European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Serie A - Camoranesi Fined For 1994 Challenge by ms4sure: 2:16pm On Aug 10, 2010
Former Italy World Cup-winning midfielder Mauro Camoranesi has been ordered to pay a $50,000 indemnity to an opponent he injured during a match in Argentina in 1994.
- 0

The ruling found in favour of Roberto Pizzo, who needed surgery and a long period of rehabilitation after being kicked by Argentine-born Camoranesi in a match in the Mar del Plata league south of Buenos Aires on August 14 1994.

"Although it's not possible to describe Camoranesi's action as deliberately intentional, it was incredibly clumsy [, ] abnormal and avoidable," the ruling stated.

Born in Tandil 160 km northwest of Mar del Plata, Camoranesi went on to play for Banfield in Argentina's top division, and had stints in Mexico and Uruguay before moving to Italy's Verona in 2000.

The 33-year-old has played for Juventus since 2002 and was a member of Italy's 2006 World Cup-winning team after becoming an Italian citizen.

Politics / 1 Died, 20 Arrested In Oyo Nurtw Members’ Clash•pdp Faction Condemns Bank On Oyo by ms4sure: 9:14am On Aug 09, 2010
ONE person has been confirmed dead during in the violence that erupted in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Saturday, after the reinstatement of Alhaji Abdul Lateef Akinsola, a.k.a. Tokyo, as the chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), while several other people sustained injuries.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olabisi Okuwobi, told Nigerian Tribune on Sunday that the deceased, one Jelili Alabi, was attacked by unidentified gunmen in Egbeda area of Ibadan and was shot from a moving vehicle during the clash.

She said about 20 members of the NURTW in the state had been arrested for allegedly causing mayhem in the state capital, following the reinstatement of Tokyo as the chairman of the union in the state.

After the state police command reinstated Tokyo on Saturday night, some aggrieved members of the union took to major streets, destroying vehicles and making bon fires along major streets and bus stops in the state capital.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that about 30 vehicles, including the private ones, were vandalised on the Iwo Road during the violence in which dangerous weapons were freely used.

As a result, traders along major streets abruptly locked up their shops, while people ran in different directions for safety.

When the Nigerian Tribune visited some of the areas on Sunday, the debris of burnt tyres and sticks were seen littering the ground.

Okuwobi, in a statement on Sunday, said the command gave sufficient security to one Abu Ganiyu, an official of the National Industrial Court, Lagos, on Saturday, for the enforcement of the court judgment, which was in favour of Tokyo as directed by the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation and the office of the Inspector General of Police.

She said both Tokyo and Alhaji Abdul Lateef Salako, a.k.a Eleweomo, had been warned to conduct themselves within the purview of the law of the land.

Meanwhile, the state government, on Saturday, proscribed the activities of the NURTW over alleged incessant violence in major motor parks in the state.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Communication, Dotun Oyelade, in a statement in Ibadan, said the governor was exercising the power vested on him, saying that it was unacceptable for any group to visit violence on the society and put lives and property of the people of the state in danger.

But, in a reaction, a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, led by Alhaji Yunus Akintunde, has condemned the action of the state government over the ban of the activities of the union in the state.

The party, in an electronic mail to reporters in Ibadan, on Sunday, frowned on the “meddlesomeness” of the government in the activities of the union and described the proscription order on the NURTW as unguarded.

It said the order negated the principle of the rule of law, justice and fairplay being preached by the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

However, Alhaji Akinsola has described as laughable, the announcement by the state government that motor garages in the state would now be under the supervision of the local government chairmen.

Tokyo, in telephone interview with the Nigerian Tribune, said the reason given by the governor was that there was chaos in the union, adding that there was nothing like that.

“How can I be causing chaos when the court has declared me the substantive chairman of the union? The governor has no right to ban the activities of the union in the state,” he said.

