If all the OP accuses him of is true, then he should do the right thing and ensure his family is well taken care of. There is no excuse to rob your kids of their own entitlements. I watched a video of her on YouTube where she shared the story of her upbringing and my heart truly broke for her.

I can see why she would have clung on to a relationship that was not ideal and afraid to take risks. She simply wanted to belong to someone, to be loved.

That said, even though they weren't legally married, she was his common-law wife evidenced by the three kids she had for him. There might be a way for her to regularise herself even without him in the picture on that basis(this is conjecture on my part).

The reason that springs to mind about the errant husband not filing for her could be that he acquired his citizenship through shady means or may not even be legal himself.

May be so that he is a liar but calling him out does not in anyway improve the situation of those he abandoned. It's great that she ex-missus has got people like her fighting her corner but I believe the fight should be more focused on helping her come out of the whole debacle thriving beyond expectations.

She needs to speak to an immigration lawyer to know her options so she can rectify her situation. She can also go to the citizens advice bureau, they are free and can sign post her to where she can obtain appropriate help.

In the meantime, if she aware of his work place, she can contact child maintenance service (cms) and give them info, they will collect whatever maintenance the kids are due straight from his paycheck.

Even if he in receipt of benefits only, they will be able to enforce payments directly out of it.
