Education / Re: Can You Go Back To JSS1 For 300million naira? by Mleeperbother: 5:42pm On Nov 15, 2022 |
grandstar: I got a surprise for you guys.
I was is the last set of Form 1 to Form 5 students. That was 1984-1889. When I was in Form 2,, the students that got admitted in 1985 were the first JSS 1 students.
My classmates who repeated joined the JSS set. That was brutal. They ended up spending 7 years in secondary school rather than the 5 years we spent. When I was in Form 5 ready to pack and leave, they were in SSS 1.
In 1984, the N50 groundnut today was 10 kobo. Soft drinks sold for 40k. A sweetened peanut like the "Burger peanut" sold for 50 kobo. Meatpie was 50k.
Life then was considered hard but in retrospect, much easier than today
In 1986, the Babangida government commenced the Structural Adjustment Programme. This led to the devaluation of the Naira. The effect was devastating.
Salary earners saw their earning drop in real terms. They suffered the most. The devaluation commenced the mass exodus of Nigerians overseas to search of foreign currency which was now king. Everyone wanted to Japa.
Many nigerians who had their children in British secondary school brought their children back home. My secondary school suddenly had students with a British accents. I can mimic a British accent down to this day.
Most were from British public schools. That's what the British call their elite secondary schools. One of the returnees had a very strong posh accent and snooty manners. He would fit neatly in the British Royal family. He is back in the UK and was a top 50 fencer tbere. Fencing is for the high class class of society. Not for paupers like me.
I don't understand. Why was your form2 not converted to Jss2? So your school was running SSS and form formats simultaneously? |

burritto: Call up/text your new connection/connections some days later to see how they’re doing. Make it brief and end the call. Call again and ask if he’ll like to meet again for a drink or something. If he agrees, then this is your chance. Tell him about what you do and how you’ll love to do businesses with him or he can get you referrals. If you’re a graduate, let him in on your job hunt and ask if he got friends who are in need of a person like you.
He will help you or connect you to someone. Remember you offered to buy him drink on the first day, so it’ll only be natural for him to be kind enough to reciprocate, cos he feels he owes you.
If you’re into other business or craft, he’ll call you up sometime and give you a good job. He won’t disappoint by giving you jobs of less than 100k, he’ll give you job worth millions. Remember your first impression was making him believe you are rich too.
You’ll be amazed at how much you’ve become and how much you’ll make in a short time.
If your first two connections fail, which I doubt, try again another time. I guarantee you that you’ll make far more money you’ve ever imagined in your life in a year and more in subsequent years ahead.
They’ll introduce you to their friends and friends of their friends.
Before I forget, if you’re into any form of craft like bead making or tailoring, make sure you add premium to your price. Do not be afraid to give him/her a premium price. Let’s say it cost you 10k to make a bead, and you sell it to your neighbors for 15k or 20k, sell it to your new connection at 250k of 300k or even 1 million Naira, depending or how you size the person up, remember Nobody values any cheap thing. They’ll pay, trust me. If they don’t buy then they’re not the people you’re looking for.
Follow this step and I guarantee you success in the first one year or two. That little business of yours that barely even makes 30k monthly will be raking in millions.
They’ll give you that great job that you as a graduate or a jobless man never hope or anticipated you’ll ever land.
When you’ve achieved some level of connection and money from this level, it’s time to upgrade using the same technique but with a different level of people.
Master this art and you’ll see yourself turn to a millionaire in a very short time. Poverty will be a thing of the past and you’ll be a proud father or mother to your children cos you’ll be able to get them whatever they want and need and you’ll leave an amazing legacy behind.
Also Learn to respect people and don’t look down on anyone.
Treat the taxi drivers, receptionist and even people who open doors for you at the restaurant the same way you’ll treat a CEO.
Guys, Start today and make plans. Save up that little money you have for something serious and make sure your every move is calculated. You can keep a journal to monitor your progress.
One day you’ll look back to how you started small and how big you’ve become.
You can make it if you try.
Nice thread, sir. What about those of us with no skills to offer to these big men? I am constantly fighting to afford treatment with nothing left to acquire any skill. |
Religion / Re: US Pastor, Creflo Dollar, Denounces His Position On Tithing, I Was Wrong (video) by Mleeperbother: 1:05pm On Jul 04, 2022 |
4tunebest: For me, personally, the reason why I pay tithe is not because the Bible commands it or not. I pay tithe just to show God that I am grateful for provision and would willingly give a part of it to show my gratitude. I know how poverty dealt with me in the past and how God intervened to make me swim in the abundance I have now. So for someone like me, tithing is an act of gratitude to God and no propaganda can make me stop paying tithe.
My conviction is beyond what is written in the scriptures or what pastors preach
There is so much controversy about payment of tithes because some pastors chose to preach tithe by instilling fear and telling congregants "the Bible commands it". They failed to approach and teach tithing from a place of deep love for God and willingness to give. Nobody should be compelled to pay tithe. Rather, pastors should focus on genuinely winning the hearts of congregants to have genuine love for God and they wont have to compel, force, preach, harass or guilt-trip them into paying tithes.
Payment of tithe should come fro a place of deep love for God and not because a pastor said the Bible commands it.
I wish others that have a contrary view to tithing, all the best How about giving to the needy instead? |
