The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, defended police investigation into the alleged forgery of the Senate Standing Orders 2015, in a preliminary objection opposing a suit filed by the Enugu East senator in the National Assembly, Mr. Gilbert Nnaji, which asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to restrain the police and the Attorney-General of the Federation from taking any further step on the allegation.

Nnaji filed the suit asking the court to stop the police investigation on the grounds that it

“is inspired by a devious petition by the Secretary of the Unity Forum Senators, solely aimed at unjustly incriminating the Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu.”

Remember the lecturer of University of Lagos Akoka, Yaba, Dr. Akinfolarin Baruwa, who raped his friend’s 18-year-old daughter inside a study room? another lady is accusing him of sexual harassment.

According to the story, the lecturer was the unidentified victim was re-assigned to the suspect as her project supervisor after her previous supervisor resigned.

Her words:



“I had finished my project with my supervisor a pleasant middle aged woman but because she retired before I could get time off work to have her sign off my score sheet I had been re-assigned to Mr Akinfolarin Baruwa as my new project supervisor.

My first impression about him was he was a no nonsense kinda lecturer. I walked into the office he was at the bus admin complex top floor he seemed to be sharing an office with another lecturer.

It was about 5pm I had a paper that day. He didn’t attend to me till the other man was done, he sent me on silly errands like “make this photocopy”, “go and buy me tom tom” all this continued till about 8pm after waiting for like forever he attended to me, glanced at my work and said it was rubbish and couldn’t believe my former supervisor who happened to be a professor could approve such nonsense I appealed to him that it was exam period I couldn’t possibly work on my project from the scratch and still meet the deadline for submission so I begged him to let me make corrections instead.

He said someone has done the same topic 2/3 years back and he would easily report me to the authorities that I copied which would guarantee I’ve an extra year. He went on and on ,he had me believe the work was so bad assuring me that I couldn’t escape an extra year he even said he would report me for plagiarism because I forgot to site a particular reference. At some point he said I shouldn’t bother with correcting the work that he’s submitting my name to Admin with the batch of students to be carried over next year, I was stoned.

After begging him over and over to make me correct [mostly typographical errors] he finally agreed, my mind was finally at rest and I thanked him, as I made to leave he looked at me and was like ‘is that how to say thank you?’ I then went on both knees thanking him profusely “thank you sir”, “God bless you sir”…. While I was at it he was closing the blinds of the office and he turned off the A/C [the office was very cold] like he was going to wrap up for the day, he was clearing the sofa that had other peoples projects next thing I know he locks the door.

Health and Safety:
• Absolutely no liquid on set (inc. drinks) and no wet hands
• No sticking fingers or alien objects into the sockets.
• Do not attempt to repair any light equipment
• Never touch the bulbs
• Turn off lights if you have to move then more than two feet
• Be aware of lighting around you when on set
• Tape down cable when on set and then remove tape from cable when wrapped.

• PLEASE NOTE: Never shine a light direct into someone’s face. Verbally warn everyone before turning lights on or re-direct light elsewhere and then switch on.

The basic lighting technique is the three point lighting. This is the basis for every lightening on set, on stage even in the studio. The technique consists of three basic lights. The key light, the fill light and the backlight.

Camera shots You Need To Know

Aerial Shot - Its an exterior type of shot that is used to establish a location mostly outdoor. It helps to give prominence to the location.

Arc Shot - A shot in which the subject is circled by the camera. The camera is placed in a spot then the artist or the subject will work in a circle round the camera.


Close Up - This type of shot targets the face full in the frame. It shows basically from the face to the upper part of the chest. It is used to depict emotions like sadness, happiness, smiles.

Medium Shot - The shot targets from the head to the knee level. Medium shot is the most common framing in movies.

Long Shot - It can also be called a Wide Shot. A shot that shows an entire character or object from head to foot.

Composition is an arrangement of elements within a picture that creates a unified and harmonious image

The Rule of Thirds.

One of the most popular 'rules' in photography is the Rule Of Thirds. It is also popular amongst artists. It works like this:


Imaginary lines are drawn dividing the image into thirds both horizontally and vertically. You place important elements of your composition where these lines intersect.

As well as using the intersections you can arrange areas into bands occupying a third or place things along the imaginary lines. As you can see it is fairly simple to implement. Good places to put things; third of the way up, third of the way in from the left , you get the idea. Duff places to put things; right in the middle, right at the top, right at the bottom, away in the corner.

Using the Rule of Thirds helps produce nicely balanced easy on the eye pictures. Also, as you have to position things relative to the edges of the frame it helps get rid of ' tiny subject surrounded by vast empty space' syndrome.

A doctor in Germany has been charged with negligence after he declared a 92-year-old woman dead, only for her to awaken again in a refrigerated room at a funeral home.
