Had my honeymoon in Mauritius. It's a beautiful island. Meet a few Nigerians. What I can say is that the place is not a place to hustle. It's mainly for tourism and the people are happy to take your money. The residents are mainly of India descent so I can understand the racism. Though I didn't experience any, maybe because we were tourist and they actually thought my wife and I were South Africans.

Hi, pls how were you able to get your visa?, was it on arrival too?. Also, how much is the visa fee?

What and what were required of you at the Lagos airport and the Mauritius airport.

Thanks in anticipation.

Pls permit me to recommend Grace House Resort to you very close to yaya center. I spent like a week there and i really enjoyed theirs service. It a Christain like hotel, the staff are exceptional. One of them led me to my host about 5mins walk from the hotel without collecting a dime
I agree with pavore9. You can change some cos u may likely get a better offer in town than at the airport

Ok bro. Thanks for your support too, I'll check the hotel out.

Taking an Uber ride on arrival will be better. Change few dollars at the airport to cover the Uber ride and things needed immediately. Then in the morning head to the city centre and change what you intend spending while in Kenya at a Forex shop.

Staying in a hotel since you will be around for just 5 days is recommended.

There are many Nigerian restaurants in Nairobi, Mummy Dada is one of them located in the upscale neighbourhood of Lavington. I guess you intend experiencing kenyan dishes.

Thank you bro. Should I change from Dollar to Kenya money. is that what you are advising please?

He may ask inside the Embassy/Consulate. That said, it's really best if the applicant attempts to speak English. It really begs the question how an individual can follow instructions on an airplane or navigate an international airport without ability in English or some other common language.

Thank you many times!

hey as you prepare to visit i can welcome you by saying karibuni sana.....we do have uber here in kenya and if you ask me that will be the best mode of transportation from the airport....but also there are taxis at the airport but they very expensive...the best option is to take an uber...as for changing currency there are numerous places to change currencies in Nairobi...my best advice is dont change the whole amount at the airport ,because airport rates are high...change only a small fraction at the airport(for expenses) and the rest change them in town...Kenyans are generally welcoming to visitors so you can stay in any part of the country...For food you can find anywhere ...there are numerous joints....If you really want to enjoy ur stay insead of booking a hotel...rent a flat ..which will be way more cheaper....there are flats for rent, with all included ...hope iv been of help...you can message me if you need anything

wow! you have been so resourceful bro. I'll arrange with a Uber driver before arriving. For the accommodation, we won't be staying more than 5days before leaving for Kigali. do you still suggest renting a flat for that limited period of time?

Thanks always!

Hi alexxo,

Thanks for being nice, helpful and resourceful.

I intend visiting Nairobi next month with my wife and kids, my family in short.

1. Pls what's the best means of transportation from the airport to any good hotel. I mean do you have Uber there too?

2. Where do I change money to Kenyan currency, at the airport?

3. what part of the country is welcoming to visitors on tourism, especially to families.

4. Where do we get to find food to eat. like restaurants.

Thanks in advance bro.

Hello mybelovenigeria. Between our officers and local staff, we have speakers in the Embassy/Consulate of all the languages you mention.

Thanks a lot VO. Your response is well appreciated.

May I ask, is he going to request for an interpreter at the point of interview from the Consular, or at the outside security screening area from a security officer?

Sorry to bother you please.

Hello VO,

Please I'm asking this question on behalf of a friend. He doesn't speak good English, only Pidgin. But he speaks Hausa and Yoruba fluently. He is being invited to the US by his elder brother who happens to be getting married in October. My question is " how is he going to be interviewed at the Embassy". Is it through pidgin, or hausa or yoruba. He filled only hausa and yoruba as his spoken languages in the ds 160 form. Thank you in advance.