He called on people of the state to call the governor to order, saying that members of the NURTW would not hesitate to proceed on strike to protest against the order.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Mls All-stars 2-5 Manchester United: Red Devils Wallop All-stars In Houston by ms4sure: 9:33am On Jul 29, 2010
HOUSTON -- A massive crowd piled into Houston’s Reliant Stadium on Wednesday night as the MLS All-Stars took on English Premier League power Manchester United. The Red Devils would prove too strong on the night, running out 5-2 winners, but the match was as entertaining as anyone could have hoped for.

Bruce Arena’s starting lineup featured Donovan Ricketts in net with Kevin Alston, Jamison Olave, Chad Marshall and Heath Pearce manning the backline. The five man midfield included Sebastien Le Toux, Javier Morales, Shalrie Joseph, Guillermo Barros Schelotto and Marco Pappa, with Juan Pablo Angel playing as the lone striker.

Sir Alex Ferguson started the night with Edwin van der Sar between the pipes, Rafael, Wes Brown, Jonny Evans and Fabio along the backline and a three-man midfield that included John O’Shea, Darren Fletcher and Ryan Giggs. Dimitar Berbatov was left off the starting squad in favor of a Frederico Macheda, with Nani and Gabriel Obertan providing support from the flanks.

First Half

It took Manchester United less than 30 seconds to open the scoring. Second-year defender Kevin Alston played a lazy ball back across his own box where Macheda pounced and slid it calmly past Ricketts to give the visitors a very early lead.

Ricketts nearly gifted Macheda a second goal six minutes in. The keeper tried some unneeded fancy footwork and was pressured by the young striker into knocking the ball out of play.

The All-Stars, to their credit, tried to slow the game down and gain a foothold in the match, but with the Red Devils pressing the pace it took some desperate defending from Marshall and Joseph to keep United from punching in a second before the 10 minute mark.

In the 12th minute, Wes Brown’s header from a corner was deflected wide of the mark, setting up a second corner. Macheda would capitalize, rising above the MLS defense and putting a classy header into the far corner, extending United’s lead to 2-0 and putting the game in danger of getting out of hand in the very early going.

The MLS squad responded well with Morales putting van der Sar to work for the first time just moments later. The shot wasn’t actually all that dangerous, but it was one of the first real promising pieces of action from the All-Stars. Angel caused the first real moment of worry for United in the 15th minute with a vicious freekick that van der Sar did very well to keep out of his goal.

Ferguson was forced into an early change 23 minutes in when Tom Cleverly entered for the injured Obertan.

Angel continued to threaten United’s backline and went close again in the 25th minute when a low cross came to him in the center of the box. Some good defending was enough to put the New York striker off and force the shot high, but the All-Stars seemed to be finding their stride.

In the 28th minute a nice bit of individual play from Marco Pappa saw the Chicago winger find enough room for a hard shot on goal, but the angle was always in favor of van der Sar and the veteran ‘keeper was well placed to make the save.

The game opened up for the final portion of the first half with chances on both ends. Morales had another hit at the United goal in the 35th only to come up short and Giggs nearly set the table for Macheda’s hat-trick in the 37th, only to have the play brought back for offside.

In the 41st minute Darren Fletcher should’ve made it 3-0 in favor of the visitors after a brilliant little exchange saw Nani set him free behind the MLS defense. The midfielder’s shot pounded off the post and the rebound was just off for Macheda to follow.

Chad Marshall sent a header high and wide from a corner, marking the last real chance for either side in the opening frame and sending the game to halftime with Manchester United leading 2-0.

Second Half

The MLS All-Stars had a much better start to the second half than they did to the first. After bringing on Brian Ching, Omar Gonzalez, Jeff Larentowic, Nick Rimando, Bobby Convey and David Ferreira at the half, the home put forth a sustained bit of pressure in the opening 10 minutes. In the 48th minute a series of freekicks led to Marshall pounding another header on goal but the big defender hit it directly at van der Sar. Then in the 53rd Jonny Evans was handed a yellow card for a hard foul on Morales leading to another dangerous ball in from the wing.

United dealt with the pressure and escaped the early barrage unscathed, but the home team looked revitalized by all the changes.

Gonzalez nearly scored an improbable goal from near half field in the 60th. His driven cross seemed to fool van der Sar, but the United ‘keeper recovered in time to save himself from an embarrassing moment.

