Family / Re: What Do I Do About My Mum? by momokiddies: 2:54am On Nov 04, 2018
what your mum did was wrong. she placed her own selfish desire over your own well being. painfully, she deceived you making you think she's got the goods already.
if she was a role model to look up to, she would have told you earlier so you could know what to do. truth is, she is likely not to pay that money so do not expect it. count it as bad business ; collect the balance left and never trust her with money again.
she will try to blackmail you emotionally, but when it comes to money and business, shun her off. she's a cheat , a thief and a liar, yet she's your mother who probably love you most but she's selfish.
I have no problem with her using the money, but she never told you and made you believed she's got the goods and will often divert when you asked to see them. my dear that is fraud.

I pray I find a Samaritan. I need a laptop even if it is used. I am a teacher ; I need it to make my work easier and to make teaching fun for my pupils. I need it for preparing worksheets, too, flashcards videos and many more.
I used to have one, but it packed up and I am so loaded that I can't afford one now. Thanks in anticipation

pam09:

Well my friend had her second baby about 11 months after the first baby both with cs. Since the fibroid was removed during the delivery then there is hope . In as much as u need to talk to us Dr, it's first of all what u want. Do u want to keep the baby? If the answer is yes, then have this at the back of ur mind:
> yes ur bomb and body can carry a healthy baby, I 've seen it before
>chances are high for birthing the baby without complication but with good medicare
> u need to have positive thaughts and make positive confessions on ur self and ur baby
> the delivery is definitely going to be through cs
> if apart from the fibroid u had no further complication during the healing process then u re ok and u can make it
> it's not an easy journey but with God on ur side u will come out with song of praise and thanksgiving
> u are not alone on this, some has had similar experience and some are experiencing it now
> u can do it if u believe it.
All the best dear.

yes I will like to have this baby but I am putting my own life first.
thank you

Education / Re: 2-Year-Old Baby Attacks A 9-Month-Old Baby At The Daycare (Photos) by momokiddies: 4:36pm On Aug 19, 2018
I find it hard to believe the caregivers claim. how easy was a 9 month old child bitten this hard and she didn't scream in pains ? how far away was the caregiver from the children. I understand the mother plight and annoyance for calling the other child a demon. she's hurting. I would rather she pour her annoyance on the babysitter

Family / 15 Ways To make your child more confident by momokiddies: 12:08pm On Aug 17, 2018
Parenting is never a ‘smooth walk to the park’ it could be demanding especially if you want to raise confident and admirable kids.
Carl Pickhardt, a psychologist, said that children who lack confidence do not to try new challenges because they are scared of failing, thus preventing them to lead a good life and a successful career.
Here are the fifteen ways to raise confident children:
1. Applaud their efforts whether they win or lose.
2. Teach them that it is okay to fail, because it gives new room to try again, learn again and make better preparations.
3. If your child failed at something, rather than criticize, tell them to keep practicing to build competence.
4. Do not belittle their performance but you can give feedback while been mindful of your choice of words and the child’s emotions.
5. Too much parental help kills a child’s confidence and makes them dependent. Doing everything for your child is not love but confidence wrecking.
6. Psychologists have proven that rejection is one of the killer agents of confidence. Let them know that not everyone will like them; neither will everyone be friends with them.
7. Encourage them to ask questions even if it doesn’t sound right. ‘it is one who asks that knows’
8. Avoid setting unrealistic milestone for your child. There are some things that your child can’t do and won’t do because of his age.
9. Always come up with new challenges for your child: picking new hobbies, learning a language, taking skills classes, taking exams, building and many more.
10. Tell them that they can achieve a lot by believing in themselves, even if others do not.
11. Teach them what you know how to do. Ranging from baking, knitting, and any skill you posses.
12. Celebrate the excitement of learning- encourage curiosity
13. Use the reward system; it motivates children to go the extra mile to get a task done. But do not overuse it, so your child does not ask for a reward every time.
14. Be authoritative, but not too strict and forceful.
15. Showing them that you love and care for them is not a sign of weakness ¬- It boosts a child’s confidence.

What parenting skill are you using to build confidence in your child?

Rest! Rest! Rest!

I wake mine up by 5:15am, so that she'll catch up with the 7:15am set time, stays till almost 4pm before getting home. That goes on for almost 4 months in a term, and when it's holiday, she can't get some rest and play around?

Let the kids rest joor.

5:15am ? she needs rest truly Moor lol.

I know a teacher in a big private school (elementary). If she had a hundred Naira for each time a parent called her to ask about holiday classes (in tones suggesting they cannot wait to get these kids out of their way), she would be a double digit millionaire (if I exaggerate, it is only a little!) Many parents do not want to parent but for "Socaiti" and its pressure on people to do the matrimony, lol. Even people who do not like children are compelled to spew forth children. Why won't this people enroll their kids in holiday boarding school if those were available? grin

why give birth if you can't create time for them? those parents must be high I tell you. Already wanting the children out.
Family / Why Are You Changing Your Child's School ? by momokiddies: 2:40pm On Aug 16, 2018
Another academic year is at the comer, some parents are busy shopping for stationeries, school aids and making school fees payment plan; others are shopping for new school for their wards.
This is that season where most parents and guardians make that big decision- to change school for their children/wards or remain in their known school. Before you make that life changing decision, you have to ask yourself why.
There are negative effects of changing a child’s school, as much as there are positive effects
Likely reasons why parents change school for their wards

Poor academic performance

The school environment (dirty surroundings and lack of security)

Financial constraints

New financial level

Poor customer relationship

Incompetent teachers

Insufficient curriculum\ poor delivery

Relocation

Love for another school

Social issues

Selfish reasons and many more

Changing school might seem the easiest for you, but is it for your child? It might mark the beginning of a new academic height for your child, or the start of a doom.

A school is a home away from home, as parents, we should be sensitive about where our ward went to school. Schooling is beyond learning ABC. It is an institution which grooms a child’s perspective and prepares her for adult life. Look above face value it is all about the child.

Are you planning to change your child’s school? Why? Have you at any point changed your child’s school? Tell us the story.
Family / Poll:should Children Be In Or Out Of School During Summer? by momokiddies: 10:40am On Aug 16, 2018
It has become a culture to see pupils and students go back to school for ‘summer lesson’ when they are supposedly on break. It takes about nine to ten months to complete an academic year which are often characterized with rigorous learning and tedious task.

At the end of a session, children look forward to a ‘relax’ from all that school represents, but these days, the norm has been to see children bundled back to school for ‘summer lesson’

The question is should children be allowed to stay out of school, choose whatever way they want to spend their summer holiday, or they should be pushed back to school?

Argument for in school

• Summer school prepares children ahead of the new academic year
• Some teachers have argued that children who attended summer school scored higher grade than children who did not.
• The children are quick to settle back to school and learn
• Some summer schools teach their students skills such as bead making, art &raft, cookery, and many more.

Argument for out of school

• Children who spent their summer outside of the classrooms feel thrilled and look forward to a new academic year, while children who were in school are bored with routines.
• A child can still catch up and do well with the grades even if he was out of summer school
• After a stressed session shouldn’t children rest and play? ‘All works no play makes jack a dull boy’
• Being out of school allow children to explore and become creative in whatever their hands find doing.

What’s your opinion? Should children attend the traditional summer lesson, or spend their holiday in other ways? Why?

If you have kids, tell us, how are they spending their summer?
