What should he have done differently?

Minemrys:

Isn't it obvious? The guy is a nice guy. He got interested in you, but found out u are in a relati0nship, and n0w he wants to m0ve on by avoiding you. He didn't get close to u just to be friends, and when he figured things w0n't go his way, he lets things be. Probably the guy is an em0ti0nal pers0n and doesn't want to get hurt, so he figured he has to leave in time. I suggest u let him be rather than u give him hope on s0mething that would never be.

"see ladies gathered around her to lift her up" ... Lol... I love the sisterhood. grin even though them go still mock for back, them still lift her up. grin grin

To the lady, she's a fool! A very big fool. It's one thing to ask a guy out( which I don't support anyway) it's another thing to propose marriage to a guy. I just wonder who will be marrying who?. And to top it all, she proposed in a public place.... Hain!

I tend to think people stage these things to get views on their YouTube channels

Which writeup and which newspaper? If you can share a link to the article too. Thanks

MarieSucre:

Really? What do girls do in their teens and 20s?

I think I want to reply now cheesy

1) Here's a topic on fp now: https://www.nairaland.com/5180399/why-some-ladies-attracted-bad/1 "Why Are Some Ladies Attracted To Bad Boys?"
2) https://www.instagram.com/p/BvuSEY3guXR/ "I wonder why a lot of girls are like this to be honest" by KlintonCod. You should watch it as it's less than a minute. The summary of the video (and also what many girls confirmed in the comments) is that they keep going back to guys that abuse/cheat/maltreat them, etc.
3) Finally, here's one directly by a woman: https://www.instagram.com/p/BxMI_ngHTvO/. She's a South African musician. The video here is her boyfriend beating her mercilessly. A fan tries admonishing her but she tells her to mind her business. This is not the first time that occurs

Of course, this is such a small sample. All generalizations are wrong (including this one) but you get my drift? You're more likely to succeed as a guy with women by being an asshole/jerk than being loyal and nice as you'd then be seen as a weakling - that's not exciting enough when hormones are still raging. The aphorism "nice guys finish last" needs no restating here. There was a post by a lady saying that she has feelings for a guy as they've known each other for a while but he becomes gentle/well-behaved/laconic when she's with him and seeking advice here if she should go on with him. Lol. There are countless other cases.

What's your take or you're on this table too? Haha

Please make it about something else. This is why a lot of men grow up bitter. They don't get the attention if women, the start hating them. Find other priorities in life.

I agree with you. That's why many celebrities (and other males that later get rich/famous) goals after wealth is to bed and/or impregnate as many ladies as possible. They see it as a retribution. Our fathers, elderly male figures should teach men about these as they grow up as I think it's very important. This situation creates a cycle that everybody suffers from (guys break girls' heart, girls get their revenge turning a once calm boy to a gigolo who in turn vows to break many hearts!!). But ladies, your ways are not pure too especially in your teens and 20ssmiley

What do you think?

Alright sir,
But isn't it this same "mentally challenged and autistic wards" that sweep the federal government scholarship for first class grads...

Get your facts right!

Tell me,....Hopefully 10-15 years from now Yu'll prolly be rich ...Would you let your children go through the pains you suffered in your public schools??...

I personally believe that schools like UI and OAU have got good brains.....Apart from this two ehn....the rest na story.

Kindly erase that mentality of rich people dump their wards in Priv unis...Not all Priv Uni students have rich parents. And surely every Public Uni also has its own "mentally challenged and autistic" students.

Any school that doesn't qualify for Zain africa challenge is trash shey?? Ok sir. Priv Unis are trash.
Satisfied?