Moments later on the other end fullback Rafael had a chance to extend United’s lead. A darting run down the right flank and a nice cut opened up space for the shot but the youngster’s shot was directly at Rimando in the MLS net.

The crowd would be given plenty of reasons to cheer just after the hour mark.

The pro-Mexican fans in Houston were rowdy as Javier Hernandez made his first appearance for Manchester United, coming on in the 62nd minute to one of the loudest ovations all night. Moments later the Houston fans were on their feet again as hometown hero Brian Ching finally punished United for giving away another free kick.

Ferreira’s whipped freekick set the table for Ching to rise and place his header past the diving van der Sar to put the MLS back within striking distance at 2-1 in the 63rd.

It took United only seven minutes to put their lead back at two goals. Hernandez was lively and disposed defender Wilman Conde, who had just entered for the All-Stars. With no recourse but to pull the Mexican striker down, Conde gave United a freekick in a dangerous area 30 yards from goal in the middle of the park. Darron Gibson, another second half sub, hit a wonderfully struck freekick that found nothing but net.

Tom Cleverly would extend the lead in the 72nd minute with a brilliant goal of his own, juggling the ball over a defender before calmly beating Rimando and putting United up 4-1.

The stars would keep entering as Landon Donovan, Dwayne De Rosario and Brad Davis all came on after the goal, while United gave the crowd another moment to cheer with the entry of Paul Scholes.

http://supergoal.justgoo.com
Chicharito gave the crowd another moment to cheer as the young striker netted to make it 5-1 with just under 10 minutes left to play. It was a brilliant goal from the Mexican, who timed his run well to slip behind the defense and was poised enough to calmly chip the bouncing ball over the onrushing Rimando.

As if to cap off the perfect night for the Houston fans, former Dynamo star Dwayne De Rosario pulled a consolation goal back for the MLS, with the assist coming from his longtime teammate Bring Ching. Brad Davis nearly rounded out the night for the hometown fans in the dying moments pounding three shots on van der Sar’s net only to be denied three times.

In the end the English side walked away dominant winners in a 5-2 route, but it was an entertaining night and the over 70,000 fans in attendance were treated to a nice spectacle of attacking soccer.

Sports / Maradona Hits Back, Says He Was Cheated And Lied To by ms4sure: 9:28am On Jul 29, 2010
Diego Maradona broke his silence Wednesday, a day after he was sacked as the national coach of Argentina, and said he was betrayed and lied to.

In a scathing attack, he said that the chief of the Argentine football association (AFA), Julio Grondona, and co-coach Carlos Bilardo lied to him and cheated him. He made a brief statement to journalists in capital Buenos Aires.

The AFA announced late Tuesday that Maradona's contract as national coach would not be renewed.

AFA spokesman Cherquis Bialo announced the coach's departure after talks on Monday between Maradona and Grondona failed to produce an extension for a contract that expires on Saturday.

The AFA could not accept the conditions that Maradona had set before he would sign a contract extension to remain at the helm of the national team through the 2014 World Cup in neighbouring Brazil, Bialo said.

A legendary striker who led Argentina to a world championship in 1986, the 49-year-old Maradona coached a team that struggled to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.

Once in South Africa, though, Argentina raised expectations by running overshod in the group stage with three straight wins. They followed with a 3-1 victory over Mexico in the Round of 16 before being knocked out in Cape Town with a 4-0 humiliation against Germany.

Maradona, who read from a prepared sheet Wednesday, said that Grondona lied to him at the World Cup. After the defeat against Germany, Grondona told him in the changing room in South Africa in front of witnesses, that he would remain coach, Maradona said.

But things changed after the team returned home, Maradona claimed, and he was told that seven of his assistant coaches would have to be replaced.

Maradona also lashed out at Bilardo, saying that "while we were mourning (our elimination at the World Cup), he worked in the shadows to make sure that I was kicked out."

