Travel / Re: Sad Truths About Living Abroad by mystery01: 2:48am On Dec 24, 2020
Abeg Any colour you paint am, give me the abroad any day any time, imagine like 90% of what you pray for for naija govt de do am, no insecurities, light yapa, food de, u go school better school no Strike, abeg AWESOME QUALITY OF LIFE.

Leshurr:
#1. The Silence is Deafening!
When I first arrived in the West, I was so taken aback by how quiet everywhere was. On the way out of the airport, I looked around in awe as the pristine clean roads were not littered with with hawkers, jampacked cars , numerous pedestrians and the blaring sounds of horns! - although, mega-cities like New York is an exception to the rule.

#2. Your Neighbours & The Police: You Can Co-exist with Neighbours for Years Without Ever Saying a Word to Each Other.
In the average neighbourhood, you can't make noise anyhow. Everyone minds their business. ... The most you will get out of your neighbors is an occasional nod and smile.
Although this doesn't deter them from watching your every move through their windows... they won't hesitate to call the cops/snitch on you at any slight opportunity. Make noise and fight with your spouse anyhow and you will find police knocking at your door.

#3 Raising kids in a Predominantly Black Neighbourhood Can Spell Doom.
Bullying is incessant in these communities. Gang culture, crime, violence  etc..

#4. Your Child(ren) can be Taken from You.
This almost happened to a close friend of mine whose nosy neighbour called  child services on her because she heard her baby crying for a lengthy period of time. And the police actually showed up to her house to carry out a thorough investigation on the living conditions of the baby.. Thank God nothing incriminating was found..
Moral of the story: be careful with how you care for/discipline your kids when living abroad.

#5. Nigerian Churches (most RCCG branches) are Epicenters for Drama & Toxicity.
Avoid! Just Avoid!

#6. Black (especially Nigerian women) are at the Bottom of the Food Chain; be it at the Workplace or on the Dating Scene.
Young black guys will rather date white or mixed race girls.. (may not be true for all) but my observation living in London.
...and at work, we have to work twice as hard to be respected and valued. The biggest oppressor of a black woman at work is a white woman (and in some cases, your fellow blacks).. but not a white man surprisingly.

#7. You will Happily Miss Home from Afar and be so Much More Invested in the Affairs of Nigeria than Those Living in Nigeria.

Need I say more? smiley

#8.You May Gain Weight.
Why??
Kebabs & Pizzas
Chicken and chips.
Cheap and irresistibly delicious chinese takeaways cheesy
Fish & chips
Burgers,
TGI Fridays & Nandos

Important Note: This is a light hearted post and just a snippet of my experience so far living abroad.. it isn't perfect here, but I'd choose this over and over again than my experiences living in Nigeria.

1. boys or girls they are all children and blessing from God.
2. stop worrying yourself over what you cant control, you create girl child intentionally.
3. dont be looking for male child while your body suffers, u may end up getting girls again.
4, sorry to say your husband is naive, needs conselling, need to be made to understand.
5. theres a way out, but its not 100% successful , but has been successful for some, its called TIMING the right moment , there's a time when u meet will bring the X or the XY, ask your midwife, there are apps u can download on android.
6. LOVE YOUR GIRLS LIVE FOR THEM, TEACH THEM RIGHT, BE THERE FOR THEM, THEY NEED YOU, TEACH THEM TO BE BETTER TO BOLD, EDUCATE THEM , AND IN YOUR OLD AGE THEY WILL BE THERE FOR YOU.

Health / Re: Could This Be STD Or Bad Immune System? by mystery01: 11:47pm On Oct 28, 2019
I remember a post of a lady having same issues like urs reported here only to find out her Bobo de into yahooplus eats shit
Pearl1996:
Nairaland famiy I need help.

Somethings been eating me up. I had sex with my boyfriend some weeks later i started falling so sick I will try to point out all I can remember
*Came down with what I felt was fever was burning hot so hot you just need to come close to feel the heat

*at night I sweat. Not just the usual sweat but one I have to change my clothes two times a nigbt(this happened for like a week)

* I started feeling so cold especially in the morning. Doctor said it was pneumonia + a cough that lasted for three weeks plus.

*and the rashes I ve never have in my whole life spreaded all over my arms and back as well as my breast region.

* I also had serious muscle ache. Serious that my mom had to help me massage it. My neck did hurt too it felt like someone hit me with a blank on my neck

* nodes on my neck, groin, as well as ear.
* I started having blurred vision and sores on my lips like fever blisters

* and then injuries in my mouth, weird ones
* I have oral trush at least thats what I thought them to be. White tongue I have had this before but this onr is different. With slimy white things in my mouth every time

*I also experienced dehydration and dry mouth.
* also had a delayed flow

The symptoms are so much I can't even mention it all. Most of these lasted for about a month +. I still have cold till this day. I shiver most times and its my major fear. And the rashes are still there.

This Is the major problem. The nurse who was handling me said it might be an STD maybe HIV I took plethora of test including HIV after 3 months all came back negative, I was told to wait 6montgs to check for HIv again it was still negativr. During this month I have seen so many doctors, private and government all they do is givr me drugs but I still experience the pneumonia cold( no cough) and occasional mouth sores as well as the rash. My boyfriend now my ex took HIV too it was negative.
Please doctors in the house what can this be. I have read so many threads here on naira land of people who had same experience but some later turned + they might be lying though.

I heard after 6 months and test is still negative then its not it. My question now is. What is wrong with me. I have spent so much on drugs and test. And no doctor is able to say what my problem is. Its making me crazy as I am even scared to shower because of the cold and I can't let people see my body due to rash.

I need help.
