Islam for Muslims / Re: The Man Who Stole Some Flour And Lessons From The Quran by MRAbudant(m): 8:49pm On Oct 31, 2014
This is a very insightful post, May almighty God bless you in copiousness as you brought this rational and perceptive piece of writing to our notice,I wish a lot of our leaders followed these well-laid-out and well-wrought steps, the society would be much better for it.
Phones / Re: Tecno Seems To Be The Best Among China Phones, Out Reasons by MRAbudant(m): 10:37pm On Oct 24, 2014
Tecno can still be considered the best among chinese mobile companies, because, he pioneered the andriod into African markets especially Nigeria, and opened a lot of people's eyes to the usefulness of andriod by selling its product at affordable prices which made both the rich and the poor have access to the enthralling experience of andriod.

1st of all, its was a humble correction from me to the op.
It is very funny how these secondary school pupil tries to proof they are wise, and all they end up doing is a display of outright foolishness.
(learners)
When I earlier said"I stand to be wisely corrected". I didn't expect to see this monkwaitical display of foolishness. Well, its a forum afterall, where the foolish ones are also allowed a chance to show just how stupid they are, so people can truly know that common sense is not common.
U can't just open a dico n hope to suddenly know the rudiments of english, so you can proof others wrong when infact you have no concept of the subject matter, its something that must have been cultivated right from childhood.
Pls, I STAND TO BE WISELY CORRECTED...NO MORE SHOW OF FOOLISHNESS!

Utilizing wrong and non-existent wording in order to be considered learned is pure evidence of abuse of grammar, and the handiwork of obtuse beings.

You claim to know the basics of english, yet, your post is highly awash with heart-rending, mammoth, and obnoxious bloopers.

your repugnant situation is a case of an uncultivated creature, trying too hard to keep up with the joneses, and saw internet as the only hope to redeem himself.

wink;;;''''.

The use of I now especially with past tense is wrong. []Then should be appropriate or you can omit it i.e I went to absu cafe to eat rice and moimoi but they only had salad, so, I decided to eat rice and salad.

Your post makes sense, because, it somehow imparts a good meaning, bt it has a wrong heading.

By the way it looks like I am the first to comment.

SIr OP.
With all humility, I don't quite understand why you started this thread sef!

You said and I quote "immediately,I felt the
"spirit of bad English' in what he said above". If your main reason was to question why most Nigerian students hardly speak correct english, then you sure have a big problem with presentation which equally portray your poor english language skills.

If you don't mind sir, I will gladly support my arguments with a few salient points.

1. There is NOTHING like GOOD or BAD English like you said in the parted I quoted earlier.
Its either its CORRECT or INCORRECT English.

2. English has NO spirit hence, bad english spirit can not be in a statment. 'also quoting from your statement'. Am sure u just wanted to say u weren't too sure if that clause was ok for the intended purpose in which it was used.

3. Seeing all the flaws in your write up and studying various poorly placed patterns in your writing skills, I SAY WITH ALL HUMILITY...you DO NOT have the intellectual capacity to dabble into a topic such as this which tries to invalidate the proficiency of somone's use of a language such as the western english.

I rest my case.
but knowing that there is not one who is perfect...I STAND TO BE "WISELY" CORRECTED.
your errors are much worse than the poster's own, because of your ignorance.
The poster did try to create awareness about the wrong use of english language with sincere intentions bt u took hold of the situation by disseminating misconceptions of grammar.
it might interest you to know that, the use of 'sure' as an adjunct is incorrect.
I am nt sure if u understood the real concept of concord, because, you would have known the right tenses of 'portray' to use if u did.
There is indeed something like good or bad english, jst because u have ineffective knowledge of words and their real meanings, does not delineate that u have to rebuff them.
in the parted I quoted, using a verb or an adjective as a noun is a grave offence, bro.
The last time I checked, there was no word like statment, maybe you meant to type statement
write up is nt an open compound word when it is a noun bt a hyphenated one, write-up.
finally, you should have sticked to the proverb that says: he who has no sin should cast the first stone, instead of being absolutely mean by writing him off with your repellent and detestable post.

your errors are eye-catching, even a toddler won't make such errata.
you should have admitted your mistakes instead of being pugnacious, I promise u that it won't have come to this.

After 'have verbs' the next verb must be in past participle i.e sat, thought, eaten etc, nobody is perfect or an island of knowledge, imperfection is one of the undying and time-honoured traits of man, don't mind the critics they are always contemptible.
Concerning your observation, I also had thesame thought, bt I didn't give voice to it because I was too occupied.
The word 'Like' has a lot of informal and nonstandard uses, and its uses as an adverb are considered wrong, so, I was like is wrong and shld be avoided.
I was like ok, I was like let me go, when he shouted at me, I was like 'what is he saying'. etc shld all be avoided
The right substitute for it is: my thought were, I said or I thought for example, when he shouted at me, my thoughts were, 'what is he saying?' or 'so, I decided to' call your younger brother to confirm in the poster's post.