Romance / Hot Tips For French Kissing! by ms4sure: 2:17pm On Jul 23, 2010
This is a guide to basic kissing, i.  e.   you learn the basics and get the basics right, then experiment and try different styles and more advanced techniques. Â

The basics

1.   Brush your teeth, get a good bath, nicely groomed and clean and fresh, before meeting the other person.   There's nothing worse than kissing the rear end of a garbage truck

2.   Get into a comfortable position - you can't kiss if your back feels like it's gonna break.   Suggestion - Sit side by side on a comfy sofa.   businessnaira. com
3.   Hold your lover , firmly but gently - don't cause pain.   Suggestion would be to hold the shoulders, the neck or gently on the side of the face, one side or both sides. Â

4.   Move your faces closer.   Don't bump noses.   Suggestion would be the guy angle his face slightly so you don't bump noses. Â

5.   Kiss gently, normal closed lips kissing, and close your eyes.   Closing your eyes increases the sensations you feel, and also sets the mood. Â

6.   Continue kissing gently.   Get comfortable with simple closed lips, lip-to-lip kissing before going anywhere else. Â

7.   If fine till here, tentatively, slowly and lightly draw your tongue across the other person's lips. Â

8.   Chances are from here, if the other person lightly parts her tongue, slowly explore the other person's tongue in a light licking motion.   businessnaira. com
9.   The tongue has a very sensitive surface, which is why tongue to tongue is the essence of french kissing. Â

10.   After you've tried lightly licking the other person's tongue, you can try sucking on it, wrestling with it ( see if you can hold it to the floor of her mouth ) and other things like that. Â

11.   Explore the other areas of the mouth.   Especially the roof of the mouth.   Lightly lick, or tickle the area with your tongue. Â

12.   Don't bite.   whatever you do, don't bite. Â

13.   Don't swing your tongue round and round like a windmill.   Explore lightly, don't drill your way through. Â

14.   Breathe through your nose.   Breathe through your nose.   I say again, breathe through your nose. Â

15.   Follow so far? You can lightly use your hands too, lightly rubbing the other person.   Suggestions, along the waist, along the back, the arms, especially the inside of the arm, the neck, maybe running your fingers through her hair.   Again, don't cause pain. Â

16.   Continue kissing. Â

17.    Dont swallow partner's saliva or else.   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .  AIDS

18.    Make sure you practise with your boyfriend or girlfriend .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   .   if you should cheat with another person's partner, you will surely get caught because you can kiss for the next 10 hours without suspecting any foul playÂ

No fewer than 2, 000 Lagos residents, including the unemployed and the undergraduates, have been pencilled down to benefit from vacation job arrangement.

The programme, under the Enterprise Registration and Identification Agents, is expected to gulp over N57m.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday to unveil the strategy for the programme, the state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr. Adeniyi Oyemade, said when engaged, the prospective candidates were expected to comb the streets of Lagos to enumerate business enterprises for the purpose of adequate planning by government.

He said the 2,000 undergraduates and 40 supervisors would identify and enumerate corporate organisations and enterprises across the state within a period of eight weeks.

He therefore called on interested applicants to go to the commerce ministry at the state secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, to obtain the application form before Friday, which is the closing date.

Oyemade said, ”Each agent will be paid the sum of N10, 000 allowance monthly and N1, 000 as weekly transport allowances, while each supervisor will also collect N10, 000 monthly.”

The commissioner said the exercise would run from August 2 to September 24, 2010.

He said it had become necessary to do the exercise now so as to ensure correct data bank of business enterprises.

He added, ”The primary purpose of data generation of businesses in the state is for economic planning and youth empowerment through provision of jobs for the teeming youths particularly the undergraduates.”

Oyemade disclosed that in the last exercise, 250, 000 enterprises were enumerated across the state, adding that the new directory would be sold for N3, 000.

He stated that the government was committed to promoting small and medium scale enterprises, saying that when the directory was completed, it would serve as a compendium of information for investors in the state.

Oyemade said the 2, 000 undergraduates and graduates to be recruited for the two months job would be trained for three days before they would be sent to enumerate the enterprises.

He called on corporate bodies and SMEs in the state to support government‘s initiative by cooperating with the agents through the provision of useful information that would guide the state government in planning for the development of SMEs and also provide the enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
