A Brazilian forensic expert who celebrated his soccer team’s win by having sex with a dead body has been sacked and arrested after been caught by a police officer.

The 52 years old man known as Wanderly dos Santo Silva tried escaping after a police officer caught him having sex with a minor’s corpse.

The officer had reportedly gone to the Autopsy room to collect an information about a female corpse when he caught the man in the act.

The federal government has appealed for cooperation of road use7rs as the Mile 2 to Tin-Can Island section of the Apapa-Oshodi-Ojota-Oworonsoki Expressway project undergoes 72 hours partial closure for rehabilitation from Friday, December 6th.

The Director of Federal Highways, South West, Funso Adebiyi, made the appeal during an inspection of the road in Lagos. Adebiyi said heavy rainfall slowed down rehabilitation works on Apapa roads.

He said it resulted in terrible road degeneration, causing accidents. The director said palliative work had begun on the highway with the rains ending, and the Ministry of Works and Housing had secured commitment of truck drivers to leave the highway for repair works.

Federal high court in Lagos state on Thursday,December5,2019 has sentenced former Governor of Abia state,Orji Kalu to 12 years imprisonment for N7.2 billion money laundering and fraud.

The federal high court convicted Kalu,now a senator,on all the 39 counts charged against him by the Economic and Financial crimes commission(EFCC).

The Kano State police command said it had arrested six suspected kidnappers and four armed robbers in addition to rescuing one abducted victim within the last week.

The state police commissioner, Mr Habu Sani disclosed this while addressing a press conference in Kano State on Wednesday.

“With renewed vigour and determination, Sustained Puff-Adder Operations, Community Policing Engagements, the launch of Police Campaign Against Daba and Other Vices and Technical Support Operations, tremendous successes were achieved in the last one week.”

The West African Examinations Council(WAEC) has released the list of impounded certificates of candidates, who were believed to have engaged in malpractices during its examinations held as far back as December 1992 and 1993.

The council released the examination years and certificate numbers of the affected candidates, noting that the nature of their malpractices was impersonation.

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter was admitted to a south Georgia hospital over the weekend for treatment of a urinary tract infection, a spokeswoman said in a statement.

This comes just days after he returned home following surgery to relieve bleeding on the brain.

Deanna Congileo, a spokeswoman for The Carter Center, said in a statement that the 95-year-old former president was admitted to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus over the weekend.

The Economic and financial crimes commission has denied dropping charges against the former petroleum minister,Diezana Alison Madueke for alleged money laundering.

The EFCC spokesperson,wilson Uwujaren on Wednesday said in an statement that:

“The attention of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has been drawn to reports currently circulating in the social media, purporting that the Commission had dropped the criminal charge against a former minister of petroleum resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke and other persons indicted for money laundering.

“The Commission enjoins members of the public to disregard the report which is false and misleading. At no time did the Commission withdraw the charge, which is still before Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court, Lagos.

“The only development was that the Commission took a prosecutorial decision to split the initial 14-count charge to enable separate arraignment of the defendants following a spate of adjournments that prevented the arraignment of the defendants more than one year after the case was listed.

A 32-year-old salesman, Chigozie Nwanguma, was on Tuesday appeared in a Yaba Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing recharge cards worth N3.2 million belonging to his employer.

A 26-year-old man identified as Sodiq Yusuf has died while swimming in the pool of the National Stadium in Surulere Lagos.

State police command spokesperson, Bala Elkana, said in astatement that Sadiq was rescued and rushed to Randle General Hospital, Surulere, where he later died.

The police command in Osun State has arrested a resident known as Mrs. Rukayat Abdulrahmon for allegedly killing her three years old son,Ganiyu.

Three children believed to be victims of child trafficking have been rescued by the Police command in Anambra state.

They were rescued at Nkpor in North local government area by police officers who also arrested two women caught in the act.
