Either word, ability or quality, presupposes the existence of a possessor. If this is so, then energy is only as durable as the thing which possesses it. Do you disagree? If you do, then you'll need to show me how energy is something other than my definition.

Energy: A fundamental entity of nature that is transferred between parts of a system in the production of physical/metaphysical change within the system and usually regarded as the capacity for doing
work. Energy is not possessed but is a fundamental entity that ALL things must posses..Energy flows and manifest in ALL things.

Technically, science does not know. But something is expected at such a temperature. Theoretically, the thing is that thermal energy vanishes. A body or system at absolute zero is expected to retain only its ground state energy.
