURE TO CONFIRM.

IJMB is accepted in over 80% of Nigerian universities and even abroad. Also IJMB certificate does not expire. Click here to see universities that accept IJMB.

In the final analysis, the rationale for enrolling for IJMB is that few students use this medium to apply for university admission as shown in below bar chart as opposed to the congested UTME platform thus the chance of securing admission with IJMB is extremely high and guaranteed.

Education / NUC To Bann Some Tertiary Institutions Due To The School Naming. by Minatyger1(f): 8:28pm On Jan 27, 2017
This is to inform the general public, Federal Universities, State University, Private Universities, Federal Polytechnics, State Polytechnics and all other Tertiary Institutions, that the managing director of the National University Commission (NUC) announced today 27-01-2017 that all tertiary institutions that does not bear or carry the name of what they are doing will be banned or closed down.

This decision was taken because of the misunderstanding of the names most tertiary institutions bear. And according to the managing director of NUC, this is misleading many people of not knowing the actual course of study in most Nigerian tertiary institutions.

He went further to say that all tertiary institutions should be doing and be studying what they are actually called and not the other way around.

For instance, if a tertiary institution is called Rivers State University of Science and Technology, the school should only be offering science courses to their students, applicants or aspirants. The school is not permitted to offer non science courses according to the new NUC laws.

Any tertiary institution that fails to comply or meet up with the new NUC standard and laws will be banned or closed down by NUC.

Education / RUST TO CHANGE NAME TO RIVERS STATEUNIVERSITY (RSU) DUE TO NUC DEMANDS. by Minatyger1(f): 8:18pm On Jan 27, 2017
This is to notify the general public, students, non academic staff, and academic staff that the popularly renowned name for the Rivers State University of Science And Technology (RUST) but popularly called or known as UST might be changing its name soon to Rivers State University (RSU).

And this change is due to the National University Commission (NUC) method of approving and accreditation of names for Tertiary Institutions.

According to the managing director, all tertiary institutions should carry or bear the name that they posse. I.e all tertiary institutions should carry the name of what they do and not the other way around.

So if the Rivers State University of Science And Technology wants to maintain its famously known name, it has to scraped all other non science faculties and departments in the school to keep the name (RUST or UST).

Otherwise, the school will be banned and closed down by the National University Commission (NUC) body.

PERSONAL THOUGHT-

I don't really thinks this will go down well for RUST because they are doing many non science courses. They are one of the biggest and largest when it comes to the Faculty of Law in the country presently.

Also when it comes to the Faculty of Management Sciences, they are also one of the leading tertiary institution in the country. So i don't see any possibility of RUST maintaining that name, if NUC would really stick to their decisions.

But rather i see Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RUST) changing its popular name to Rivers State University (RSU) so as to keep the school away from NUC's probes because i don't see RUST doing only Science Courses and scrapping out all other non science courses.
