Politics / Re: US Professor, Steve Hanke, Reacts To Tinubu's CSU Saga by MrSmith1: 8:04pm On Oct 07, 2023
For sure you don’t forge something. He already said he lost the original. Always approach issuing authority, let them say they don’t reissue then have them provide alternate proof of graduation etc.

It’s this “I’ll do what I want” attitude that causes a lot of problems with our people. Rules are for “everyone else”.

EmperorCaesar:

But they also said third party vendors could issue "Replacement Certificate" and that they dont do that

They released his transcript to show he did graduated from there.

So since CSU dont re-issue replacement certificate and he lost his original one, what should he have done?

Not get a replacement cert from those vendor?
Politics / Re: Former CSU President To Sue Tinubu Over Forgery by MrSmith1: 3:14am On Oct 02, 2023
The same DSS that cleared Tinubu (Yakubus boss). The rot in the system is just too much. A cancer that has spread all over.

Godjone:
The fall of amoda will be legendary. There is no peace for an election rigger and a comfirmed drug thief.
"If" at the end of this investigation it is comfirmed that Amoda Ebola forged his certificate, the DSS should commence a criminal proceedings against INEC chairman for a criminal trial

The fact he is going through such lengths to keep this secret only exposes a huge security risk. Anyone who discovers such a “secret” can use it to compromise the president and thus Nigeria. Let’s think bigger than tribe or even “privacy” because this is a public figure. He shouldn’t have run if he has such skeletons he needs to keep in the closet.

Again, the bigger risk here is national security.

Business / Re: Lagos Imposes Levy On Generator Owners! by MrSmith1: 2:01pm On Jun 03, 2007
I wonder why people are talkin environmental issues.

1. Nowhere did it say what the levy would be used for. And even if for environmental issues, how it would be used.
2. Probably most important, wouldn't providing electricity be the biggest +ve move for the environment? Why "fix" an environmental problem with levied dollars when you can "prevent" it by providing public electricity supply.

Bottom line is if this article is accurate then it is yet another display of clueless policy makers trying to force the issue on the public all the while refusing to do their part.
Travel / Re: Are International Airports In Nigeria Too Small? by MrSmith1: 2:29am On Jul 19, 2006

Wow!!! Am I the only one who thinks the MMIA should be expanded? Here are my reasons:

- As someone mentioned earlier, if VN is to have 40+ airlines by 2010, construction needs to start now.
- Nigeria (Lagos in particular) really should vie for the the position of Aviation hub of Africa. There really is no reason why any ultra long-haul flight coming to Africa can't stop by Nigeria. If not for anything, to refuel. After all we have large reserves.
- Our international terminal with 2 baggage carrasels(sp?) is WAY under capacity for the number of simultaneous flights that come in.
- Customs/Immigration needs more room to process passengers coming into the country.
- VIP movements really hamper movement at the airports especially during peak period. Quite frankly I think there are too many "VIP's" who disrupt the lives of many at the airport. Blocking departures with their convoys, delaying flights because they aren't on the plane yet etc,

I am glad they took the initiative to build an airport hotel. The revenue alone from airlines who will lodge their crew there prior to the departing flight will be a great boost to the airport.
