You want to be in her shoes right now. So many thoughts be running through her head. She'll touch her skin like, so this skin will soon be buried... Different thoughts.. Its a lesson for all. Funny enough she might not be a temperamental person sef. Maybe just that day, she wanted to show that she wasnt too soft because others were watching and cheering on. Its a pity.

Really sad. Look how they are carrying her like a sack of meat and how people are been so cavalier about the imminent death of a sentient being...She is indeed also a human being. May the almighty give her peace.
I definitely for one, do not believe in the death penalty.
Although the article did not give full clear details of the altercation, so it may be possible that the act was in self defense. A life imprisonment, or 20 to 30 years in prison would have been some form of justice.
Naija hard.

byrron hi,
first thanks for the input.
Listen friend, my method of research is pretty extensive because I want it to hold to any scrutiny. so i goggle, bing, wiki, yahoo, library of congress, encyclopedia, US patent and trademark office (which has a fully searchable online database for all patents as well as all current applications) etc then crosscheck and then challenge before I put it down in print. The point you should understand is, this is meant to be a positive/ uplifting exercise not one from a negative angle. The reason i used the provocative language (inferior) in the initial thread was becos i wanted to elicit straightforward responses and commentary. I apologize and will edit again. Also never said nigerians dont manufacture anything. There are soap, slippers, clothes, plastic bags etc manufacturers that we already know about. We were more concerned with technology manufacturers TODAY.
Would have liked to stick to the main topic so we dont go down a rabbit hole but George Alcorn was born in 1940 but xray electroscopy was developed in 1915. he was a physicist tho. Trust my research.
Anyway thanks.
I probably should move on

hello lade200,
you are right about one thing. Nigeria or subsaharan countries dont seem to know how to create / enable the right type of environment
White people are not even considered in this discussion. (they may be a bit too far gone right now.) We should think, Indian, chinese, etc. for now.
Nigcomsat 1 was built by the china academy of space technology (it lost power in 2008) Nigcom sat1R the replacement was also built by them although thank God, at no cost to us. The other 2 satellites were built by sstl in England. Twenty-six Nigerian engineers attended a training program over an eighteen-month period at the satellite developer’s offices in the United Kingdom though.
hope I dont hurt ur feelings on this one but a simple cursory due diligence on philip emegwali would reveal vast level of untruths - to put it mildly- and self promotion. i dont know much yet about awojobi.
thanks anyway. you helped.
maybe one day, someone will provide a straight forward answer

Anti-scam hello,
I probably need to do some further editing on my post.

What happened a few thousand years ago is not really where we want to explore at this time. trust me, we will just keep going around in circles.
(Tell a present day egytian that his ancestors were black and listen to his response.)

The question is this.  Do we have any PRESENT DAY nigerian technology / ground up manufacturing company? If not, why not?
I am refusing to accept that a nation as vast as this one  with major natural resources, great weather, massive population and super rich
sharp as a razor individuals  doesnt have even one!!
What's missing?

I hope the next reply from someone else  offers up a name/ company we can follow up on.

Thanks so much for the reply.
I wont give up quite yet.
Business / Re: Can The Black Man Manufacture Anything? I Am Beginning To Wonder by mordz: 4:06am On Jan 12, 2012
okeyxyz thanxx a million for the comments.

Yes I am looking for hardcore manufacturing. The transfer from raw materials to finished goods.
Actually we are not even searching for inventors or patent holders of any technology. Thats a black hole i dont want to go down.
We are searching for nigerian technology companies in existence today that can manufacture from the ground up.

You see I believe that technology is a key governing force in society / culture. Technological development determines social change . It changes the way people think and how they interact with others and can be described as ', a three-word logical proposition: "Technology determines history". Social progress is driven by technological innovation, which in turn follows an "inevitable" course. Social problems can be solved by technological advancement, and this is the way that society moves upward and onward. Good examples are China and India. They focused like a laser beam on technology and manufacturing. Look where they are today.

Agreed on all the points regarding racism but, I cant believe that there are no such manufacturers in a nation of 165 million. Some of the sharpest people I have come across happen to be Nigerians so it probably cant be brain inferiority. something seems to be missing. we have to decode
this puzzle. I must keep searching.

Funny this whole consuming journey for me started as a discussion on if Nigeria should also try to harness the power of the atom and get nuclear power to help with our electricity issues. (in one 9 room apartment in benin there are 9 generators going face to face. that cant be healthy for the inhabitants) cry

Thanks once again. u helped me.