@poster u also made some grammatical blunders undecided.which is worse than I was like. I was like, okay is an informal statement which is quite appropriate in as much as you don't get so used to it and use it in a formal environment,i.e while addressing a group of learned people or writing an essay.
Your post contains a lot of errors which show you have a poor command of accurate English.
I was like ok is very wrong in any social setting, and it is very grievous that a lot of people use it to express themselves, ranging frm the US to some nigerians.

and you started a paragraph with because?
What about yours? You started it with 'and' which is considered wrong by some grammarians.
There is nothing wrong in starting a paragraph with 'because', stop propagating false rules of Grammar.

What's there to explain?

"I was like, Ok" Is a grammatically correct sentence or statement or phrase or clause, but not a formal speech as in; you can't address a large crowd or the president or your VC with it because it's informal but grammatically correct! gerrit?

You just contradicted yourself in a bid to defend what is obviously wrong. I would advise you to use english the way it is taught than imagined.
Romance / Re: Some Very Silly Things Girls Should Stop Doing by MRAbudant(m): 11:04pm On Sep 03, 2014
She rose so many reasonable points in this post, i thought all girls had the perceptible qualities of fish, bt this post proved otherwise, and exempted a few. Her write-up instils the hope that despite the high profundity of a lot of girls' unthinkingness and short-sightedness, there are still some endowed with a fair amount of acumen and ethics.

cliffm43: SEE THE BOKO HARAM SPONSORS ARE OUT TO SAY SOMETHING..........LOL........MR PRESIDENT,I HAVE SAID IT BEFORE,JUST RELEASE THE BIAFRA WHICH YOU BELONG AND ALLOW THOSE BLOOD SUCKING DEMONS TO GO WITH THEIR BOKO HARAM...........ALL THE EMIRS AND GOVERNORS IN THE NORTH ARE THE MAJOR SPONSORS OF BOKO HARAM
it beats me hollow to see some individuals commenting out of immense and elephantine dementia, in a bid to announce their doomed existence to the world.
at the bolded, it is very clear that u posted what u were being fed by irreligious bigots who chose to religiously tribalise the challanges of the north to promote and encourange their religion interests so that people wld troop to their churches. Secondly, it might interest you to know that jonathan comes from bayelsa and bayelsa in turn belongs to south south(ss), if you think the south south wld join the south east to secede you must be in a deep reverie, it is high time you woke up to the fact that the vast and ginormous natural resources belong to Nigeria until statutory rights other otherwise that wld never be in favour of south east because. We, south south are also a people.
Politics / Re: Delusional Shekau Refers To Adams Oshiomole As Governor Of Lagos In New Video by MRAbudant(m): 9:11am On Aug 02, 2014
Aksonman:

Whenever the Sultan of Sokoto who is leader of all muslims in Nigeria proclaims or declares a FATWAH on all Boko Haram members, then we'll know that Northern Nigerian muslims are serious in fighting Boko Haram.
THE SULTAN OF SOKOTO, IN THE PERSON OF ALHAJI SA'AD ABUKAKAR (III) has been persistently and insistently condemning and denouncing the actions and work of boko haram since they began their full scale operation which made their activities known to the nation, that anybody that engages in suicidal, homicidal or murderous acts or any activity that is inimically detrimental to any being is nt a muslim and such person wld perish in hell as his abode several times without number, as i can recall, in 2013, he said that, 'We hereby call on the Muslims not to allow themselves to be used by our enemies in achieving their desired goals. We should not allow them to cause us to commit acts prohibited by our religion. We, therefore, call upon all those involved in this nefarious act, to fear God and desist from committing this grievous act.' he also recently said that, 'life is sacred, thus anybody who bombs himself thinking he will go to
heaven is immensely delusional,
"which also goes to rebut and repudiate the gravely, highly false and insane assumption that who kills anybody wld receive virgins in heaven" adding that, For us, one single life lost means a lot to us because life is sacred.
You cannot love God if you do not love your neighbour, Don’t call Boko Haram ‘Islamic militants’, A criminal is
a criminal, Do not link him with his 'religion'
.'
Insisting that, unhealthy rivalry among security
agencies is also another major setback towards
tackling the situation(bokoharam's mayhem)
, When we politicise the security issue, there
can never be a solution to it. We should not narrow it
down to an ethnic or religious thing. Let us stop
pointing accusing fingers and viewing terrorism as a northen issue.' with this judicious and sapient quotations from the sultan of Sokoto, it is very limpidly and obviously clear that boko haram is a political product created by some ungodly and irreligious individuals to traduce and abuse the godly religion of God, hence, causing upheaval, adversity and turmoil in the nation and also to achieve their political and iniquitious interests and aims, with all that said, i leave discerning and rational nigerians to arrive at good judgement about the whole boko haram's events and motives, shalom aleichem.
Politics / Re: Delusional Shekau Refers To Adams Oshiomole As Governor Of Lagos In New Video by MRAbudant(m): 5:56pm On Jul 26, 2014
This video is a perfect proof that shekau is a misguided and schizophrenia patient, who conceals his intent under the guise of a muslim to perpetrate evil and vile deeds, in other for some illogical individuals to cast aspersions on the moral and virtuous characters of muslims, forgetting that boko haram is a product of political creation with the objectives to claim political power and some other malicious and iniquitous interest, although, romour has it that most of its sponsors are from the north bt that preconception is nt concretely valid enough to narrow it into ethno-religious concept by stupidly and ineptly saying that boko harams are muslim, as a people co-existence and good interaction are very instrumental in a trouble-free and successful society.
