Celebrities / Re: Transcript Of Tiwa Savage's Interview With ThisDay Editor: 21 Things She Said by MySmallWorld: 6:37am On Apr 30, 2016
Teebillz is mentally and psychologically sick! And from all Tiwa has said all the signs of mental instability are obvious. He needs psychiatric help. He needs therapy. If he kept telling her he brought her from nothin that's a sign of malignant narcissism. The worse kind. Tiwa is the true victim here. It's like someone stealing then pinning it on someone who tried to change your mind when you'd initially thought of stealing. That's Teebillz.

Teebillz has just shown the ultimate form of attention seeking. It's a mental disorder he is psychologically suffering. It is Tiwa I empathize with because it is she who has suffered the consequence of his mental health issues. He isn't normal. His mind and way of thinking is warped. He needs therapy. That is just the truth. I'm not a fan of Tiwa Savage, but I understand mental illness and I see the signs in Teebillz. He must have had that mental illness since childhood. I'm actually glad he didn't try killing Tiwa to seek attention. I hope this opens the eyes of Nigerians to the truth about mental illness. The mentally sick are as equally tormented as their victims, but when it gets out to the Nigerian largely unenlightened world it is the victim who becomes persecuted. Get enlightened. Nairaland / General / Re: 28 Very Important Questions That Will Change Your Life. by MySmallWorld: 10:31am On Aug 06, 2014
Alexk2: These are the 35 questions that have made the biggest impact on my life.
Self-Awareness

1. What are you pretending not to know? This was perhaps the most powerful question I was ever asked. All possibilities open up when we stop deceiving ourselves.

2. Why don’t you do the things you know you should be doing? Life isn’t about figuring out what to do. The real challenge is (not so) simply doing the things we know we should be doing.

3. What are your values and are you being true to them? Write down the 3 most important aspects of each of these areas: family, romantic relationships, friends, work, health, sex and spirituality. These are your values. When we don’t act congruently with what we value, symptoms of discomfort arise.

4. In what ways are you being perceived, that you’re not aware of? Perception is reality. Make sure, for better or worse, you know what people really think of you.

5. What don’t you know, that you don’t know? It’s always the obstacles that we don’t even see coming that are the biggest challenges in life. Get in the habit of asking people that have been there and done it before for guidance.

Happiness / Peace of Mind

6. Are your “shoulds” getting in the way of your happiness? The desires of our ego are often in conflict with the emotions of our heart. You’ll always have what you want, if you want what you have.

7. If you achieved all of your life’s goals how would you feel? How can you feel that along the way? The discipline of delayed gratification is one of the most powerful habits of successful individuals. But most actions we take are meant to elicit an emotion in the now. We’re happier striving for our goals when we let ourselves feel that which we want to feel when our outcome is achieved.

8. What did I learn today? Who did I love? What made me laugh? I try and ask myself these 3 questions at the end of each day. Regardless of anything else that happens, if you learned something new, loved a good person and got to laugh heartily, it was a day worth having and remembering.

Perspective

9. If you weren’t scared what would you do? Use the rocking chair test. What would your 90-year-old self, looking back on your own life, advise you to do in the moment?

10. If you were dying, would you worry about this? We so easily lose perspective on what takes up our energy and focus. We’re all dying. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves of this to enjoy living.

11. Should you be focused on today or tomorrow? Savor the present but don’t forget your future. Life is a balance of knowing when to enjoy the moment vs. when to plant seeds for tomorrow’s harvest.

Influence / Achievement

12. Why not? What would happen if…? Don’t accept that things just are the way they are. Question why something can’t be done. And when you get pushback to these questions, reframe the negative answers with possibilities.

13. What/Who did you make better today? The way to measure your worth may just be to give more than you take. Asking what/who you made better each day is a simple litmus test we can all measure ourselves by.

14. What do you want your life to be in 5 years? If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll never get there – Lewis Carroll. Write down 5-year goals. They’re close enough to grasp for, yet far off enough to achieve almost anything.

15. What can you do today to improve? Consistent, incremental improvement is the secret to achieving the greatest of feats.

Business / Entrepreneurship

16. What’s your WHY? If you have a big enough WHY you’ll always figure out the What and the How. If you don’t have a BIG WHY, you’ll always use the What and the How as an excuse for not doing that thing you said you were going to do.

17. What’s the one most important thing to get done today/ this week/month? Write this down on a Post-it note at the beginning of each day/week, and hold yourself accountable for completing this above all other Stuff To Do.

18. What questions must you consider before starting a business? See my list by watching “The 10 Questions” or reading the document.

19. What’s the potential upside? What’s the effort involved? What’s the likelihood of success? What’s the strategic value? This is the framework I came up with 3 years ago on “How to Make the Right Business Decisions”. Whenever there is an opportunity cost, I have my team go through this exercise.

20. What are we talking about? What problem are we solving? I try to start off every meeting by putting this on the whiteboard. In group settings we too often we find ourselves having completely different conversations. Sometimes when answers are difficult to come by, it’s helpful to question if we’re solving for the right problem.

