*Clears my desk*
*Picks up my pen and paper*
*heads focused on the paper, pen in the right hand*
When Yoruba scholar's said "Ojú ló pé sí" first thing you may
take it as a joke, then you are on your own, sometimes they
would say "Ohun to'un tán lodún eégún, omo aláàgbáà á
ràkàrà je" then you would still be looking at them as if they are
bluffing.
Anything that has a beginning must sure have an end, no
matter how long it may be, it will surely come to an end. That's
why the Yoruba's still lay more emphasis on the matter by
saying "o n tán lo o, baba tín bá omo seré alé"
Back in October last year, it was like I have been thrown out of
the place I call my habitat, I never knew I can adapt to any
other region, my live have always been West, West and West.
Thanks to Baba God
Opé fún Olódùmarè
It has not been easy, it has been tough, tougher than you can
imagine, the experience, the exposure, the impact,....
Oh no! It hasn't been easy mehn.
But yet here we are, I don't just know where to start this piece,
I've got a lot of things to be happy about. "Oya" said and I
quote "Iye omo tí àkàrà bá kó wonú epo lo nkó jáde" I've
came, I've seen, and I've conquered.
I started this race with so many others, many didn't finish it,
who I'm i to claim the medal? It's all God. Because he's always
involved.
The East has thought me a lot of lessons.
1. ECONOMY: igbos are a very economical in nature, waste is
something very far from them. They can manage to the last
call, for example, an Igbo family will have the following
Father- business man
Mother- business and farming
Children- business, schooling.
Their compound is not left out
The outside- economy trees like cashew, pawpaw, pier,
orange, mango among others,
At the back of the house- vegetables like ugwu, green, water
leave and so on.
Beside the house is cassava plantation, and at the other side
is goat house. The rear goats too. Just Incase somebody dies
unexpectedly.
2. Faith, Culture, and Tradition
Most igbos are Catholics, very religious, first mass, second
mass, third mass on Sundays. But yet, they don't joke with
their culture and traditions.
Any day they declare festival people will troup out in large
numbers and you would start wondering if this same people
are not the one carrying rosary last Sunday.
3. Food.
My goodness, igbos are foodically foodidle, they can eat like
tomorrow is not going to come, no gauge eat till your
diaphragm collapsed.
Igbos don't do 3 times a day, but thanks to the new federal
administration, they. Now know how to do 4-5 times a day.
I don't blame them though, since they can even plant maize in
their living room and bathroom.
Igbos have a very large variety of food.
But the one they like most AKPU.
Don't try an Igbo man patience with akpu. You are OYO. Opaka
is like their locust bean, when ever they are making it. I better
not be around, or else. The odor can make you puke. But trust
me. When it gets inside oha or afam soup, you may
unconsciously reduce your five fingers to four.
Lastly, I love taking isiewu and garri. It works past all the
sleeping pill in the world put together.
And whenever I felt like nothing is satisfying me, the solution
is okpa. It's of two type. Plain okpa and special okpa, special
okpa can make you go gaga. You can't understand it.
4. Accommodation
I must say this, igbos are the most accommodating I've ever
seen, they welcome you with both hands, "but Na your pocket
go suffer"
They offer you the best, when they know you can pay better,
they still make palmfront fence perimeter.
The rich uncles in India, China, London, USA, Lagos And Abuja
always send money home to build house, you can try that in
Yoruba land, you know the rest.
5. Marriage
Chai!!! I've seen the "seeniest" thing here,
Marriage here is not as hard as in the East. Very simple and
straight forward.
The man will just go the "innayin" (dad) with a keg of palm
wine and a bottle of aromatic schinapps. Tell the Papa they he
love the beautiful oyinye, gbam that's all. They will welcome
you with COLA. Funny isn't it,
Next thing is to call on oyinye and tell her what the man is
requesting for, then it's left for oyinye to say yes or no, bit how
many oyinye have the liver to say no in front of "Nne and
Nnayin"
That's how they will fix date, and oyinye is gone to oga house
be that. Happy married life oyinye.
6. Money! Money!! Money!!!
Igbos don't joke with this number six o. Not even with their
kinsmen, rara o, ko Jo. They can do anything to get "ego" don't
misunderstand me please, I'm not saying other tribes don't like
money, we all do, but igbos are not liking money, they wish
they are money themselves.
I won't talk much about the money things.
Lastly,
7. Transportation
Here nothing like NURTW
NO RTEAN
They have privately and state owned transport system.
The likes of ENTRACO- ENUGU STATE TRANSPORT
COMPANY. Govt owned.
While the likes of
PMT- PEACE MASS TRANSIT
RMT- ROYAL MASS TRANSPORTATION
Among others, they make transportation very easy and cheap,
but road here is a very big challenge. Bad road everywhere,
makes the transport fare fly up during rain seasons.
I have so many other experience to share about, I will post it
in subsequent time. Thanks for reading

