Thanks a lot Bro. I finally got one, a small room about 18mins walking distance to Sch. I have been chasing the Landlord from Nigeria but he insisted on receiving payment from a Canadian bank. I opened bank account at the airport and got a sim there too cos its required for account opening. Room costs $1040 per month. I bet you its about the cheapest Student residential in Downtown. I was given a deal to pay for 3 months upfront and get one month free and I did. That averaged the cost to $780/month for 4 months. This has drained me but it has given me peace. Just patiently waiting for studies to begin in May. Still staying in my Airbnb till April ending and looking for part time student jobs. Please can you recommend any site or group/recruiters?

Rent may appear high (normal for Toronto), but it is a good choice in the circumstances. You can search Facebook for Groups offering cash jobs/weekend jobs/part time jobs. However, knowing your skills and discipline will help give more targeted answer

God bless you. Infact, I am not really after comfort now. I am paying more attention to proximity to my school. I believe comfort will come when i start work and then upgrade.

Chose proximity to your school over and over. Staying in Brampton or Mississauga will cost you significant time and money in transit

Good day my people. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experience and giving genuine answers to our fellow brothers and sisters. God bless us all. I need the help of a Nigerian doctor living in Canada preferably Ontario, a friend of mine has been having some health challenges but after going through some test and ultrasound nothing was seen and the hospital here are not giving any drugs to subsidize the pain. Please any doctors in the house who can assist or available for consultation, kindly help. Thank you very much.

Not realistic.

There is currently no process to convert a visit visa to permanent resident visa.

This has changed temporarily as at 01/06/2023

Words of advise to women who are coming without their spouses..if you coming with kids..get ready!!! I notice nobody talks about the reality on ground…It will hit hard, you will question why you embarked on the journey..

No fears..just prepare yourself! Relocation is huge! Prepare!!!!!!

This is so true. The only thing that can mitigate this is coming with plenty money... particularly if your destination is Southern Ontario.

How long will the money be in your account before you apply?

Do you have a valid explanation for the source if queried?

Family / Re: My Pregnant Neighbour Has Been Restless Because She's Carrying Twin by moneymagnetca: 8:32pm On Jan 22, 2023
UnfairLife7:
My pregnant neighbour has been so restless and sick having discovered she's carry twin

This neighbour of mine is pregnant with 6 other kids. She has been finding it difficult to feed her family including her 6 children. Her husband is an electrician and plumber but he hasn't been getting job inorder to take care of his family. The children had been out of school for several years

I live with my aunt who's a widow. I saw my aunt stressed out yesterday and worried and i was wondering what could be the problem. She was the one who told me about the woman predicament. My aunt has emptied her little foodstuffs because of this woman and her children. My aunt is just a poor widow who's managing herself and kids but she can't stand the sight of this woman and her children hungry.

My aunt told me the woman's friend advice her to inject the pregnancy through abortion. She's six months gone and according to those her friends even nine months pregnancy can be aborted provided she has the money and her state of mind is willing to not forceful

According to her friends, they felt that's the best decision she could consider due to her condition. She cannot even feed the ones on ground, they are not going to school and she's still carry twin right in her womb. She hasn't gotten any baby things. It was my aunt that took her for antenatal when the pregnancy was in 4 months stage. She has been so confused on what to do. My aunt wasn't in support of it though, same time she doesn't have money to support her and her children.

Nigeria isn't saner climes where government support the less privileges. She will be having 8 children in total if she chose not to abort it. What will become the fate of these innocent children? How will she survive with these children in Nigeria? She fainted yesterday and was rushed to the hospital. It was confirmed that she has been thinking so much and she doesn't eat well. This has affected her health conditions.

Her family and that of the husband had been so helpful according to her and it has really taken a toll on them. She even lost one of her uncle who has been supportive. This woman is sad, she's broken and shattered into pieces. I'm even scared of her life because she's not getting good medical attention for her condition. She doesn't eat well for herself and the foetus. I'm even bothered about her life, I sincerely hope all what she's going through wouldn't tell on her on the day of delivery.

Please what's your advice for this woman and her family

Location of this family?

My Elders in canada, I greet ooo. I have a question. I increased my ita score claiming unaccompanied spouse. My score was low at the time. Now I've gotten ppr. If I land in Canada let say June 2022, how soon can I file application for spousal sponsorship. Or is it mandatory for me to wait for a full year by filing tax return before I can proceed. Please everyone with experience should help me.

What reason did you give in your application for your spouse not coming along? Why you have now changed your mind should be consistent with that reason and may determine how early you can apply. The reason needs to make sense.

Proof of Income is not required to sponsor spouse, but helpful if you already have a job.

If you land in June, you don't need to wait a full year.

That those houses/websites exists doesn't make it legal. Before you dispute his claim, you can do a simple search on the internet.

Find screenshots below of relevant portions of the law

Thank you jare.

People like to make categorical statements without doing proper research.

The very funny position of the law remains you can sell prostitution, but nobody should buy it!

In Canada, it is legal for sex workers to sell sex. However it is ILLEGAL to pay for sex and carries a maximum penalty of 5years if caught. If the sex worker is below 18years, penalty increases to a maximum of 10years.

Meanwhile, say bye bye to citizenship. So is it worth it?

Your comment made me laugh..."she's not disabled". The wheelchair would take care of your concerns as duly stated. Safe journey to Mommy.

The issue is wheelchairs have a negative connotation in Nigeria, and telling Mama to sit on wheelchair may not be that easy. I am in the same shoes at the moment.

I am starting this thread to document my Uber/Lyft driving experiment in Ontario, Canada. I will be looking to see how much of my target I can achieve and whether or not this is a viable income option for immigrants whilst preparing to enter their career of choice.

Vehicle choice - Honda Civic
Experiment Duration - December 1 - 31
Target earnings - $6000

Moderator - Please do not move this thread to front page until the experiment is concluded to avoid the thread being derailed.
