Family / Re: My Sister Beats My Mum, Guys What I'm I To Do? by MissJayne(f): 12:54am On Dec 29, 2017
splenzard:
Hello Fellow Nlanders,

Compliments of the season.

As this may be the season of happiness, not everyone partakes in the joy of the festivity, I am one of those. Let me cut the chase and go straight to the point.

I'm a 400 level student of civil engineering, I've got a younger sister, I'm older than her with a couple of years although she's yet to gain admission despite the fact that she has tried severally. she decided to start working pending whenever she gains admission.

Along the line, she became a cultist and she suddenly became a heavy smoker, drinker and a drug addict (tramadol, rephnol, codine, etc).

At this point my mum (she's a single mother, my dad died a couple of years back) did she least she could do by scolding, reporting her to the leaders in the church, kinsmen and everyone whom she thought she(my sister) would listen to but all these efforts proved abortive as she deteriorated further as she graduated to bringing men to the house at odd hours of the night.

As at last week, my mum called me and was sobbing over the phone, she told me that my younger sister beat her up because she confronted her about her behavior.

right now I'm confused, in order not to act rashly, i decided to seek for advice from this noble forum.

Please guys i need your matured advice here

To think about what you should do or the action you should take shows you don't have sense at all.
It also shows your brain needs reformatting because you can't even save your thoughts.
Matured advice gbuo gi there

EternalTruth:
I share the same pains with you dear.
I was so vibrant and ambitious this year and had the passion to aspire for teaching/lecturing so I choose education and crs.
but jamb rubbished us this year with ridiculous scores but I still managed to edged through University of Ibadan Utme cut off mark and intended using Postutme as the solid criteria for admission into the institution but hence the clueless minister of education cancelled postutme which compelled the premier school to adopt a disheartening o level and jamb modality to grade us and my dreams were thus dampened as my UTME score of 250 and my C5 grades in my 5 relevant subjects (neco result of 10 years.2006) couldn't drive me to attain 50 and I wasn't admitted into this non competitive course as my points fell at 47.5
I'm just so sad an frustrated after all the hardworking efforts that I put up this year.
right now all I need is resilience, tenacity and doggedness to bounce back and opt for jamb again but I'm so weak and depressed and I've lost faith.

Wow, wow... You wrote neco far back 2006.
Mehn,i feel your pain.
It's not easy.

I want to be a teacher someday though Nigeria's educational system don't want my dream to come true.
They want to frustrate and depress my life with Jamb

ShakurM:
(Eng 60; Lit 68; Govt 46; IRK 36)

'I knew English Language was never my mother tongue, hence my scheme of work favoured it significantly. Literature-in-English, hmm this, whatever I know on this subject can be adjudged to be self-taught as no one in particular can boast of being my teacher. Yes, you read it right!'

You scored 60 and 60+ in the two subjects you didn't really feel confident in. Hmmm

'Government... I believe far above average I stand. I taught SS1 & 2 government in my previous teaching job and this wouldn't have become possible if the 4 men-panel set up (2 of whom were PGD holders) to interview me had made otherwise decision. I am utterly confident that government is a subject not only I am well groomed in it, but also love tirelessly.'

'The last of the 4 subjects was IRK and by the virtue of it being my faith related subject, I felt a sense of familiarity with whatever questions waiting in-line for me from it. Nevertheless, I still needed to read and do some research on its areas I presumed difficult. All of these, to a convincible standard I did.'

You scored 46 and 36 in the subjects you were confident in. This is a case of overconfidence and unconfidence.
Your confidence get as e be o

Baba, no mistake in the script. Move with the 208 or start pricing JAMB form for next year

God bless you for this.
I noticed that many jambites that are complaining and creating topics every where on nairaland stated that the exam was simple. Many were smiling and answering.
Now, I'm forced to ask, is it from jamb or over confidence in examination.
It happens, why is everyone claiming that they were cheated?
Op, check yaself.
You performed better in subjects you weren't good in.

Some women are like that.
Can this be changed? Seems like her mind is set up already and also, i think it started from the type of home she grew up in.
She is stingy and that's it!
She doesn't have to date tons of men before knowing that helping a partner is appreciated.
