Vincentosa:

What occupation are you assessing with acs? How many years of work experience do you have as at today? What is your points score 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95 or 100?

189 nomination was cool towards the end of last year and sometimes at the first quarter of this year. No one knows what it will become later this year. Because at those times I mentioned, 65 above got nomination on 189. But I must tell you IT occupations are super competitive and very hard to get nomination these days especially for Skill Level 1 IT occupations.
Some people like my self had to go through Trade recognition Australia to assess as ICT Technician nec 313199 even after waiting for 2yrs at 80pts as System analyst (skill level one occupation) between 2021/2023.
But the moment I opt for trade occupation, in just 7days I got nomination from NSW for 190 @ 85 points.

I am not trying to discourage you about 189, but to have plan B should the 189 becomes tough again. You can as well create EOI for all visa subclass one for each for each state.

There are a lot of Indians who has got beautiful IT work experience, studied here, got 90+ points but unfortunately, they are not getting invite on 189 or even 190. Some state are stringent with 190 while others do not. NSW and ACT are liberal with 190, but not SA, WA, and NT as well as QLD.

So, please work around creating EOI for 491 as well. This visa class is not bad. Some people who go about talking down on it simply do not have one.

Note: I am onshore and still studying at a uni.

All the best.

Good advice!! Put in as many EOI's as possible, tho time consuming but still think it is the best thing to do.

Can one assess with TRA using Bachelor's degree? Also, is there any advantage assessing with Engineers Australia over TRA for someone with a Bachelor's degree?

Good advice!!

Congratulations!
Please what was your point score when you submitted your EOI ?
Thank you

Thanks.

For the 491 and 190, I claimed 80 points for the EOI's submitted (all regions), while 189 was 75 points.

Why Townsville?

It's because I plan to pursue an academic program while simultaneously exploring and applying for job opportunities.

Good morning my people, please which type of IELT is required for skilled visa?
Can PTE academics be written in Abuja because I didn’t see any Abuja test center on their website?
Is PTE Academics accepted for both Study and PR ?

If this question has not already been answered, the type of IELTS you write depends on the assessing body for your field, some may request general while others academic.

I believe the most important thing is to know the assessing body for your profession and go with their requirements for PR, for study it is mostly academic, you'l need to check the english requirement of the school you are interested in.

Started job from 04/2018, vetasses approved from 04/2029 to 2021. Still with that job.

Wrote to vetasses and they advised renewal application so the months from 2021 till date will count. I'm about doing that but only hope the ITA which elapses 21st October will still be there when the renewal results show. Unfortunately no priority for vetasses renewal.

Is there something else I can do? Has anyone had this experience before?

Please share or advise.

Hi Chocychoco you may need to start reading from the beginning of this thread to fully comprehend.

Firstly, what did you study? Secondly do you have experience in that line? Check then from the second or third page here if you need skills assessment for your career line, also check the English requirements for your assessments (from my little knowledge you will need ielts for your visa application so might as well start studying for that).

Lastly wish you the best

Chocychoco:
Good day.... I am currently schooling in UK (tier 4) and I don't really like the style and living conditions here and seeking alternatives. I have a wife and 2 kids and we are thinking about relocating to Australia on a study visa since it is the fastest and my visa in UK will end by May 2023.

I want your advice on how raising a family as well as working conditions in Aussie. And will I need to do ielts since I am attaching my masters certificate from UK

You definitely don't need to reassess since you're still in that job.

By the way, there was a DHA ruling a few years back that started allowing applicants to claim work experience points before the deeming date set by Vetasses as long as the work experience was after the qualification that made you eligible. This meant you could start claiming points from 04/2018.

I am not sure if this rule is still in place. Can you please confirm @tunlex01

Really? I'll go search it out. Thank you so much Iceberg

Yes I did, there's a form (if I can recall-Proof of publication/research). You'll be required to fill in all publications.

I don't think you need a renewal if the assessment hasn't expired. If you're still in the same company/job, 04/2019 till date makes it 3 years 4 months on the job.

That's 5 points.

You're good

But wait for ATM's comment.

Thanks Ajayidebo!!

You are good to go! You don’t need any renewal. It’s 5 points for you since you are still in d job.
Proceed to submit your application

Thanks!! I'm going for it!!

My major concern was when the EOI was submitted I had just 1.7 from vetasses.

From the months Vetassess approved till you got ITA, is it 3 years already?

Yes tunlex01 it's up to.

What do you think? The assessment was done 2021.

Been gathering documents (payslips etc) for proof.

Hello House,

I have an ITA for 189 with a 65 score but have a concern.

VETASSES assessment in 2020 was 1.78 and not 3 as claimed. So it's assumed I may lose that 5 points, however I am still in that occupation and have been advised to go ahead with my application but put in supporting documents to show I am still employed there.

Çan anyone please advice?

I put that up there so you can study eligibility criteria as i don’t quite understand if you are employed by the Nigerian govt or the uk govt as you say you have a Cos.Plus you are a little vague on the grant is it to study or for research purposes.I feel if you have a scholarship technically you are a student and not a highly skilled worker(No disrespect to your field).
Do you have a CAS or a COS?.

Thanks again Tutu..

Hello Guru's

I lecture in a public University and have a FG grant for a 10months postdoc in the UK.

Please help confirm the following;

1) My visa type should be a tier2 general?
2) Do I apply for 1 or 2 yrs Visa, if yes is it advisable to pay for a return tickets? Or just one way?
3) What documents do I need from my sponsor?COS only?
4) Is it advisable to apply together with my dependants? Husband and 2 children? Or we put in an application for them after ours?
5) My husband is a Medical Lab Scientist, will he be able to work full-time during our stay? are there any online courses he should take to ease his job search?
6) Is lecturing a good field as a career in the UK? In terms of renumeration and job satisfaction?
6) Na wa....so much questions in my mind...
