Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mpres: 12:42pm On Dec 09, 2019
Good morning everyone.
I have a little concern and Ild appreciate a response from those who are more experienced

I am applying for a tier2 work visa and taking my husband and kids as dependants. My husband will travel with us and stay just 3days in the UK with us because he is still working (good job) in Nigeria

My job is demanding and I need assistance with my kids for at least the first 2-3weeks till I get some professional help.
Until then,I would like to apply for my Mom to visit ASAP

My question is..
Can my husband be her sponsor?
what will be her reason for visit ?
What do we write in her cover letter that can help?
When is the best time to apply? I’m starting work in January
At what point do I come-in in her application.

Pls help me. I need answers sad child care in UK is no joke

I quite know how u feel cos it happened to my wife but my candid advice is for you to go back to your drawing board and restrategise for your next pregnancy, I notice that we started late and it really affected my wife and I don't want such to happen again so immediately God stumps it for you, start preparing from that day one. With this, you would not be put in a tight corner in case unexpected happens. Eg my wife told me she was pregnant and immediately I contacted Dr and was given appointment, I was about booking visa appointment when she opened up to me that she was only joking so plan well on your next pregnancy. Please if your mind still furge ahead, Jesus will back u up and let His favour shine on you. Just my own 2 kobo

Thank you Sir. I really appreciate all the advice and support.

Hi dear. So sorry to hear this. You can apply again. This time around, try not to give one line answers to their questions. The main thing this visa officers want to know is if you can afford your trip and if you have ties (economic and social) back in nigeria that will bring you back home. Most of their questions will be centered on this. Try to answer this questions without them asking if u know what i mean (u can check my interview post) e.g visa officer: what r u going to do in the US?
You: im on maternity leave so i intend to travel during this period to give birth"
With this eg you have been able to kill two birds with one stone. You have answered his question no doubt but u have also answered another question of his that he is yet to ask because you mentioned "maternity leave" everyone knows its only people that are workng that are entitled to that. So you have answered the yet to be asked question on economic ties.
Most times they dont ask for documents, so you only have ur words to convince them. Above all, you need to pray. Tell the Holy Spirit to take control.
Wow! Long epistle. Pardon any typographical errors. Hope you understnd wat im trying to say shaa. If u dont u can send a dm

Thank you so much. I’ve noted all the points. If I can get a date between now and September I’ll try again. If not, I’ll leave it till the next pregnancy.

Then I was given the pink paper.
I don’t know where I went wrong. Was very prepared with all my documents as I’ve read this thread thoroughly from page 1.

My husband went for his interview too and he got a visa.

I do not see any reason for the two of you applying separately. It raises more questions than it addresses. We're also about honesty here and have seen people who have had previous refusals being granted visas once all requirements have been met. Plan well get all your required documents and you and your husband will be fine.
Thank you

Kindly help if your can.

My sis is trying to apply for b2 visa for childbirth in the US while her husband will apply for b1/b2 to join her after baby is born before they will all come back together. Her husband is sponsoring the trip and she is a stay at home wife, this is their first.

Now the question

Are they supposed to be interviewed together or will they book for interview separately ?

Thank u
Was reading through and I’m in a similar situation. Did they go together for the interview or separately.

You even stand a better chance if you apply together, because he's been to the us before and you haven't,so his travel history covers you. And moreover, you have already secured a date together, why go through the stress of changing it.
Best of luck.
Thank you. We secured same date but he said we shouldn’t be interviewed as a couple. He feels like its better since we were rejected last time we were interviewed together. I’m so unsure of what to do.

Good morning house, my interview is in Abuja next Monday and I'm so nervous. I have been rejected once in 2016 when I applied for a regular tourist visa with hubby.
My main concern now is, I and hubby were able to get an appointment date together on same day. But he is suggesting we go separately to be interviewed as we went together last time and we were rejected.
I'm a little skeptical about it.
He has been to the US twice in the past, I haven't. He is also my sponsor for the trip.
How do I answer questions like "does your husband have a valid US visa?" And " will he be traveling with you?"
I'm just confused and don't want to say anything that'll make my story seem fabricated.
NB- We just got back from a 2week vacation to the UK last week.
I NEED MORE ADVICE FROM YOU GUYS .
thank you.