21. Can you get it done now? If something is important or urgent and you can get it done now, do it.

22. What do you need to make it happen? This is one of my favorite questions to ask as a manager. It creates ownership to make sure the goals will be achieved. And it creates a shared responsibility to provide the resources required to achieve those goals.

23. If we could wave a magic wand and do anything together, what would that look like? I use this question all the time with potential business partners. By removing the perceived constraints that bind us and focusing on mutually desired outcomes, we often discover new pathways of possibility.

24. How would your role models act and carry themselves? Act as if. Act as if you have the experience, wisdom and swagger of your role model, and you’ll often find even the most unchartered of situations more navigable.

25. When can we meet? We’re often this one question away from engaging with someone who can open up limitless avenues of possibility. The most important aspect of business is still to always get it done in person.

26. Will you be my mentor? It’s one question that, when asked in earnest, almost nobody will turn down. Reach out to a person in a position and industry you admire, and ask them if you can take them to coffee and hear about how they got there.

27. What will I only know about you after we’ve worked together for a year? This interview question comes from the awesome Wendy Lea (CEO, GetSatisfaction). This may be the best interview question I’ve ever heard.

28. What would get you interested in our product/service? Selling is the art of asking good questions, listening, and matching your value to people’s needs. Sales is very easy when others explain what they want and need from you.

Thank you so much for this. I've copied it for re-reading and meditating. I love everything to do with self-awareness and self-improvement.

Fashion / Re: How To Wear Leggings: Avoid These Style Mistakes by MySmallWorld: 6:24pm On Dec 29, 2013
Wearing leggings as pants is quite popular in Lagos. It's annoying to see different colours of pants through leggings. I mind my own business anyway.

www.inez-mysmallworld..com

BloggingIq: This is a response to this post - https://www.nairaland.com/1565789/issue-pairing-leggings-short-top

Ladies break my heart when I see them dressing that way, why expose those bouncy package at the back, and that V thing I always see between your legs? why? Please below are the right way to carry your package in a more respectful gesture!

Mistake #1 Leggings = pants

Oh, this is a big one. The fabric on a proper legging should be thick so you do not see the person's skin peeking through. If you can see through the leggings, then they're probably too thin or they're tights, not leggings, and tights are NOT pants. In fact, it's a good rule of thumb to wear leggings as if they are not pants as well. Cause guess what? They're not.

Mistake #2 Tight top + tight bottoms

Many women try to coordinate leggings with cropped or tight, fitted tops. No, thank you. No matter how great you look from the rear, balance and layering are important when it comes to wearing leggings well. Let's think back to Mistake #1 and remember that leggings are more like tights than pants. Balance out form-fitting leggings with looser, roomier tops, sweaters, or tunics.

Mistake #3 The walking anatomy lesson

If we wanted an anatomy lesson, we'd go buy ourselves a Female Anatomy Doll, not go to the mall looking for women making Mistake #3. Wear leggings with longer shirts, tunics, or a short dress. Think mid-thigh length or, at the shortest, right below the hip and cover that rear.

Mistake #4 Disco revival

While there is probably some woman out there who can rock some silver, gold, or high-gloss leggings, let's all assume we're not her. When it comes to leggings, steer clear of the shine, which can show bulges or create them even where there are no bulges. Stick to opaque, shine-free leggings.

Oh, please, cut the crap. People suffer wardrobe malfunction everyday. I was behind a lady one day and ♓èл zip was open I could see ♓èл thong. Another day it was a man's fly that was open and he was seated. A woman wanted to enter an Okada and ♓èл skirt ripped open, a girl was boarding a bus and the wind blew ♓èл perfect dress up.

So, wardrobe malfunction is unfortunate but shit happens. Get with it!

On another note, Agbani is set to marry influential Balyesa politician, Timi Alaibe. As for ♓èл age. Women who get married so early are those who are not accomplished and have nothing to lose, but everything to gain.

Yes, I do agree it is an epic fail. The dress is sexy already in a classy way, what with the leather and sheer paneling. The nipples sticking out, haphazardly, I might add just makes it tacky and vulgar.

I am not saying that MAC is not a great product. What I am stressing is that MAC is more catered towards runway modelling. Have you ever noticed how easily it is for someone to detect you are wearing makeup when you cover up with MAC's studiotech or studio fix? I find their products to be very heavy.

Iman and even Tally Young's products are a bit on the lighter side. With regards to the mixing of makeup, it is one of my many beauty tips. I personally find that they work better that way.

What you should do when testing your make up, match it against the darkest area around the neck. By so doing you tend make a better judgement on the correct shade.

Best of luck,

Oh, please. MAC is not meant for runway modeling. Understand how to apply the product before Ü complain. Use a kabuki brush for light to medium coverage and the foam pad in the case for full coverage and you MUST remember "A little goes a long way" that's why it is expensive.

Mix the shea butter with coconut or olive oil. It will give it and make it maintain a soft consistency.

It depends on the beach. I find people feel more comfortable wearing bikinis and what-have-yous to a private beach than a public on because of the refinement of people who peruse the former.
