I'm in no suggesting a protest or a war. Survival skills and coping mechanism is what i'm all about.
Klass99:

What do you suggest we do? Start a protest in Naija or be more mindful of our choices, lifestyles and expenses?

You can't go to the local or super markets and refuse to buy necessities because of price change. Las las na you go wound because a trader/merchant won't change their rates, as they are feeling the inflation too, when purchasing from original manufacturers/producers.

The last time I shopped for toiletries and groceries, I kept wondering to myself how are families/households of five or more people coping in these times. I am solo with no dependents to feed or cater for (except for parents whom we collectively take care of, as siblings) but I am feeling the heat as a single person.

Thank you so much, this points are valid and they come in handy
Felimax:

* We avoid buying petty stuffs from the sellers on the street. I do bulk buying from dealers in the market. Thereby saving on impulse buying and it gives me leverage to buy as if I want to sell.

* With my electric stove my gas can go for months.

* Family health card on one of the HMOs, done by my wife though.

* We go to slaughter to get our beef as if we want to go and resell and in my area we are surrounded with fish ponds that sometimes serve our fish needs.

* Have the kids in good school, quite affordable and though not the best for now.

* Somethings are cheaper in some places in Port Harcourt so when i am going back to family in Warri I get those stuffs for them and we have been managing.

* Wifey and I have side hustles that helps take care of any unforeseen, with this we don't really bank on our salaries.

Yes, sometimes we involve few families with us to do bulk buying on rice, beans and garri and share it accordingly. We call it Osusu buying, that one really helps also.

God has been faithful!

It's no longer news that the world at large is experiencing inflation. But what is shocking is the way prices of goods and services are skyrocketing
in Nigeria and nobody is saying anything.
The prices of things keeps changing on a daily basis and they are no tangible explanations to this effect. cry

Family / Reason Why Women Don't Initiate Sex In 2022 by mummyscenter(f): 4:41pm On May 10, 2022
In this part of the world, a lot of women find it difficult to request for sex from their spouse. Initiating sex can be an important part of any healthy relationship if sex means a lot to you both. It shouldn't always fall on one partner to be the one to initiate, because being wanted and desired feels nice, right? But also, initiating sex can feel like a tricky thing to navigate - so much potential misunderstanding, and maybe even rejection.

Watch the video below and learn how request for your conjugal right.

Mothers are really slacking on this. We must identify this problem and deal with it constructively.
Family / Catch Me In The Boxing Ring With Peppa The Pig by mummyscenter(f): 1:44pm On Apr 10, 2022
Dear Parents,

Do you know that children learn as they watch especially from their favourite characters? It is important to always supervise what your children watch and listen to. Yes, most cartoons have a foreign accent and it is really hard for Naija and African parents to follow-up on the conversations in the programme but we have to try so that we don't fail in our roles as parent.

Omo, you need to hear Peppa Pig giving it to her clumsy father - no be small thing (I have decided to personally deal with Peppa in this post). Peppa's dad is quite clumsy (some dad's actually are) but that does not warrant her to talk him any how especially in our clime. We don't want our children learning the wrong 'confidence' from TV, infact Naija parent will dash them better 'woto woto'. Nevertheless, it is better to avoid such episode all together.