You see. There is one secret code I know that works and a very experienced former US consular on Quora, Kathryn Berck confirmed it once. The more documents you carry, the less your chances of being legit. You are working, how frequently you work is to bring in complexities. No need to carry employment statement. Go with your bank statement, however, the more important bank statement is that of the sponsor, which in this case can be you or your DH.
Thank you so much. I’ve been offline for a few days. I’ve booked my interview in Abuja for August. I’ll just say I’m working at *** (which indeed I am but only on some days) And hope I don’t get asked too many questions.

Congratulations and happy delivery in advance. I recommend you apply with your daughter and husband. You will need to present yourself and your husband in a way to reflect you are active and doing well in Nigeria and will 100% return. You need to find a way to distract attention from your case, otherwise it will count against you. A medical doctor, not working for 2 years, US, Trump, Canadian Embassy's complaints on influx of Nigerians seeking asylum status, etc may raise more questions than answers. Are you completely out of work and business or you are doing something by the side while you take two years off work? Are you still doing private practice? You might think of a way to present it without telling lies. You do not have time. Earliest interview date is already September 25. Please act immediately if this is something you want to pursue. Make your home ties VERY strong. 11 weeks is not too much normally but you do not have to state 11 weeks in my opinion. That is not the business of the VO. Most likely, the CBP will still give you 6 months.
Thank you so much for your quick response. I do private practice but I work random days a week (only the days I choose to)and my money is usually given to me cash or Cheque. I’m worried I’ll be asked for employment letter, and bank statement if I say Im working.Because there is no consistent salary except what my husband pays me every month.
I want to book today.
Pls I need more advice, my people. Time is not on my side as you rightfully said.

My situation

I'm.a doctor but stopped working in January cos I am dedicating 2years to raise my children. I already have a daughter who is 1year old.

My question.

1.Do I apply with my husband or my daughter. , or all of us together ,or I apply alone
2. Is it a problem that I'm not working now?
3. Is 11weeks too much to put as my duration of stay I'll be staying at my mother in-law's house.

Based on what @ekpotek mentioned about the cash my father sent being treated as money lodgement,I can print my account statement to end on 3rd March as the money was paid on 4th March. So it won’t reflect on the statement. ?? I’ll be submitting my application in 2days.
Please house, I need more input from you guys. Help a sister.

You do not need to complicate issue. I am sure the ECO will not be bothered about your dad letter as you are an adult. If I were you, I will not have permitted this payment as it is uncessary and can cast doubt on the ability of your husband to sponsor your trip adequately in the eye of the ECO. The ECO will definitely treat this extra cash as fund lodgement in spite of your dad letter. Beside are you traveling with your baby? If not, you will need to include in your cover letter, any arrangement for the baby care in your absent.
Wow, I’m even more worried now.
I’m not traveling with my baby. I’ll be sure to include plans to care for her while I’m away. Thank you and I hope the money from
My dad won’t be my downfall.

Your expenses is okay. You should be more worried about explaining to ECO why you are unemployed, why should your father be your sponsor, when your husband can easily sponsor you.
My husband is my sponsor. But I had a cash gift from my father and it reflects in my account. He stated in a letter that he is not my sponsor for the trip however he has given me some money in the unlikely case of any extra expenses to support me.
I explained in my cover letter I stopped working shortly before delivery of my baby to be able to care for her and myself properly. I attached my previous employment letter.
Is this enough? I’m so worried mehn.

If its for US visa, you didn't need statement of account.. If its another country. U can't just deposit money and print the statement of account. It will show on the history of the account.. If its that run the account for good 6 months

Thank you for your response sir,
But I am unemployed and my husband is my sponsor. It’s for a UK visa to write an exam. Do I transfer the funds he is giving me for He trip from my husbands account to mine and account for it or leave it there and use his statement and details.

Hello house, I am new here to naira land. This is my first comment. I have read most of the comments here and I must say I am very impressed with what you guys are doing.
I also need some help.
I am applying for uk visa to take plab 2 exam. I am currently unemployed as i stopped work 6months ago to care for my baby.
My father has given me a cash gift of 2000£ to support me. Making my account balance 2400£
However, he is not my sponsor. My sponsor is my husband. He has 600£ monthly earnings with 10,000£ in savings. These are my details

Trip duration - 5days
Hostel accommodation- 115£
Living cost - 200£
Air ticket - 800£
Total cost of trip- 1115£
My balance (2000£ transferred to me from dad)- 2400£
Husbands balance - 10,000£

Is this ideal? Is there anything I must add to strengthen my application?
I have been rejected Uk visit visa once in the past for lack of finances. Please any advice will be really appreciated.
