Sounds like a good plan. All the best. Holla if you ever find yourself in the Newcastle/Hunter/Central Coast Regions of NSW some day in future. Chikicaka: |

Nice...Sounds like you had a lovely experience in Sydney. Funny how visitors enjoy their holiday destinations than the residents. Can’t wat to go on vacay! How come you didn’t find vegetables? Ah ahn! Most of the regular stores have Choysum, Spinach, Bukchoy, Pakchoy, Lettuce etc...and they can be used (and do the work) for éfó rirò and éfó élégusi too. Abi you were looking for Ugwu. Next time you can bring your dried ugwu/bitter leaf. [quote author=debby516 post=61726880] To the food, i didnt see "Ata rodo" yoruba red pepper in teh stores i went - ALDI, Coles and woolwoths (theses are the grocery stores around) unlike in the US butthey have different types of tomatoes, that one even confused me and they have big 'tatashe' pepper. (Non-yoruba, pls google the english translation, sorry). Didnt find vegetable too. The food is another story but thank God i am back home, "i cant come and kill myself" lol. |

Yeah you can carry two suitcases plus your carry-on on the train but it will be very stressful. You will need to get a train from the airport to central station, and another train from the central station to Newcastle. Although it’s relatively cheaper than other modes, the stress no be here! You don’t need such after the long flight. The best bet is to use one of those airport shuttle services that run from Sydney airport to Newcastle. It will drop you at you exact destination and very comfortable. It was around AUD70 three years ago, so it should still be less than AUD100. You can google ‘HappyCabby’ (that’s if they still operate) or search for other related options. Solitin40: |

galileeteo: Hi Galileeteo, Your age shouldn't pose a problem. However, 2008-2017 is about 9years gap....that's a long one. While securing a visa may be difficult, it is not impossible. All you have to do is to prepare a well written, solid Statement of Purpose with concrete & verifiable evidences to support your claims. On the Canada trial, did you apply and was denied or you backed out based on what the agent advised? Yes, you are allowed to bring your family along on your Student visa. You can either apply at the same time or they can apply as 'subsequent entrants' after you have been granted your visa and settled in Australia. Whichever case, you need to include them in your application. Cheers! 2 Likes |

blaugrana82: Very easy! Just follow the steps below: (1) Open the browser on your laptop/phone or any other device connected to the internet (2) Type in: www.google.com (3) In the search box, type in 'universities in Australia'. You should get lots of results. Open each carefully, check the requirements for you intended course in each university and choose the best that applies to your case. If you need further information. There is always a 'contact us' link on the universities' websites. Click on and email or ring them over the phone. (4) Follow steps (1-3) above for information on tuition fees too. Learn to put in effort at helping yourself! If you have challenges with accessing the Internet due to insufficient funds, send me a PM, will gladly assist. Cheers bro/babe! 8 Likes |

@WestAfrican. You don't need to argue with her @Jewelstone. She doesn't seem to know much, she is new in Australia and thinks she knows it all with her little Youth work/disability/student nurse experience. She needs to learn more and move all around Australia. Workers in Western Australia & ACT earn way better than those in NSW. As a doctorate student, I get about $28k per annum as living stipends and I also work as a casual academic at the rate of $120 per hour. Most times I work as little as 25hrs per week and still make $2,067 (after tax) weekly. I have other friends with jobs such as: physiotherapist, occupational therapist (not management level) that make about $5,000 forthrightly after tax. Other friends that are surveyors, technicians etc (with just diploma certificates) get more than the aforementioned rates. @JewelStone, please do not mislead people on here. You are not well informed. I think you should restrict your responses to study visa issues! 13 Likes |

[quote author=bligs post=60062604] If you are on scholarship whether government, private or any kind of scholarship, no post study work visa for you after concluding your studies, na home straight unless you run your PR parole before your visa expires. Wrong information. If you are not allowed to apply for post study visa, it will be stated as a condition on your visa. Not all scholarships require you to go back after your studies. In most cases, it's usually the scholarships sponsored by the Australian government. For instance, if you are on the University's scholarship, you are allowed to apply for post study visa when you complete your studies. I know because I'm on the Uni's scholarship & have friends that were on same scholarship, finished & no on post study visa. |

For Masters, it depends on where you intend to study. If you study in WA, tuition is free for your children as long as you (either of the parent) remain enrolled It is free for all PhD students in all states. Vickglam: |

Career / Re: This Is How Much Most Graduates Earn In Nigeria As Starting Salary - Stutern by Naijaaussie(m): 2:40am On May 07, 2017 |
That's even small compared to what obtains here. A security guard earns as much as USD800 per week depending on what time of the day he/she works. The good think about countries like this is that while waiting to get your dream job, there is ALWAYS something to do that will conveniently take care of your needs as long as you are hardworking & can cut your coat accordingly. People are really going through a lot in Nigeria. You work your arse off & your take-home cannot even take you home. There is no definite working hours. You find people working from 7:30am till 9pm and still earn as low as 100k at the end of the month. For those that complain about the bills abroad, I do not think it's that bad. Simply coat your coats according to your size & develop your skills to fit into the requirements of your host community/country & you'll be fine. Jeffboi: 2 Likes |

Romance / Re: 'If Guys Knew How Many Times Girls Wore The Same Bra Without Washing It' - by Naijaaussie(m): 5:37pm On Apr 06, 2017 |
You have a lot to learn from @megareal. I think you should wash/change your bra more often than you currently do. Of course, you've got sweat glands over there, what about the residue from your body lotion/cream or the dead skin cells? It's difficult to 'smell' your own 'smell'. Think about primary school girls without 'ripe boobs' that put on 'singlets'; do they use one all week? I doubt it & those singlets serve the same purpose as bras. I remember my sisters back in primary school used to change their singlets daily. Some girls can be freaks when it comes to being neat. I never paid much attention to my towels till I learnt from a housemate years back. Then, she used a towel per day and had more than a dozen. Then I relalized people care about the outerwear than the inner ones. Bet most girls & guys don't change their towels daily. After having a good wash, you end up drying your body with a 'not so clean' two weeks-used towel. Benita27: 6 Likes 1 Share |