Phones / The Smartphone, The Enemy To Be Defeated? by Naija247Gists: 2:23am On Sep 23, 2016
ABSTRACT:
There is a general tendency to demonize the smartphone. However, only the user can make a beneficial or harmful tool. It is necessary to empower and give importance to our choices. Misused, the smartphone becomes a source of stress. Used well, it makes our lives easier

A poll in 2015, 75% of Nigeria consult their Smartphone 15 minutes after alarm clock and 78% use 15 minutes before bed.
These results were shared through thousands of articles, videos and podcasts. Most repeat the same conclusion: we've become addicted to our smartphones.
Comparing this behavior addiction, such as alcoholism. It is presented as an evil in our society, a danger to our future generations a stupor tool. The only remedy seems to be to repeat the sacred phrase: "it was better before."

Eh yes ! when we were young we, good generation, we imagine to be pilots, firemen or cowboys. Now, sad fact, youth has to set a screen and tap on it to embody a.
Eh yes ! before the appearance of devilish Smartphone, people communicated and laughed good heart in transit. We are now surrounded by zombies staring millions of small colored squares.
Eh yes ! the work was formerly relaxing. We moved to a human pace. Today, we must respond to our emails even during the "break poo."
As we hear the criticism against this little box connected, the more I believe it's one of the worst scourges of our time. Scientists should not seek to eradicate cancer, they should find a molecule that could cure us of the connection. Then we could live happily with patches nicotino-phone glued to our arms.
The smartphone, is it the enemy to be defeated? Man, was he happier before its invention?

the problem: put the blame on an external object. We are in a society where the culture of disempowerment is strong:
You fail at school? The teacher is incompetent.
You are fat ? The canteen only sells junk food.
You're an alcoholic? You have bad genes.
You are poor? The company is a broken elevator.
You're stressed ? The world is going to 1000km / h
Certainly, each of these responses is valid, as to the cause of his troubles and his frustrations on his smartphone. But the question is whether one, they are the only two plausible answers and, if these answers are helpful. By "useful" I mean that the answer is a way to solve the problem.
Yes, the smartphone makes us accessible 24/7. But is it inevitable and purpose? Can we really do anything to change this?

In his book "The power of self-discipline", Brian Tracy gives a sentence that magical judge (yes, it's an American): "I am responsible." It no longer takes into account the external elements which we are helpless, we focus on the empowerment that we have on this situation.
This principle is well known in the Stoics. Seneca loves resume metaphor dog tied to a cart advance. It may refuse to follow the rhythm of the vehicle. The problem is that it will be dragged to the ground for several hours. True, the fact that it is attached is an injustice and it has the right to be indignant. His condition is not due to his fault, but that of his masters. However, if he refuses to keep up, his situation will be even more painful. Conversely, if he decides to go at the right speed, it does not even feel the pull rope around his neck.

