Dear Brothers,

I was wondering why it took so long why anyone would contribute to such a very sentitive topic as this. I began to ask questions that could it be true that it is onlyn Hsmpwise and Stranger 12 are the only few people on the surface of earth that are concern about the ill treatment our other brothers are mete with on daily basis.
NO! Absolutely no! It is just that most of us have resorted to fate and prefer to smile in the heat of suffering.

Little wonder that the Administrator has been less concern about the topic. This explains why a "catchy" to as this has not been properly classified at three weeks after posting.

Brothers I weep for the black race. It is only when the batle within is fought and won that the batle against stigmitisation of black race could be won.

Shalom Brothers!

Didisky,

I can see that you are the desperate type who does nothing than to poach on any available opportuties. People like you are the easy victims in the hands of the conmen. Wetin concern me and you. your kadara can never be mine. Your destiny is in your hands. Go to US if you like I am not stoping you.

Look let me tell you I am not the desperate type and I am well enough comfortable in Nigeria. So you do not stand any possition to advise where to be before I can make it. You don't have to remeind me that we did not share the same destiny. I had already known that since I was a kid, and that is why my hardwork and selfconfidence have paid off well for me.

If US is where your breakthrough is, good and fine. I had already wished you good luck. Ther is no crime in offering advice to a brother!

YOU ARE CHANGING THE TUNE OF THIS THREAD shocked shocked shocked

Culture / Is English Our Native Language In Nigeria by muyete(m): 6:31pm On Jun 19, 2006
Can somebody help me out with this. I often get confused about regarding english language as either our native language in Nigeria or an official language. This very position is very difficult to determine even in the international relations.

I know there are great minds in the house so I want your contributions.

Lonely Dear,

I want you to realise that Old Glory is not having any hard feelins toeards you. She is just being natural and blunt. I am not totally aginst you helping fellow borother but the Yorubas will say ore ni won-- lendind a hand of assistance has a measure---- if I am right.

One thing I apprecaite about you is tenacity to help others in the face of criticism and I hope that you will be rewarded. But be truthfull and staright forward in your dealings.
lonelytune:

, but am very serious about helping any brother out there. At times, life is so funny. remember, your family ,friends, or co-workers are not the only one you should / could help.

YOU CAN ALWAYS EXTEND YOU HAND TO THE BACK and FRONT, SIDEWAYS, UP and DOWN OR CIRCULAR IF YOU WANT TO.

Be careful if you twist your hand like that it could be broken.

And you Didisky why do you want to reap where you did not sow? Answer me now.
Travel / Re: What Is The Best Way To Get US Visiting Visa? by muyete(m): 5:51pm On Jun 16, 2006
Didisky,

Let no one deceive you. Applying for US visa is very simple and at the same time very difficult. You statr to experience the difficulty right from the time you que up in the morning or what time you get there. Eventually when you get inside you are subjected to humiliating treatment from the fellow Nigerians who collects your forms and process your form. The point of difficulty is where you either enjoy continuos difficulty or mother luck smiles on you.
You need not spend up to 5 mins with the consular officer b4 your case is decided. Your need not provide all the documantary evidence to the consular officer before you know your fate.

I am able to say these because i have had experiences genuinely seeking visa to US.

The last time was a conference to US. The conferon had invited our company to attended a global confernce in Texas and I was nominated along side my MD. nOW my MD had multiple entry visa to USA so he need not apply. The company and the conferon provided all the necessary documentary evidence to the conference for the purpose of visa issuance to the visa office.

After the interview the consular officer had nothing to say than to refuse my application based on the fact that my MD should have applied alongside wiith me. I vehemently told them that it does not make sense for someone who had multiple visa to USA to apply again. He could only give his consent and guarantee as he has done.

Guys I ended up thumb print while a guy who claimed to be working in Shell and is going for the same confernce was asked to come the next day for his visa.

So how would you consider my ordeal.

LET LONELY SHARE WITH US THAT MAGICAL STRATEGY SHE INTENDS TO ADOPT,

then you can do what ever it takes to leave the country by land. sea. or by air any means necessary to survive in a country like ours. you have to struggle .
Why should you subject yourself to these unsolicited danger. If you believe yourself and hard working, then you will make it in Nigeria. Ther are are people who are making it here in Naija and yours sholud not be different.
Crime / Re: Horrible Things Nigerians Do! by muyete(m): 1:32pm On Jun 15, 2006
Sorry my brother. I read your ordeal and I couldnt help but to feel for you. You are just another victim of ethnocentricism. The way you were treated at the interview is a fall back of the way the west are looking at Nigerians. You are lucky that you were not subjected to degradatory scrutiny at the airport when you arrived UK. That has been the experience of most of my friends who have travelled to UK on the paltform of HSMP and other legal schemes.