Fhemmmy i checked on that too. igbo made actually means counterfeit low quality goods imported into naija and made in china. When next someone tells you an item is igbo made, look at the back
of the item and you will see where its actually Made.

chrishenzo hi.
I wasnt talking white people or about making slippers and handbag and wine etc, (its The machinery used to make those items).

maybe there are no easy answers to this issue thats why I cant get a straight forward answer from anyone.
the Chinese were enslaved by the Japanese, india was colonized by Britian also.
Today, china is set to overtake U.S in development and India has a man in space and some of the largest software firms on earth etc.
I believe they achieved this thru manufacturing and sciences. Only by developing our manufacturing base and concentrating on that issue will we be able to take a place in the modern world and get TRUE respect and pride. We are a nation of 165 million people. If you can, try to visit South Korea, Taiwan, hong kong, argentina, theres no good reason why we cant vault over these places
thanks anyway for the comment

to anti scam. Yes I did that research too.
Dangote uses CATERPILLAR trucks to dig the calcium sand and clay, then uses the MITSUBISHI crusher to crush to little pieces then blended with MAHINDRA HEAVY INDUSTRYS blenders which then go into a sintering furnace made in USA by CENTORR Vacuum furnaces.
(This is not what I am inquiring about). Its quite easy to put items together if you have the money to buy the equipments. I was talking about
the actual ground up manufacture of complex electrical parts, equipment and machinery (like the cat trucks, mahindra crushers, centorr vacumms, mitubishi blenders etc). This is a very very serious quest for me. i cant seem to rest till I find some good answers.

I have been researching and researching and researching. I cant seem to find any company in the world that is owned by a Nigerian or a black person for that matter, that actually manufactures anything (computers, microchips, cellphones, generators, tvs, keyboards, lightbulbs, solar wafers, bicycle, cars etc, even childrens toys) Please please please. I take God beg every one, can you point me to a company that you know of. Every company i have come across that claims a technology title with a black owner always seems to be putting pieces together manufactured by another people mostly korean, chinese or european. Please help me if you guys can.
Politics / Foreigners Are Most Probably Orchestrating The Bombings In Nigeria by mordz: 4:30am On Jan 08, 2012
I have spent 24 years trying to  decode the foreign major powers that meddle in other peoples affairs.
like U.S., Britain, Israel & Saudi Arabia. Nigeria might be in big trouble if our leaders dont smarten up quick.
My guess is, look to whomever is asked to come into Nigeria to access the security situation. Follow the money and we will soon
figure out who is orchestrating these bombings.

I was kind of a bad kid, so I deserved every bit of punishment / marks on my body. I kind of believe in discipline though. Maybe not whipping because some teachers were natural sadists and tended to go too far. Fair punishments to me are kneeling down, hands up, cutting grass, cleaning toilets etc. Also any teacher who beats my kids, dies. sorry.

TV/Movies / Re: Why Can't We Make A Classic Epic Nigerian Movie? by mordz: 6:35pm On Mar 31, 2008
homeboys, My point about going to the moon was the technological feat itself not the journey. my other point about nepa was if we had our own technology, we(obasanjo) probably wouldnt have blown 16 billion dollars with some Italian and chinese firms who sold us electricity generating machinery they know we cant operate. It always amuses me as to how people get wrapped up in certain things like sports and movies. I thank God that it employs people but It could employ a heck of a lot more people and pay much better. We probably will not be able to make an epic movie without that technological know how I am talking about. You need the know how to operate those $100,000 high tech cameras, boom, lighting, sound, special effects etc etc. My nigas look, we all like nija movies and want the best for our country and our people.
I have researched and researched and researched and I cant find anything made in Nigeria. All I find is parts imported from china and put together in naija. You would be helping me much if you could point me to a nigerian owned company that manufactures especially consumer electronics. I have business I would really like to steer that way. I am tired of making the koreans rich. I will probably start a thread on that issue. I really want to find out more info.
TV/Movies / Re: Why Can't We Make A Classic Epic Nigerian Movie? by mordz: 9:55pm On Mar 30, 2008
I dont personally like those kinds of industries with little or no real value (eg sports, acting, music etc. ) I think we nigeria, should concentrate on the hard sciences and technology. We have a zero manufacturing base. We cant even make bicycle. India is getting ready to launch a moon expedition. Look at the success of china, taiwan, hong kong, india, singapore, south korea etc. They concentrate on manufacturing and the sciences. Every thing else will come after you have solved your real problems. I am 40 years old and there has not been a day in benin that nepa has not taken light in 40 years. What a shame.! we cant even feed our selves and we are talking about acting / actors.