In considering themselves responsible, we agree to keep pace as some exterior and unavoidable events we needed. We can not necessarily affect the event itself, but we can control our reaction: follow the cart or leave lying around.
This reality becomes more relevant with the smartphone. If its use stresses us, it is we who are responsible. No one forces us to answer a Facebook status within minutes, to answer our emails in the toilet and even less to play Pokemon Go in transport. It is our choices, and our choices are bad. The tool is neutral, it is the user who is perverse.
Instead of perceiving the smartphone as an enemy whose removal would be a victory, try to make an ally.

A minimalist tool
James Altucher and Andrew Hyde have one thing in common: they live only 15 objects. Living with 15 items while having a lucrative task was impossible just a few decades ago. Why ? Because the smartphone did not exist.
I am stating the obvious, but the smartphone is a wonderful condensation of several hundreds or even thousands of physical objects. It is not for nothing that speaks of dematerialization.
If someone introduced to me and looked at my bookshelf, he would conclude that I do not like reading. In reality, the 50 books I read a year are on my Kindle in digital format.
The technology can be as much the chain that imprisons us that the key to free ourselves. A smartphone can so complicate our lives that allow us to simplify.
Smartphone, Kindle and laptops are what I call "super-objects." And as Uncle Ben would say "great power involves great responsibility". An object can be something pleasant or unpleasant. With a super-object, you can transform her life into a heaven or a hell.

Up to us to choose.

Business / 10 Secrets To Become Rich And Successful In A Short Period Of Time by Naija247Gists: 1:46am On Sep 23, 2016
1) Do not sell picks and carts

During the gold rush, there were two groups:

Those hoping to find a vein of gold and become rich
Those who sold picks and carts
Most texts explaining how to get rich will tell you belong to the second group. There will be enough donkeys hoping to find it rich to ruin your store. Ditto for the lottery, you'd better be the one who sells the tickets that whoever buys them.

But my secret is going much further. The problem with this technique is that it must still create a sales structure that requires investment and time.

To take the history of the gold rush, there was a third group: secret or magic cards to sellers. These guys were selling pieces of paper without interest by promising that it was the map of a former death thief who hid a treasure or whatever.

The miners a fortune buying the paper that the seller had 5 seconds to do.

2) Write a book using the right keywords.

These keywords are:
The secret ...
…easily
… effortlessly
... X days or quickly
X-laws ...
A small example: The secret of the stars, to become famous easily and effortlessly in 10 days.
Another might be "the week of 4 hours", book I advise you to buy and read and re-read now!

trust me this sells faster than blood money...

3) Make a product or training at an exorbitant price

Do not skimp on the price, the more expensive the better.
And quality in all this?
We do not care !!!

That's the most fantastic. When people pay expensive, they will never accept to have wasted a monumental sum for nonsense. They then will defend tooth and nail their product even if it is absolutely worthless.
To better understand this idea, I suggest you read Cialdini Influence and handling (this is my summary of the book)

when you listen to radio you hear stuff likes, training is free, you only need to pay for materials.
i will not mention names

4) The silver bullet or magic pill

Well, it looks a bit like what I said before, but with a little nuance.

People are in constant search of something that will make the change without a hang. Culture of consumption when you hold us ...

Then, just sell them the miracle product that will give them results in two and two. The best would be to consider the board 3 and sell it at exorbitant prices. For example :

Lose 40 kilos in 3 days

Win 20 kilos of muscle in 7 days

Make a fortune by 8am chrono

Become a mentalist in 5 days

Seduce the woman of your dreams in 12 days

Become a living god (only that) in 4 days

In short, you'll understand the process.
But you tell me that people are not so stupid it all the same!
No ! Sir or Madam knows that your method will not work and yet ... there is still a little hope.
So we rather spend thousands of euros a year to find the ideal slimming method instead of moving the buttocks, to play sports.

this are commonly seen on facebook

5) Getting into the business of p**n

Some statistics:

Every second, $ 3,075,64 are spent on the web pornography

Every second, there are 28.258 users who are watching

Still every second, 372 users tap keywords of adult sites on search engines

12% of the internet consists of pornography sites representing 420 million pages

The industry of Internet pornography reported 97 billion in 2006

For more statistical information: http://www.psycho-ressources.com/bibli/stats-pornographie.html
You'll understand that this is a golden way to make money.

i trust my guys already, most Nigerian blogger are into this.