Where do you put UNILAG? I'd say the three.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Alright,i Can't Keep Calm And Hide God's Blessing by mufuteeeee(m): 1:49pm On Dec 16, 2017
Opeyemiebun:
Firstly, when I wanted to get admission...I didn't choose the school but God led me into choosing the school(without telling my parents)I saved up and did change of institution.
They vowed not to have a part in my process to that school....meanwhile,I chose the school as my second choice (mechanical engineering) but my first choice of course is Civil Engineering.
I proceeded to the state and school and for 3months I had no post utme as I was told no vacancy for 2nd choice.
I had faith in God....I met a prof in the school who told me I could never be admitted to the school and mechanical engineering department being my 2nd choice of course not to talk of Civil being my first choice in another institution.
I kept praying, low n behold we were called to hold post utme because the first choice guys didn't do too well and couldnt pick all candidate from them.
I kept praying and a night to the post utme, I was directed to study past utme of 2001 mathematics ,certain year of physics and English by my spirit.
I did exactly that and the next day. ...English,maths,physics were lifted from the past questions I studied and I didn't even bothered to calculate because the answers were in my head....
To cut it short,I got admitted to study my first choice of course (civil engineering) in my second choice of school.
Secondly,my fiance served some months before me. She was batch C and I went with the next batch A.
I was posted to a northern state and my intention was to first relocate....I gave my names and details out to help me get relocation back to the west.
On getting to camp,I met lot of people and as a fine boy grin.....I met ladies who loved me a lot and promised not to relocate because of me.....I decided to call everyone to put on hold my relocation as I wasn't interested in relocating anymore. I picked relocation form and never submitted it.
Lo and behold,on Monday morning on the parade ground while waiting for ppa posting....I got the shock (a message came in and it was from NYSC congratulating that my relocation was successful)
I ran to where they pasted names and there it was..my name on number 34.
Everyone was shocked....I was angry, picked my bag and left
My journey there,a guy I met just 2ce during NYSC because we were posted to same ministry and only greeted twice (because he had a job and was ghosting)messaged me and said there is a federal job opportunity for someone that read a particular course...the job had free accommodation, free masters, 76k salary after tax( this is exactly the course my fiance read).
I got the info Friday evening and interview was due for Monday. I quickly picked my phone and rang her and preparation was made for her to travel.
She travelled and got the job( she works there now)
He took me on relocation to fulfill that purpose.
God always exist and show his hands on my issue grin grin grin
Halleluyah

Nice story but I can assure you there are equal number of Mormons, Muslims, Hindus, agnostics that had unexpected favours too. It's about being in the right place at the right time and most Importantly being ready and prepared when opportunity comes knocking. If you re-read your initial post, you'd see that it's your attitude and aptitude to take advantage of opportunities that made you get where you are. May this not be the last of your upliftments. Don't rest on your oars ...

Nice story @opeyemiebun. However, don't let any pastor or imam scam you. Whether you pay your tithe or not, you'd reach where you reach i.e. whether you believe in God or not. In other words, success is no respecter of religion. The same way atheist Britons or Jewish American or Shinto Japanese is successful, anybody can be. We need to disabuse our mind of religion in this country or who does Bill Gates, Elon Musk and Warren Buffet pay tithe to?

I do not know what T. B. Joshua said on tithe but, if he differs from others, then what he said is the right one. Some of the 'leading' pastors in Nigeria are already in a pit they don't know how to come out from and they will do anything to justify whatever took them them just so they can feel not so lost.

One man revealed what was done him in 4square and many think it's an isolated case but the truth is that it's happening in over 90 percent of today's churches. I have experienced it more than once and you need to be committed in every way to know these things do happen.

I dnt think thats necessary

That's where he was getting at which is what I said in my earlier post. He wanted to get your attention. Anyway, do guys expect to approach a lady and she says yes immediately? Even if she is interested, she should first brood over it. That is if she isn't in a relationship presently too. Guys should learn how to take rejection (I'm a guy). She may want to enjoy her single status for sometime, be dating or a million other reasons she isn't interested. She should just communicate her stand with the guy sooner than later.

You should know the guy is just trying to get your attention. The longer he draws the conversation, the happier he is. You shouldn't give him a chance to be happy doing that to you. That is if you are not enjoying the discourse...

Thank you. I echo same thoughts as you. Also, a Yoruba too. This is not worth celebrating. When other countries are racing to the moon, creating cutting-edge research in Artificial Intelligence, Electronics, Quantum mechanics, philosophy, economics, etc, we'd be masturbating over worthless things. People get PhDs every year. May God bless you.

We keep complaining of leaders but I'm scared the followers are no better. People get the leaders they deserve. It'd be nice to get to know you.

slurryeye2:
First of all, I'm a black person, I'm a Nigerian and I'm from Yoruba tribe.

Now to the topic. What's so special about having a phd in a program that it has to make a frontpage in the most popular forum in Nigeria?

We need to stop all these celebration of mediocrity. She is the first black to have phd in biomedical engineering from Canada (which I'm very sure is not true) and so freaking what.

I can bet with anyone that there are many blacks that would have had phd in biomedical engineering before June 2017
University of Toronto
McGill
University of BC
Queens University
University of Montreal
University of Alberta
Waterloo etc.
All offer doctorate in biomedical engineering. Are you now telling me none of those schools have ever had black graduate before now?

This is not something worth celebrating abeg and very ridiculous to see people jubilating on this undecided