If you are very conversant with the western media, there was a recent documentary about fraud and identity theft in the US. CNN has aired this documentary 2 times in less than a month. The documentary showcased Nigerians as the major perpatrators of these dastard crimes. If "Agnes" went out of her brief to scrutinize you, knowing fully well that she is not oblivous that you are her brother from Nigeria, do not take offence in that. The poor woman is ust trying to do her job, only with some level of unguided overzealousness.

The image of Nigerians  in diaspora has already been tarnished and we relly on people like you out there to make the difference.

Let me end with my experience with the processing of HSMP. I also applied with all the relevant documents when the processing fess was just E150. The applicationwas not considered untill more than a year (13 months) after the submission. You want to ask the outcome of the application? Refusal of course! Refusal on the basis that the Home office could not decide on the athenticity of the tax clearance I submitted. Unfortunately this is where I needed to claim the required points for qualification.

The tax clearance system in Lagos state was change during the period my application was in the backlog; and now I was to be assessed with the new tax clearance that was not in existence when I submitted my application. However I compplained about this and the response was that I needed to submit the cureent Electronic Tax Clearance Certificate (e-TCC) from Lagos State. As you know very well this entails applying afresh since you are submitting fresh and new evidence.n This I did with the payment of the reviewed processing fess of E315. 3 weeks later my apllication was returned unattended to but the fess was not refunded. The reason they gave was that the local embassy in Nigeria has advised them to cast doubt on the authenticity of the (e-TCC). I strongly protested this and even told them that they can confim my tax dtails on the internet but all proved abortive. After the presribed 2 reviews I had to give up.

I later came to conclussion that I have paid dearly for the sins of other Nigerians. I was just a victim of the same ethnocentricism. But I have since left everything behind me. I have to face life and wish to change this already marred image of our.

Shalom to you my brother.

Crime / Re: Cnn Showcase How Nigerians In Tx Do Fraud by muyete(m): 11:23am On Jun 14, 2006
If I remember correctly he said 40% of Nigerians in the US are involved in fraud, not 40% of crimes committed in the US. Either way it's his opinion and I think he is wrong, but you mistated what he said.

Yes you are right. I might have mis-stated what the guy said because I watched the late nite edition of the report grin grin grin .

What ever crimes Nigerians have committed in the US should be associated to these few individuals who were involved. When you generalise the behaviour of a few set of individuals in relation to the whole race then that becomes an issue. The report will only tannish the already marred image the country has been trying to wash clean.

The repetitive nature of the report is a clear indication that the US has an ulterior motives against Nigerians. I insist.
Has it ever occur to you that CNN or other foreign media will not showcase the good works and the contributions Nigerians have made to their economy and country as a whole.?

CNN and other foreign media should be very care in thier choice of report not only abot Nigeria but about africa at large.
Crime / Re: Cnn Showcase How Nigerians In Tx Do Fraud by muyete(m): 5:24pm On Jun 13, 2006
The cnn had, in its documentary on june 10 and posted on its web site, dwelt on criminal activities of US- Based Nigerians, especially those living in Houston. It is disheartening that the documentary focused majorly on the Nigerian community in the US and by implication, all Nigerians. It is dissapointing that out of 10 persons prominently cited as being involved in the criminal ring, only 2 were non- Nigerians. To add salt to injury, a Nigerian ex-convict even testified that of all crimes committed in th US, 40% were committed by Nigerians.

I have gone through this myself and I also watch the documentary in question. I will totally disagree with the conclussion that most crimes committed in the US are committed by Nigerians. I am very sure the documentary was aimed at achieving a polital and diplomatic points.

If you remember, in recent times in the US, there has been a debate in the house to ameng and review the immigration laws. The govt is considering granting permanent status to a number of illegal immigrants of which Africans dominates the segment and invariably Nigerians having the largest numbers. This documentary is undoubtedly aimed at tanishing the image of Nigeria as a whole and jetisoning the chances of nigerians in this latest political developments in the US.
Romance / Re: Wife Material But Can't Speak Good English by muyete(m): 6:05pm On Jun 12, 2006
The girl has everything a wife should have so you said. The fact that she does not speak good english should not be an issue.
The girl is very ambitous i guess, of course she is in a tetiary institution. How did she get there. How many of those "priviledge girls" with a good history of kindergateen education have passed Jamb or have gained admission into the tertiary institution.
I bet you it is just a mtter of time the poor girl will blend and improve. She is aready in the learning environment and it takes gradual process before it will materiallised.

A girl of this type will rather be a good home maker in its entirety. This is the prayer of every man who desire to get maryy. The other qualities are just after- thought. We must not fail to forget that the girl in question may be endowed in other areas that has not been exploited through this forum. Afterall Bill Gates was a drop out in Harvad University. But today he can afford to pay all the asalries of the professors in that institution for the rest of their lives. Common guys speak or not speak is not an issue. One mans meat is another mans poison so they say.
