Religion / The Fruit Of The Tree Of Knowledge Of Good And Evil; Was It Really An Apple? by MrAladin: 8:42am On Jul 17, 2016
The book of Genesis never identified the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.(Genesis 2:17) as an apple.

The popular notion that the fruit was an apple is a result of the Latin translation of the bible in Vulgate.

The Latin word for "evil" is malus and the word for "apple" is malum; "apple tree is also malus. The word malum appears in the vulgate translation of genesis In the phrase. the tree of knowledge of good and evil"
All readers began began associating the apple with tree eaten by eve.

Culture / Calabar Vs Yoruba Women Who Is More Beautiful? by MrAladin: 9:46am On Jul 09, 2016
Nigeria is rich in diverse culture and tribes, there are lots of things that are bound to catch your attention in this wonderful country. We would be looking at the ladies you can find in Nigeria.
The Yorubas are an ethnic group found mainly in the Southwestern and North central parts of Nigeria. They are also found in the Southern and Central Benin. Yoruba language is being spoken by people of this ethnic group; there are so many beautiful things about the culture of these people but for the purpose of this comparison, we would be looking at the ladies found in this ethnic group.
Now, no one is talking about those ladies with hideous tribal marks; there are some people who look more beautiful with their tribal marks though, but they would not be our target today. The Calabar ladies on the other hand are women from the Greater Calabar district; Calabar South, Calabar Municipality, Akpabuyo, Bakassi, Biase, Odukpani and Akamkpa. Do not forget Calabar hosts the popular carnival that makes Nigeria filled with people from all walks of life.
Going to the main issue, there have been lots of controversies on which ethnic group has the most beautiful girls. We would be showing you some pictures of girls from both ethnic groups.
Please find them below and tell us which tribe has the most beautiful ladies, remember, they all belong to one Nigeria:

Brymo’s Response To A Fan Asking For School Fees Is Causing A Stir On Twitter
Late yesterday, a fan of Brymo reached out to him via twitter asking for help with his school fees (which isn’t new from fans by the way), and the response he got was definitely not what he was looking for.
As opposed to asking for his account details like many celebrities typically do, Brymo instead advised the fan to drop out of school, stating that school isn’t for everyone, and helped him discover his talents. Good advice? Well, Brymo, who just released his 5th studio album , argued his point with more tweets.
As you can expect this has caused up a big storm on twitter with many questioning the reasoning behind Brymo’s response, and some have even called into question if Brymo should consider himself successful. You already know how Nigerians are, so we’ll just drop some of the tweets here:
But we ask you though. What do you think? Is Brymo’s advice valid?

Politics / The Lamentation Of A Soldier's Wife. by MrAladin: 4:50am On May 17, 2016
THE LAMENTS OF A SOLDIER WIFE. (I was inspired by a lady who lost her husband in Kolofata.)
Excuse me, have you seen my husband? He is a soldier, strong and brave. He has fierce eyes and a bravery of six lions. I hear him calling but I can’t see him.
He told me he will be coming back, he said he will bring me a medal of glory but now I hear a different story. He told me I will hear from him often. But maybe he has forgotten.
He told me he will come for the baby shower, we’ve waited and now the soup is sour.
If this be a dream, wake me up, if this be a piece of theatre, let the act end.
Let the drums end, let the music seize, let this dance end. It’s sickening
The day you left with your comrades, you all were singing victory songs as you sat at the back of the military wagon.
Were you singing victory into your death?
You left me just like your comrades had left other women. Shame on you all.
What wrong did we do? Did we marry heroes or horrors?
Every day I hear the enemy visited and I will ask, what about mine.
God please give me a sign.
Today they told me you were coming home. I bathe the children and we waited. I wanted to hear the same victory songs you went with but instead I heard the siren of death. I saw your comrades all in tears, junior clinched to me in fear when he asked, mummy where is daddy? They showed us a box. What do I tell the children? “Daddy went to fight the dragon and the dragon ate him”.
I refuse to accept this, bring my husband back to me.
Where is my husband, where is my hero. Let him call my name.
Now you put all these medals on him, of what use are medals to a dead man?
Why did I marry a soldier, why did I marry a man who will choose death over me?
Now you’re gone protecting the country, who will protect me?
Shame on you husband of mine. Shame on you father of my children. What did I do wrong that you took me from my father’s house just to leave me alone? Shame on you soldier.
They say you are a hero, no you are a coward. Only a coward will leave his wife and kids to a world of uncertainty.
Wake up from there and tell me how to handle this calamity.
After all these gunshots and decoration, the people will go and I will start facing reality.
The people you went to defend will never pass by again
Why did I marry a soldier?
(Ever since I wrote this, I have not been able to post it because every day I read it I cry. It’s okay if you cry too. I just want you to understand how a woman somewhere feels so that we can together support these women who lost their husband at the war front).
All good soldiers will go to heaven.