6) Marrying a / rich near death
lol this one is very funny, and my yahoo gurus can relate

You take the oldest and most can ill-in point. You grit your teeth a few years, and BAM, you're a millionaire.

they are many people in this business

7) Become philosopher

The most simple and effective techniques!

You talk to your friends with a banality, and after a while, you say, "but you know, money does not buy happiness." Watch them condescendingly as if you had to deliver them an unknown truth.

You can even add a layer (it takes better) saying that the important thing is the health or love and that's it, the real wealth.

this works for you if you are very determined...

cool Become a big Gangsta

You noticed that the bad guys are always rich in movies.

They always full of weapons, girls ... sumptuous villas.
This is because they have the neck ***** to do what others do not.

The simplest is to become a mobster. I highly recommend the book "Gomorra" by Robert Saviano, it shows you all the tricks to becoming one.
You see, this world is fascinating!

the likes of tompol...... no be me talk am.

9) Make the divine blackmail

Well, the law of attraction and all, it's nice, but there is much more effective! We do not ask any white in Mr. behind his cloud, is required!
Be interested in the religion in question, and threaten its creator to do the opposite of what he teaches he does not give you lots of money.

I once saw a guy say to heaven he would wear clothes in hybrid fabric, wear a tattoo and even wearing clothes that were not white (yes, these rules are in the Old Testament!) S it did not have € 10 million cash within 3 days. The next day he was a millionaire. True story !
You can berate the universe saying, "You aboules the money now! it stops doing its crevard! ". That's how I made my first million.

10) feel free to add yours

add yours, there are a lot of it out there......

Politics / Federal Government Not Importing ‘poisonous’ Rice, Says Presidency by Naija247Gists: 6:41pm On Sep 07, 2016
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT NOT IMPORTING ‘POISONOUS’ RICE,
SAYS PRESIDENCY
The Federal Government has described attempts by
unscrupulous individuals on social media linking the
government and Dangote group with a plan to ‘flood’ the
country with genetically modified rice (GMO) as extremely
uncharitable.
In real terms, the Federal Government in 2014 signed a
$1billion Memorandum of Understanding, (MoU) for
investment in integrated rice project with Dangote Industries
Ltd. Further to this agreement, Dangote Industries Limited this
year cultivated over 8,000 hectares in Hadejia, Jigawa state,
creating over 10,000 direct and indirect jobs for farmers who
are the major beneficiaries of the scheme.
In consolidation of the rice project of the Federal Government,
President Muhammadu Buhari administration is also in
partnership with the African Development Bank (AfDB) and
other reputable companies to tap into the vast potentials in
the private sector and broadening the economic base of the
country.
The gains of the diversification drive especially in the
Agriculture sector are already yielding dividends as shown by
the recent statistics in the sector as published by the National
Bureau of Statistics.
These engagements will continue until the present
administration has laid a solid foundation for the economic
development of the nation.
It is therefore ridiculous that a government that is wholly
devoted to the generation of employment for Nigerians
especially through Agriculture will turn around to get involved
in an activity that will reverse the gains of the same
partnership.
President Muhammadu Buhari has said it repeatedly that, ‘’we
have the capacity to feed ourselves in Nigeria and even export
from what we produce in the country.” He has also said that
through the provision of N200 billion by the CBN for small
holder farmers and processors involved in local production of
rice and other grains, rice importation will hopefully stop in
the next three years.
It is unfortunate that while the Buhari administration is working
assiduously with well-meaning Nigerians to bring the country
out of the current economic situation it has found itself, a few
self-serving individuals are bent on distracting the
administration from the avowed focus to reflate the fortunes
of the country through the diversification of the economy
which, very soon, Nigerians will begin to see and experience
the results.
The Federal Government warns purveyors of such malicious
information and those thinking of embarking on the same
route to have a rethink and retrace their steps.
