Come Next week, AIESEC Nigeria would be hosting the first ever Youth2business in Nigeria.

So what is Youth2business?!!!

Youth2Business Forum being organized by AIESEC Nigeria is a one day event that would bring together corporate Nigeria and the youths in Nigeria with the single purpose of coming up with solutions to some of the social challenges in Nigeria. It would also be an avenue for companies to tap into the energy and creativity of youths in solving some of their peculiar challenges.

Approximately 70% of Nigeria’s population, representing about 98 million people, are youths. We believe there are huge potentials within this section of the population. We believe that Youths in Nigeria not only have the creativity to solve challenging problems in Nigeria, but they also possess the energy to be persistence. The forum; Youth2business therefore seeks to provide a platform for the youths to find a voice and use their energy and creativity to solve these issues.

The Forum would also allow corporate Nigeria: Companies in Nigeria to harness this energy and creativity in youths to proffer solutions to some the peculiar challenges being faced by these companies. From how to leverage technology to increase market share, to the best way companies could attract talents, students attending Youth2business would come together and find solutions to challenges like this.

Education / Leadership Lessons From Football by mutanbe: 9:56pm On Dec 02, 2010
Do you love football? Then read this Blog post: leadership lesson from football:
---------------------------------------------------

Today, we will be taking some lessons from the leadership styles of two famous and influential coaches who have been able to carve a niche for themselves in the game. But before I proceed any further, I have to be quick to mention here that this is neither a write-up analyzing teams nor another publication patronizing the game rather, all we want to do here is learn their leadership lessons and forget the details.

Now the coaches, Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho are our models for this lesson. The former is unarguably a great leader and this fact is evident in the number of leaders he has built who later became assets to the game. Over the years, he has successfully made profits for his team by trading his high profile players with a steady confidence of building a replacement and guess what, he always does,

Politics / A Need To Redefine The Word:change-agent [blogpost] by mutanbe: 10:46pm On Nov 25, 2010
So many youths now doing one thing or the other; from having NGOs and Initiatives to organizing seminars, conferences, and meetings to address some issues such as leadership, environment, social responsibility, and to top the list – entrepreneurship.

So what is wrong with that? Nothing! Until I had the chance to walk up to some youths and talk to them. The typical conversation goes thus:

Business / The Enemy Called Fear by mutanbe: 12:25pm On Nov 23, 2010
To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom. ~Bertrand Russell

A lot of times, people fail to achieve success; not because they don’t have what it takes, in terms of potentials, talents or resources but because they fail to try. They fail to reach out, they see the opportunities, but they hold back and fail to make good use of it. And there is only one thing responsible for this; it’s the enemy called fear.

Fear does one thing; hold you back from ever reaching your full potentials. There are a whole lot of things yet to be done in the world today;a whole lot of goals to be achieved; business empires yet to be created, social ills yet to be tackled and solved but there is no way we are ever going to achieve any of these great feats if we are paralyzed to inaction by fear.

Computers / Which Internet Package Should I Go For? Advice Needed! by mutanbe: 4:06pm On Oct 27, 2010
Hello Nairalanders!

I need your advice here

I am looking at buying a new Internet Package for my Office and i need inputs.

We had starcomms IZAP before, but the Modem got spoilt. The reason we want something else apart from starcomms was due to the fact that starcooms was kinda slow. The plan we had on Starcomms was 24hrs do download data limit and it cost 15k per month

Last month we made a mistake and we bought ugo from cobranet. The reason why i said it was a mistake was because it was far to expensive to maintain, although it was quite faster than starcomms. The details of the Cobranet package is:

21k per month, for 24 hours, but the draw back was that it had 5GB of Data limit, which we exhausted in a week. Although they have an Unlimited Data transfer plan, the cheapest goes for 45k per month, which is far above what can be budgeted,

We presently use Multilinks, but the draw back with multilinks is that they no longer have the 24hrs Unlimited Dataplan,

Someone suggested Directonpc, but i got a feedback that it is a crappy network!!!!

sad

So people, is there any package you can recommend for me? Thank you! Your Input would be appreciated.

You can check out what some of this foreigners have to say about their experience in Nigeria here http://www.aiesecnigeria.org/experiencenigeria

I believe what AIESEC in NIGERIA is doing via their student work abroad program is helping no matter how little in helping foreigners have a better view, knowledge and understanding about NIGERIA.

You can check this out via http://www.aiesecnigeria.org/experiencenigeria which chronicles the experiences of foreigners who have come to Nigeria for internships,

I believe these sort of activities is commendable.
