Thank you so much! I was glad to help.

Re: my face: I uploaded a profile picture here a month ago. grin

I've seen your profile picture!.... smiley
I like your sense of humor. You are a very lovely person.
Although our case isn't at your post, and you couldn't be of assistance, I haven't stopped reading this thread. I haven't stopped admiring you.

You are one of a kind, dear VO.I doubt there's anyone else like you really.
I see what you do here for people and I know what it must mean to them.
I know you are like a miracle to many on here, because this process really sends you on a terrible emotional and psychological roller coaster.

I wish they'd send you to Ghana though.... cheesy.
Wherever you go, you would find overwhelming favor. May doors open for you....May obstacles yield. May happiness flood your life.
Whatever your heart desires, may God grant to you exceedingly and abundantly.

I don't know any of the numerous people you've assisted, but THANK YOU.
GOD RICHLY BLESS YOU!

The grateful hearts of the people on here are a most powerful prayer and blessing for you.

You are amazingly special and you are so much appreciated.
Keep doing what you do for people.

I wish you all the best at your next post.

Thank you so much. We'd see how it pans out.

Once again, VO, I want to tell you that your graciousness is so much appreciated. You are very helpful to people on here, it's amazing.
If you believe in God, he has a special place for you.

You almost lose faith in humanity until people like you happen.
I have come to know first hand how unimaginably difficult it is to be separated from your beloved and then have to go through so much....it drains you of life.

You would find favor wherever you go.
That is my prayer for you.

Thank you.

Hello VO.

I hope you are well.
Unfortunately, the Accra consulate denied the expedite request. I was really hoping they'd have a similar approach to military cases like your consulate does....

Fortunately however, we were able to fill out the ds 260 last weekend!
I've had suggestions that perhaps the expedite request was denied because the consulate couldn't really have pushed things along with us being stuck and unable to submit a DS 260 because of the computer issues there was.

I would appreciate your opinion on this theory and whether another attempt is wise.

Thank you.

I can't speak for Accra, but it's a common policy. Nothing ventured, nothing gained...

Good day VO.

We ventured.
Applied for the expedite last week (17th) and received feedback on 23rd that the request was under review.

I suppose that means it's with the Accra consulate now? ....Fingers crossed.

Also, another question.
Regarding the attached photo from the ceac website, does the last paragraph pertain to an expedite request or do consulates have other ways of helping us out if we contact them?

It's been a month since IV fee payment and ceac website still doesn't show the payment, thus no DS 260 still.
It's so difficult right now....

Thank you so much for your attention.

I have good news for you. We do generally expedite cases for spouses and children of active military members, to show our respect for their service. Please go ahead and ask NVC for an expedite, and we'll see what we can do! (And here's hoping the computers let us process your case. And everyone else's.)

Thank you very much for the reply!
That is reassuring to know, but does it apply to all consulates or just at yours/Nigeria?
My consulate is Accra-Ghana.
We have a good chance still?.....

Hello VO.

God bless you for all you do for us on here. It is not easy going through this IV process and solid guidance is a treasure to find.
Thank you for the sacrifice of your time and knowledge.

I have been reading this thread for a while now, but I have a question of my own today.

My husband petitioned for me. He is in the US military. All was going well by our estimated timelines till the computer glitches at NVC started.
All our plans since are beginning to unhinge.

We applied for military base housing since we cannot both board up in his current residence.
Because of the NVC computer issues, we are still waiting to fill the DS 260, after which we understand we wait up to 30 days to have it reviewed. We have already received a checklist for the DS 260...all other documents submitted have been reviewed and are okay.

We have surprisingly (and unusually) been offered base housing last week! if we decline, we get to the bottom of the now huge list again! if we accept, I have to be with my husband and move in by end of August. This is however a very good offer for us and we have been lucky!
Its just a mess for us right though and we are thinking of requesting an expedite for this reason.

By your experience, do you think our expedite would be granted? Does our situation qualify?
I ask you because I read somewhere that expedite requests are routed through the beneficiary's embassy before a decision is made. I know this is not a life or death situation, but for us, it presents hardship and disorganization of our life and where we are going to settle.

Please help. No one knows when NVC computer issues would clear and the backlog I can imagine is huge...it's pure angst. We could have waited out the normal process but the curveballs thrown at us has complicated our situation greatly.

In anticipation of your reply.....
