Expect UK Visa processing delays in Q1 2024
The processing times for UK visas have markedly increased following comprehensive changes to UK immigration policies announced in late 2023. We anticipate these delays to persist throughout the first quarter of 2024, and our rationale is outlined in this article.31 Jan 2024.......

Will we have to keep our POF running till visa gets issued?

If you didn't receive a mail informing you that your application could not be decided within the stipulated time, you will surely get a decision today or tomorrow or, latest, Friday.

Good afternoon mates. Can a two-year visa be issued to a conference attendee after the expiration of his earlier six-month visa? I know that they don't grant more than six months to medical visitor at any time but I am not sure of conference attendees. Please advise asap.

They have singled out one or two of your documents needing thorough verification. Verifications are often done within their office. But situations sometimes arise when they need to be done contacting Nigerian issuers (or purported issuers) of such documents. In such cases, UKVI will write to prepare the mind of the concerned applicant for a possible delay, though the 'thorough' verification might not be long after all. One important thing: falsifications discovered through the check within their office do not often lead to a ban, but the ones discovered through the Nigeria sources or purpored sources do. However, if the concerned applicant is 'clean' there is no doubt that the visa will be approved after the checks.

Hi everyone, I applied for family vacation to UK scheduled for December 2 weeks trip and went for Biometric on Wednesday, I received this message in my mail this evening and same for other members of my home, what could possible outcome? Message below:

Thank you for your visa/entry clearance application which has been received and is under consideration. We aim to process non settlement applications within 15 working days and settlement applications within 60 working days (unless you have opted for a Priority Visa service).

We are unable to resolve your application within these customer service targets, due to operational restrictions. Please be assured that we will continue to progress your application to enable a decision to be made as soon as possible.

Please do not attend the application centre until you have been contacted by the VAC.

Hello...
Please I need a clarification.
I did my biometrics on the 6th of October. My application was transferred to and received by VAC today. Also, I received a collection mail a few hours ago, but no email yet indicating that my visa has been granted. Is the collection mail an indication of a visa grant?

In that case, congrats! Your application is successful. Was it priority service?

Hello house! Permit me to share a rather expensive joke from UKVI for whosoever cares to read. One of my guys did her biometric on 15th September for PRIORITY visitir visa. But after 13 WORKING days the tracking still says "application received by DMC!" However, on Wednesday 4th September, my guy received the first mail from UKVI informing her of the arrival of her application! After 19 days! Haba! What about the tracking that has been saying that the application has been received by them since 18th September? Has VAC just forwarded the application to them or is it a joke? Anyone with similar experience?

Mine was 10th. Below is their reply when I contacted them via email this week:

Dear------,

Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre.

With regards to your enquiry about the status of your application, I can confirm that your application is being considered and is currently awaiting a decision. We understand how frustrating these delays are and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Standard UK visitor visas are currently taking longer than usual to be processed due to high global demand. You should bear this in mind when making travel arrangements. UKVI are working hard to process applications as soon as possible. We thank you for your patience.

You will be contacted by the Visa Application Centre (VAC) when your passport is ready for collection. Do not attend the VAC until you have been invited to do so.

You are not required to book any travel before you apply or before a decision is made on your application. You’ll only be refunded if we have not started processing your application.

We strongly recommend that you do not buy a non-refundable, non-flexible ticket to the UK, until your visa application has been approved and you have received your documents.
Regards,

my mum had her bio on the 11th of July, visit standard visa , nothing yet as well

Then wait until you receive a collection mail. Definitely you were not refused. The two posibilities are: you are granted, in what I will call one of the greatest miracles since the UK began to use VAC. Or your application was returned. I have seen a case of returned application before. Fingers crossed. Pls get back here when you receive the decision.

Biometrics 7th of June standard visitor family of 4

Decision was made on the 22nd of June but was emailed some minutes ago ( refused ) based on financial grounds even though there were a lot of evidence provided but oops if they want to refuse you they will find a reason to.
The application was for my aunt and her kids in which I invited them.
Home office and their palava.
Good luck to everyone.
Three people did.
One was priority service and the other two wasn’t
Ikeja TLS and Abuja TLS.
I think their biometrics was done around first week in June.
If you check previous post from last week you will see their visa alert/ refusal timeline.

When did you do your biometrics ?
Mine was on the 7th ikeja.
And the email I received on the 11th

Has anyone who did biometrics this month or earlier eventually got a decision?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by mosesadio: 2:06pm On Jun 23, 2023
There are lots of loopholes in the mail sent to you, one of them being a terrible chain of grammatical errors coupled with badly constructed lines. This couldn't be official. It must have been sent by a scammer or an African or Asian junior staff who understands the "japa system" and really wanted to play a prank on you. Trust me, there is no law against canceling one hotel booking.

Definitely generic I won’t let it bother me as 2 different emails received almost the same time.
They now have some bunch of jokers at the DMC in Croydon, you will be surprised that they don’t even read most of the cover letters or pay attention to your applications, you see some of their refusal letters not constructed well I no no if na A levels students they recruited to email you it is when they make a big error and you fire them an email back they run to the case worker and you get a reply on time.
The DMC in Liverpool are better I saw timeline of those who submitted their biometrics around end of May and they got their pick up email this week ending although they are in ASIAN countries ( people from the current PM place) na dem dey rule now.
For everyone waiting hang in there to be honest PRAYER is the key regardless on how perfect your application or cover letter is you can still be pushed out of the window.
Good luck everyone.

Do you know what it means to overstay one's visa. This guy didn't overstay his visa for your information, and he doesn't have any explanation to make. The US and UK, unlike the Schengen, issue long visa for first time visitors in appreciation of possible change in circumstances on arrival in the country. Any visitor has a maximum of 6 month for both UK and US. End of.

Gentlemen and ladies in the house, I did biometrics on Friday 5th of May at Ikeja for standard visitor. But up till now (8 days) I have not received an email acknowledging receipt of my application from UKVI, though the TLS tracking shows that it has been received by DMI. Anyone in a similar situation? Possible reason for this? Cheers!
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by mosesadio: 9:46pm On Apr 28, 2023
It means your documents, especially, the bank account statements, needs thorough and direct verification with your bank. This situation sometimes occurs if one has been refused before based on bank account statements. They really need to establish the fact, this time around, beyond the basis of probability, before imposing a ban. If there is no problem with any of your documents, congratulations in advance! If there is, I advise you to cancel your application immediately and forfeit the application fee.
Dear all,

Just found this group last night after combing the internet for resources to help me.

My mum’s visit visa was rejected for the third time yesterday. I have attached the refusal screenshot.

She’s a civil servant with a salary of 101k but the amount payable monthly after all deductions (pension, taxes and car loan) is 38k. She also has a side business that bring funds. We stated all this in the cover letter. The trip is to be sponsored by my elder brother who reside in Scotland.

We attached car doc, house doc, letter of leave approval from her ministry. I attached my wife’s MAT B1 and our current rental agreement. We also included the picture of her business and other relevant doc.

She was first refused in November 2022. We applied again in February using priority, but she was refused due to mistake we made in the amount she’s to spent in UK.

However, when we got the mail yesterday, it was refusal. She was also refused. Now I am confused

What’s the chances of her getting it again if we apply as she hasn’t visited any other countries before. We want her to help with the childbirth and all but seem time is running out now.

When did she do the biometric?
